Peking Garden is the place to go if you are looking for authentic Chinese cuisine. I come here with my family at least twice a week for dinner ( we are lazy to cook), the food is served home-style and the flavor is great . No other chinese restaurant in the metro area can compare to this place! They have the americanized dishes, and authentic real Chinese food, the seafood is also fresh and the wait staff give phenomenal service. They even speak both Chinese and English. Though they moved from the convenient location at the U to the corner in a strip mall, their atmosphere is alot better and cleaner, and they still offer the same great food. I definitely recommend this restaurant more

Delish!! 3/15/2012

I was so excited for a Chinese food buffet this evening, when I saw it in Midway mall. I was it was 10 to 8 and I was told I could still enjoy the buffet. Delight filled my heart and I was directed to my table and told to grab a plate and I would pay on the way out. Fine I thought and went to pick out my first plate. Delish!! more

Awesome food at an affordable price! 2/28/2012

Awesome food at an affordable price! My wife and I have been loyal customers ever since we were introduced to the restaurant at it's original location by the U of M. The dinner for 4 is the order of choice because you get a variety of dishes in the order. We always have leftovers for tomorrow's lunch! more

Worst Chinese Food Ever 7/11/2009

We read all the reviews, and were excited to get take out. Instead, when we got home we found flavorless, inedible mush. We ended up throwing away $33 worth of food because we simply couldn't stomach it. I have never had a ""meal"" like this before. If I could give less than a star, I would. Cons: The Food more

THE BEST CHINESE RESTRAUNT 6/12/2009

this chinese restraunt is the best it has the best food i could go there every day i go there alot its the best !they always treat me good they have the best attitude to me and others Pros: BEST IN THE WORLD Cons: NOTHING ITS THE BEST more

Over charged 3 times! 5/21/2009

Wow, I've gone here so many times and everytime my bill comes out to be super higher than what I would order, so the last time I went, I wrote down all my order price, and ofcourse, when the bill came they charged me extra for my app and two of my entrees! Makeing a 34 dollar meal into a 42 dollar meal!!! I confronted the manager! And demanded he show me the menu! He was so rude, gave me attitude and told one of his waiters to deal with me?! Food is very good, but, like everyone says, don't expect service. And if you even flag them down, they'll roll their eyes at you and pretend like your not there. more

AVOID 7/24/2008

Hubby and I went there a few years back, and never returned. The food was very good, but the service was the worst. Like another reviewer stated, the employees were argueing the whole time we were there. Made us feel uncomfortable. Then after getting our take out boxes, we waited a long time before getting our bill. We paid and left our tip at the table. Half way to our car, already in the parking lot, the waiter ran after us with anger and demanded more tip. I swear, we probably paid a full extra dinner entree just tipping him. AVOID IF YOU CAN. We will never return to this place. Pros: Food is good. Cons: SERVICE IS BAD more

Great Food, Clean, Nice employees, Great customer sevice 5/18/2008

Peking Garden is a great chinese resturant. Their food is very tasty and unique. This is my favorite resturant, I come here at least once a week. Their atmosphere is very clean. Its a very clean resturant. most the workers speak spanish, english, and chinese. But all of them speak english. The employees are very welcoming and nnice. If they arnt busy they might talk to you and share about themselves. They always put the customers first. Their sea food is fresh. They have these Huge tanks that have all this sea food in it. Once in awhile they might even have king crabs or even sea cucumbers. I always take my family and friends here. They all love this place. This is also their favorite resturant. This resturant is newly remodled. There was an old peking garden that had dim sum which was really good. but now they have moved to snelling in the midway shopping center and is under new management. They have remodled everything and its very nice and clean, and I only like and feel comfortable in clean nice resturants. They dont have dim sum anymore but they have a buffet. So i dont know what they person under me is talking about! All the reviews under this one is about the old peking garden resturant. But the two below me, they arre about this new resturant. Inside there are 2 big flatscreen tvs. If you ask one of the wators/ waitress they let you watch what you want. This is a great resturant and I HIGHLY recommend it. Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing more

Only good for Dim Sum but BEWARE of the TIP CHARGE!!! 5/10/2008

If you plan to have your wedding reception here, please don't put a cash deposit because they won't return it to you if your plans change. This place have ok food. I agree with others that the service is poor. It's dirty so I can't imagine what goes on in the kitchen. I will only take my family here for dim sum because hopefully it's prepared fresh and not far away like Yangtze or Mandarin Kitchen due to high gas price. It's the only place beside Mai Village that serves dim sum in the Saint Paul area. BEWARE THAT THEY WILL ADD THE TAX BEFORE THEY TACK ON THE TIP. This is how they get people to pay more tip. So beware!!! Pros: dim sum Cons: poor service, dirty, tip overcharge more

ALWAYS A DRAMA SHOW 5/15/2007

I'm not sure what it is about the wait staff at this restaraunt but they're ALWAYS arguing. I was there with family on Sunday for dinner and we had front row seats to disputes about reservations and seating arrangements. Nonetheless, they weren't too concerned if their patrons were uncomfortable or flat out baffled w/their behavior. I've been to Peking many times for the salt & pepper oysters, seafood chow fun, fried walleye in black bean sauce & many more dishes but NEVER had i been there for the service. The new location had a lot more parking spaces and the bathrooms have improved drastically compared to what they used to have. It seems like they keep the lighting dimmed, almost to darkness to hide the uncleanliness of the place. Also, for a group of 4, a 20% gratuity charge was included... I guess it was for having to remind the staff twice that we didn't have utensils and then having to get up to flag someone down to have our glasses refilled and for the free show. From now on, I'll be ordering takeout from this place. Saves me the headache and also saves $15-20.00 (added gratuity charge) which I can use on a pair of tickets to a much more enjoyable ""theatre"". Pros: Best Salt & Peppered Oysters Ever! Cons: Service, Uncleanliness, Dark & Cold more
