Best

Fast and Amazing. Precisely how I like it.

Worst

everybody always tells me how good of a pizza north beach makes but it fails to impress me every time. maybe i just don't see it, but THAT is surely not the best pizza in the city...

Fantastic! 6/12/2005

Terrific toppings and if you love garlic, it's to die for! Friendly staff and fun ambience. more

Best Pizza in Town!!!! 6/12/2005

There is no doubt about it. North Beach Pizza, especially the one on Haight St. and the one on Stanyan St. has the best pizza in town!!! The dough, the toppings, all the cheese... no other single slice of pizza will fill you up and leave you this satisfied! I definitely recommend it. You will get quality and quantity food for your money! I'm from Europe. At North Beach Pizza on Haight St. we ate the best Pizza of our life! Congratulations !!!! Pros: best pizza, quantity of food, inexpensive more

delivery service from hell 3/6/2005

As it stands, they seem to have lost their driver, and my order with him. one hour has gone by since the driver left, 115 minutes since the order was placed. Never again. Pros: online ordering Cons: aweful delivery more

Late Sunday Frolic. Go Giants 5/12/2004

Wonderful restaurant. This place is great, the food is fantastic, and I'd like to mention, children will enjoy themselves. Carlos, I believe that's his name, is very warm and funny person and he is a great addition to this restaurants atmosphere. He had my son do the hula, when he got his Hawaiian pizza and that was so funny. I recommend this pizza restaurant to all families. Carlos goes beyond his duties to make you feel welcome, try it, you'll love it. Pros: Food, Workers, The heart of the city more

North Beach Pizza 12/11/2003

The San Mateo North Beach Pizza is equally great! Sometimes busy, but always friendly, efficient service and great pizza! more

northbeachpizza 9/4/2003

patrons can always get a extra thick crust though I have found them to be seldom needed. Pros: value, fast, good pizza more

El STINKO!!! 9/2/2003

Started the dinner with 1/2 Caesar salad for $3.95 The serving of watery greens was so small that a baby rabbit would have starved to death. The main course: a ""North Beach Special"" pizza. The crust was doughy. The sauce was vile. The sausage tasted like Jimmy Dean's. This was the single worst pizza that I've had since having the misfortune of ""dining"" at Papa Potrero's. Do not believe the positive reviews, obviously written by management. This was absolute garbage. You'd be better off eating out of a dumpster. Note: I ate at the original NB Pizza in North Beach several years ago and it it was quite good. For this ""restaurant"" to use the same name, well, it is simply an embarrassment. Pros: Pizza box was sturdy, They take US currency Cons: Overpriced, Inedible more

this place is WAAAAY too overrated 6/25/2003

everybody always tells me how good of a pizza north beach makes but it fails to impress me every time. maybe i just don't see it, but THAT is surely not the best pizza in the city. i never went to the haight restaurant, but i did try the one in north beach itself and, trust me, it's nothing special. blondie's is much better and a lot lot cheaper. Pros: pretty good pizza Cons: waaaaay too overrated more

Humbug, hype and false advertising 5/22/2003

Having eaten in North Beach location many times and seeing North Beach pizza all the time as the best rated pizza in San Francisco, I ordered pizza to be delivered from the Height Street location. It took nearly 90 minutes for the food to arrive and what a disappointment! Whatever was delivered only remotely resembled pizza, it was more like loaf of bread with some red sauce smeared over it. When we contactated the restaurant they were rude and offered half price coupon for the next order. Never again! Cons: Lousy Pizza, Lousy Service, Rip-off prices more

North Beach Pizza, now on Haight 3/20/2003

I was thrilled when I found out my favorite pizza place had a location in the Haight! I usually go to the one in North Beach but now I can get pizza delivered to my work anytime I want!! Cons: Not enought Parking more

What? Delicious! 2/12/2003

You think it is BLAND! This is some of the best pizza I have ever had. I often go to this little place in my neighborhood, but if I am near the Haight street store, I always go there. You can sit down or take out and it is awesome. I absolutely love this place and have always had good, consistent pizza here. more

Don't go there... 2/5/2003

Pizza was bland..... needs more flavor.. has too much cheese.. crust was OK.... more

My Rating System 12/24/2002

North Beach has, by far, the bestest pizza ever. Truly the best is from North Beach at Haight, but their franchise has a nice store in San Mateo as well. Pros: Value, Busy, Aromas Cons: parking more

This is how CA pizza gets a bad name 12/6/2002

I don't know why I keep trying this place thinking the food will improve. The pizza is sloppily made, has an uneven crust, always too much cheese and a bland sauce. I guess you could dress it up with fancy toppings, but if the basics aren't done right, a pizza just ends up being a wet mess of cheese and dough. This place is extremely popular due to the poor selection of pizza in the Haight street area and large number or tourists/pot heads Pros: its on Haight st, get it to go, late hours Cons: pizza is poorly made, its on Haight st, not a great value more

Top Quality 11/27/2002

North Beach Pizza (all of their locations) is excellent pizza. The shop in North Beach offers seating and more atmosphere than the others. Tasty, New York-style pizza, large pies, quality ingredients. And they deliver, too. Honestly, I chose several apartments based on whether they were within delivery range of these folks! more

any pizza is better 10/28/2002

all the north beach pizzas stink, lousy suace, not enough toppings, and crumby dough, almost any pizza is better, even frozen more

How do they make it soooo gooood? 8/2/2002

That sauce... that crust, I'm seriously salivating right now. I highly recommend the pepperoni and garlic pizza. Pros: Good Price, Great Food Cons: Parking in SF :( more

  • In Short
The pizza crusts are on the thin side and nothing to write home about, but the toppings are what make this one of the best pizza joints in the city. The selection is huge; be...
