Wanted to take my father to Nagel's to get some ammo for his 380, I was able to walk in and find it, purchase it and walk out about a 10 minutes later. My Dad drives up about 200 ...

The sales people at Nagel's I work with are friendly and they know what I am talking about when I describe it. Pricing there is the best I know of and I shop around. I read those other negative reviews and believe them to be dishonest. Nowhere else in the San Antonio has their inventory, period. My experiences at Nagel's have been good to excellent. I will return. more

The staff here is very knowledgeable in a variety of areas, and if the person you are talking to doesn't know they will be more than happy to get someone who does. The prices on new guns are PHENOMENAL. A new 226 is going for 759! (At the time I'm writing this) In used guns there was so much it was a little overwhelming, but the staff was more than happy to help me look. Will definitely be going back. more

Outstanding customer service and staff bent over backwards to make sure every question was answered. They took the time to show me all the merchandise I was considering and when I left and compared my purchase price and experience to other shops, I knew I made the right choice. I love this place. Highly recommended. Gilbert was my sales person and he was knowledgeable and very patient with someone who knew little about the present ""gun world."" The service was friendly and helpful, and I give it my highest recommendation. As a plus, their prices were much lower than the other stores I shopped here in San Antonio more

I went here as a first time gun buyer that is active duty military. The place had a massive used selection with new models in back. More accessories, knives, clothing and firearms, both classic and new than you can shake a stick at. There is definite grit to the place in a good way. No-frills shopping experience which is exactly what i was looking for. more

The service was exceedingly helpful. Being familiar with the m-16/m-4/ar15 platform only, the salesman was the most friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful that I've encountered in a long time while i learned about different handguns, choices, and options. This is now my gun store. No others needed. They've got a customer for life. 10/10, would buy from again. more

I found there web site on line, found the gun i wanted and had some ?'s so I called the on the land line ie phone the first person didn't have all the answers i needed but they said they were sure someone else could give me the answers i needed! I spoke with a gentlemen named Todd, not only did he answer all my questions but some i didn;t know i had. my order was placed and guns shipped the same day . my whole experiance was conducted in a top notch manner i wouldn't stop for a second in doing business with them again . I saw the other reviews and gave them a try, i think you should as well . My dealings with them has been five star all the way and I am a Picky guy more

This guy is who you need to talk to get the right weapon choice. If you are in Texas end your search for an honest place to go to get weapons. Nagels Gun Shop. Please move to Ohio where I am. Today I went to Nagel's for the first time. I was amazed with all the products. I was greeted inside the door by a female and a male who were working the knife section. They were very pleasant and helpful. I then proceeded to the next section where I found almost immediately what I was looking for. This Heckler & Koch gun that I was looking for is pretty hard to find. I was then waited on by a very courteous and professional salesman named Gilbert. He figured up my out the door price and I then purchased the pistol. Gilbert also directed me to the target ammunition for said gun. On my way out I looked at Heckler & Koch (H&K) Benchmark knives. That purchase will be on my next visit. Over all this was a great first time experience at Nagel's. Thanks guys, keep up the good work. more

Returned to Nagels today for my second purchase. Their selection is hard to beat and prices are competitive (unless compared to online prices). Ask for Fast Eddie, he's very friendly and knows what he's talking about. If you are wanting an FFL transfer, I would look elsewhere. They will only transfer if it is an item they don't carry and the fee is high. more

It's been a few years since I've been to NAGEL'S but I went there in response to an S&W AR-15 for sale. After reading some of the negative reports on the internet, I was half expecting some BS shell game and a story about how they had just sold the last one and don't know when they will get more in. \r To my surprise, they had what I went there for and the price was as advertised - $180.00 less than the two stores I checked on the way there. The service was very good and while waiting, I overheard some other sales people giving what I thought was some very good and accurate information to other customers. I also bought some ammunition and after checking the price at a couple of other places later on, I should have bought more when I was there. Some of the prices I saw for other types of ammunition were higher than I typically pay but the American Eagle 5.56 was a bargain at $7.99/box of 20. I'll be back. Great selection and knowledgeable staff. more

Nagel established a retail store front and they began selling firearms, accessories and gunsmithing services. With strength, drive, and sacrifice the Nagel family transformed an idea in a garage to one of the largest family owned gun stores in Texas.
