Like alot of Subaru owners, I love my Subaru. So when I set out to find a mechanic, I wanted the best, and I believe I found them. I really liked that they took the time to explain things and made some recommendations to postpone some work until it was absolutely needed, which would save me some money. All the work was completed and the car is running great. more

MyMechanicSF is the only place I'll take my car...and I take the care of my car very very seriously. Here's why I love this place: Centrally located in SOMA SF, professional and friendly front office folks who know how to answer and talk on the phone, thoroughly explains everything that was done in a way I understand (and I'm picky!), never tries to upsell me crap don't need or push a sale on me just to 'upsell,' I never feel overcharged, and my car always runs so much better after being worked on here. Plus they simply have more personality than all the other places I've taken my car to and that counts for a lot. Pros: Personable Staff Cons: None more

I have a 96' Toyota Sienna and my check engine light came on. The service adviser who assisted me was very knowledgeable and friendly. Knowing that I had to rush to work, they gave me a ride back to my office. My car was ready by the end of the day with check engine light gone. Overall, I give this shop 5 stars!!! I found this place on citysearch, and I want to thank all the previous reviewers. I had my toyota towed in after a van ran into my side and totally screwed up my suspension and front end. My experience with the garage and alice was great. She goes the extra mile to make sure you are happy. She gave me an awesome price and finished the job very promptly. She knows how to handle the insurance people. She is very personable herself and impressed me when she didnt even charge me for the additional minor repairs i asked for. Compared to my other experiences, they did a better job at a better price and they did it with a much better attitude. more

This is the best mechanic shop to go to. There's excellent customer service, not to mention excellent work on your car. I've been going there for the past 3 years to do all my maintainance work, and it always comes out worry free. Other places I've been to usually come out very pricey and for some odd reason, there almost always something else wrong with my car about a week after i bring it to other shops. But since I've been going to The Garage, my car always comes back to me in excellent condition. When I feel I have a problem with my car, they always find out the problem and fix it quickly and at a very reasonable price. I have recommended The Garage to my friends who live in Modesto, and even they prefer to drive 2 hours to the city to go to The Garage to have their car fixed. We all know we can trust them, and prefer to go to them any day. Pros: Great service, quick, reasonable price, fixes my car the RIGHT way Cons: kind of hard location to find, but well worth it! more

I went to The Garage because he received good ratings. I can see why. I went there to get my ignition timing adjusted because I failed my smog check because of it. I went there and was greeted by Danny. I explained my situation and he checked my timing. He told me that there was nothing wrong with my timing and that I should not have failed for it. He was very helpful, answered all my questions, and didnt even charge me! He earned my trust, I now have a new repair shop to take care of all my car needs. Pros: Friedly, Honest, Fair Pricing more

Based on the two prior reviews I felt comfortable trying The Garage for my 99 Lexus. I found them friendly and as knowledgeable as the dealership. After a helpful inspection I authorized a 40k mile tune-up and some clutch repair. Although I didn't authorize a fix to a slow moving electronic window, they did toss in a quick lube in the window track -- a nice touch. As a first time web customer they also offered a good discount. Reasonable price and turnaround for the work needed. A little hard to find--the entrance off of Folsom St is easy to miss-- but worth it. So far, so good! more

I had to get the cluth replaced on my acura TL type S. The dealer quoted me a ridiculous $1800 so I called around for better pricing. These guys were one of the least expensive, but mainly I was very happy with the nice customer service on the phone as well as in person. They had all the parts, completed the job the same day, and made me feel very comfortable giving them my business. They were honest and knowledgeable. If you are looking for a place to take your car, give them a try. Pros: knowledgeable, Good pricing Cons: no loaner cars more

Thanks guys for referring me to The Garage. These guys are affiliated with a repair shop that is just as great as the body shop. I was able to get my accident repaired and my car tuned up at the same time! Hows that for convenience! more
