Worst

There's nothing bad that can be said about the interior; mainly because the music is so damned loud that you can't tell your breakfast pals anything without yelling at them.

Get soup! All the soups are fantastic. Also the potatoes and scrambles. In fact, I've never had anything that wasn't good and I eat here every week. The staff are delightful, too. Not only great service, but great people. more

Milo's City Cafe 5/16/2010

My girlfriend and I went to Milo's yesterday (Saturday morning) and were surprised to see no line to get in. All of the best places in Portland always have a line on Sat. morning. That should have been our first clue. Pros: ? Cons: Everything more

Went there for lunch on Sunday. I had the Smoked Salmon Hash. The home fries tasted like they were made from leftover baked potatoes and they were just luke warm. The salmon was dired out. My husband had a turkey sandwich and the bread was dry. It came with a side of home fries and they were colder and tasted even more stale than the ones on my plate. The waitress who took our order was flippant and when we mentioned we didn't like the food, she just shrugged and walked away. The wait staff and the cooks seem to be pretty full of themselves. Great place to eat. 3/6/2010

Saturday 3/6/2010 Milo?s Restaurant. My girlfriend and I just had dinner at Milo?s on NE Broadway in Portland OR. I?ve never been inspired to write a review before, but for this evening I had to. The people and service were excellent. Awesome food and our drinks were some of the best we have ever had. We sat at the bar witch turned out to be a great idea. We talked with the staff a bit and enjoyed our meal. We decided on the Spinach Salad, the Hungarian Mushroom Soup and the Cod special. My girlfriend had the salad and we shared the soup and Cod. For drinks, she had a Margarita and I had a Bloody Mary. Our complements to the bar tender, cook, and wait staff. If you are in Portland and you want to get a bite to eat, definitely check out Milo?s Caf?. more

Great breakfast spot 11/25/2009

I really like this place for breakfast. The menu is pretty big and everything I have had on it has been good. The place can get busy so I recommend going before 10am on the weekends if you go for brunch. Pros: great food, good quality Cons: some of the waitstaff, busy, long wait more

Dirty Dining 10/16/2009

Don't sit by the windows and look at the gap between the floor and the window. You can find food there from 1940. Gross. I ordered the waffle and got a soggy toaster waffle with sour whipped cream. They did take it away, but I declined a replacement. For obvious reasons. And after looking at the floor . . . . Pros: Nice waitstaff (when they get to you) Cons: Used to have good food more

Would Skip This Place 9/20/2009

Had the eggs benedict which were overcooked and the ham tasted like cheap lunch meat. My wife had the french toast which were made of two thin pieces of sourdough. Service was good. Place was clean. Prices were reasonable. Just average to below average food. Pros: Good Service Cons: Bland Food, Small Portions more

Good & Bad 6/1/2009

We've eaten at Milo's several times over the last 14 months and the consistency of the food is all over the place. We've had some truly delicious meals here and on other occasions it's been awful. Most recently two of us had lunch here and ordered completely different things (a hamburger, a vegetarian sandwich) and neither of them tasted of anything, completely blah. We've also had several dinners here where the meat will be barely warmed through yet the vegetables burnt to a crisp. I hope they get their act together because when the food is on it is so good. more

Great for lunch! 5/1/2009

This place is awesome! I had seen it on one of the city search emails before, and had saved it in my favorites. We decided to do take out for an office lunch, and it was so great. Mouth watering great! We got the seafood linguini, seafood de jour and the mediterraean pasta. All were fantastic. The only con is the restaurant is REALLY busy, but when it's this good what do you expect? Pros: Big portions, small prices Cons: Restaurant is slammed more

Consistently terrific food and a very good value 1/13/2009

I love this place. Feels like going home for dinner to the home you wish you had. We eat there 3 times a month and I've probably eaten 60 meals there. Everything on the menu is cooked to perfection and served at the right time. The various waiters we've had, except for one, have been just perfect additions to the place and our meals. Overrated 12/25/2008

I live a few blocks from Milos but had been putting off going even after the commercial on heavy rotation made me want to try the eggs benedict. My husband and I shared a Monte Cristo and crab cake benedict. The Monte Cristo was decent but on the small side. Overall it was the highlight. The crab cake benedict was a huge disapointment. The egg was way over cooked. The yolk was dry and hard. The english muffin was burnt and hard too. The temperature of the potatoes and the benedict was warm at best. I order a peach mimosa and it came out with a tacky umbrella and a plastic mermaid on the side of my glass. Why waste food cost on something useless and tacky, invest that money into a heat lamp instead. The service was ok, not outstanding and not horrible. The waiter had good intentions but was too busy and just ""going through the motions."" I suggest he keep his tips somewhere other than his front pocket so the whole place is reminded to tip. His shirt was thin material and the money incredibly visable. more

Great Breakfast 9/14/2008

Milo's has great breakfast food. The Eggs Benedict are wonderful as are the pancakes and omelets. It can be busy, but it you are going solo you can sit at the bar by the kitchen. great breakfast food! Everything on the menu is amazing, and they had a lot of vegetarian options! great location. great prices. my only gripe is that i feel they are short staffed waited a long time to get my coffee...and they need to invest in an air conditioner. Felt like we had to rush because it was soooo hot in there. Pros: the AMAZING food. Cons: short staffed, hot as hell in there. more

Great Neighborhood Bistro 7/24/2008

We always feel like the crew at Milo's cares about us. Breakfast, lunch & dinner are consistently good, no real suprises but good food with a creative spark. With all of the expensive restaurants in town, it's nice to have a place that you can get a good meal for a reasonable price. Try it, you won't be disappointed. Go early, go often 7/8/2008

Great eggs benedict. Best in town in my opinion as it is served in several creative styles. I particularly enjoy the blackstone as well as the crab cake eggs benedict. Cool Portland feel to this spot. Come early (before 10:00) if you don't want to wait for breakfast/brunch seating. The service here can be a little rushed as they get very busy during breakfast service. Food is superbly prepared and seasoned to perfection.
