FENCE problems in Walsh Trails 5/17/2012

We had a really great experience with Wilshire, prior to their bankruptcy/buyout/whatever in 2011. But now one year out of warranty we are having problems. In what we can only think was a cost saving move, they cheaped out and used landscape timbers for fence posts. And after less than 2 years, those rotted out. The fences in Walsh Trails are falling down around some of the homeowners!! BEWARE before moving into our neighborhood! more

Terrible Quality Home! 7/9/2010

The entire building process was horrible. There was one mistake after another from this company, and absolutely no accountability. The builders tried to cut corners every chance they got and oops...accidentally over charged us over 10k. Luckily I was very meticulous and tried to keep tabs on all their errors. Finish out was a complete disaster - I think they hire the worst painters they can possibly find! And now, less than 2 years after the home was constructed the roof is leaking due to poor construction around the chimney. Stay away from this builder! It's not worth it to pay for an overpriced home that is POOR QUALITY!!! Cons: Customer service is no good and quality of home is WORSE! more

BE AWARE BEFORE YOU BUY FROM WILSHIRE HOMES 3/31/2010

ALERT: Wilshire Homes had closed down its Houston Division and filed Chapter 7 bancruptcy in federal court. Even though they are still in business in San Antonio and Austin, future home-buyers and customers in these cities should be aware, they have been extremely poor in responding to warranty services and support. They have a tendency to drag. They have not been in good faith to fix things up for home owners after purchase. Once they declare bancruptcy like they did in Houston, you will be stuck with all the deficiencies.\r Cons: Bad company to do business with more

Overpriced and misleading 6/18/2009

This was my second home from a builder. The first one was a dream conpared to this company. Like the other reviewer stated. The builder accepted money for upgrades which it never did. When you discovered at closing they were not done. They would refund your money. The paint and other products used during construction were cheap and started to fall apart after\r two years.Had over 100 warrenty repairs in the first year.\r Paint problems, electrical, plumbing, ect. Installed cheap ""good neighbor"" fence which is falling appart.\r Like to use cheap veneir cabinets. The veneirs started to boil up after a couple years. The builders sales rep continuely mislead you about the neighborhood, HOA restrictions and construction time. \r Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.. Pros: warrenty service during 1st year only was good. Cons: Didn't do upgrades, cheap products, excessive repairs more

Worst Builder Around 7/20/2004

The models look great, but don't expect any customer service from Wilshire. They told me 45 days to finish my house and 4 months later - still waiting. Also, don't pay for upgrades, because they charge you for them, but somehow forget to put them in your house and then charge you anyway. Don't do anything with these guys unless you have a great lawyer and a huge amount of cash to blow for fun! Pros: Nice Looking Homes Cons: , Terrible Manager, Liars more
