This is one of the many examples of a place that achieved notoriety some years ago and has let it go to their heads. Watch out for extra charges ($2 for avocado on the burrito). ...

Great food (of course) but expensive 9/5/2006

La Taqueria is widely known as one of the best Mexican places in San Francisco. It's a must-stop for anyone in the Mission. Four friends and I treked over the Mission to eat here and it was worth it. The soft tacos are great, the burrito was good but Zona Rosa or Gordos is better. It's definitely pricey, so make sure you're ready for a $10 bill and some change. more

The best reason not to keep kosher 9/24/2004

If I could only have one meal before I died, this would be it. Some pork tacos with guacamole, a steak quesadilla on a corn tortilla, and a canteloupe or watermelon juice. It was the one thing that kept me sane while living in the soul-less, vapid pit they call the bay area. more
