The BEST in the business!!! 11/17/2011

All I can say is that this is my *go-to* place for great sports massages. As a pretty hard core athlete, I do about 8 different sports including some on a highly competitive level: open water and pool swimming; biking; running; rollerblading; kayaking, triathlon; yoga (bikram)). Needless to say, I'm tough on my body. After moving to LA a year ago, I discovered LA Sports Massage. I am VERY particular with the trainers I use to keep me healthy, happy, functional, competitive and pain free for all my sports. I really can't say enough positive things about this place. For me, it's convenient to my home as I'm in Marina Del Rey but more importantly, the therapists there KNOW their stuff. I prefer ACT (Active Release Therapy) in addition to the usual deep tissue massage and Mike is fantastic in terms of using this technique. He's also an avid sports enthusiast and was really helpful in fixing me up during rotator cuff overuse issues (due to swimming - my longest event was a 25K or 15.5 MI OW swim) and a heel spur due to lots of running. Although I will say that when I can't see Mike due to my schedule, all of the other therapists I've had here were great as well. I've only had top-notch massages here. It's also very easy to get in to see someone ASAP. This is a huge bonus for me as a busy athlete with a tight schedule. I highly recommend LA Sports Massage and I continue to go here regularly! more

World's Best Sports Massage! 9/18/2011

I am in love with LA Sports Massage! I'm a runner and have been going there for a year and some change. I had a bad knee injury about a year ago and because of LA Sports Massage, I was able to cross the finish line of a half marathon I had been training for! I couldn't have done it without them. Jason is my guy and he is truly amazing! He is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, kind, and talented. He always makes me feel comfortable and I love that he tells me what he's doing and what he feels every step of the way. He breaks it all down for you and makes sure I understand what he's doing. It always amazes me how he can get to the source of the problem and knows exactly what to do for it! As an athlete with all sorts of aches and pains associated with my sport, I would never go anywhere else! I trust LA Sports Massage completely and am always greeted with a smile upon my arrival. They are truly the best! more

Excellent sports massage! 5/11/2011

I had a great sports massage here two days ago with Kristen - I'm really impressed! I have had shoulder and calf/achilles problems for awhile and despite getting massages every 2-4 weeks, I haven't been able to loosen up and not feel injured. After my massage at LA Sports Massage I've been feeling SO much better! Kristen was able to loosen and relieve a lot of the knots I've had in my neck and shoulders as a result of swimming for years and my achilles hasn't been as painful when I walk or run. I left feeling like a brand new person! I highly recommend coming here for a good recover sports massage. Kristen was awesome and Dennis (who I think may be the owner?) seemed really cool and seemed to have a lot of knowledge too. I will definitely be coming back soon! more

Worth Your Time 1/24/2011

I decided to make an appointment on a Friday night so I called expecting the answering machine and to maybe hear back the next day. Dennis picked up at 11:30pm on a Friday night! He was super nice and made an appointment for me the next day. (I hope I don't encourage everyone to do this as I'm sure he doesn't need calls at all hours). The massage with Kristin was great. You could tell she knew how to target the problem areas. I went in to address my overworked arms from being at a desk (been dealing with it for 2 years), plantar fasciitis, and hips/lower abs. The hips/abs are almost completely pain free after one session. I think I've noticed improvements in my arms and feet, but will need more time to tell. I definitely plan on going back. more

So glad I found them! 11/26/2010

I have been having calf muscle pains from over-exercising and I couldn't go to a physical therapist anymore because my insurance won't authorize me. Dennis and his team helped tremendously with their massages and educated me what's happening to my muscles and future preventative measures. They are very friendly and very eager to help. I always feel better after my 30 minute massage and have been going continuously to fully recover. more

Best Massage in Town! 11/19/2010

I ran across LA Sports Massage as I perused the Internet for a place I could stop on the way home from the office. Although I love the spa experience, I never seem to get a decent massage from any of them. Highly frustrating when you're tense and sore from a workout and in need of some intuitive body work. I met with Mike Krasovec and immediately felt at ease with his confidence and knowledge of anatomy and physiology. It's always a better massage when the therapist is as active as you are (or more!) and knows instinctively what muscle groups are in need of the most "loving". With some massage and stretching, I was ready to get back on the road and log some miles without any stiffness or pain. LA Sports Massage will be my new go-to place for all my massages from now on! more

Best in LA! 10/22/2010

Dennis a great guy and gives back to the community in many ways. His team of therapist are the best in the business and I would recommend anyone to give them a try. Thanks for all you do Dennis! Paul more

The very best 10/17/2010

Getting a massage at LA Sports Massage is like no other. It is the very best. Relaxing and feels great but it's different from most massage in that it is therapeutic with lasting results. I highly highly recommend. more

True Healing Massage for Athletes! 10/14/2010

Dennis and his staff are amazing. They truly understand physiology and really know how to relieve painful or inflexible muscles. They can really get you moving again! They are also extremely community minded, sponsoring such organizations as the LA Tri Club, LA Leggers, Team in Training, the La Grange Velo Club and the Pay It Forward Challenge. They're equally welcoming to beginning sports enthusiasts and world champion athletes. Give them a try! more

The Best Sports Massage 10/13/2010

Dennis' crew is the best. I have gone to LA Sports Massage before all my races. I can't say enough good things about Dennis and his people. They are the best. more

Saved my race! 10/12/2010

LA Sports Masssage saved my race in Lake Placid where I qualified for the Ironman in Hawaii. Thank you! Thank you Dennis! more

Well worth the money 10/12/2010

Massage is the quintessential "personal" thing and a review of a massage place might make as much sense as say, rating your favorite memory against someone else's. That being said, there's something we all are expecting in a great massage: bodywork that feels good where we need it. That requires communication, a relaxing, but not precious, atmosphere, and an attentive and skilled bodyworker. LA Sports Massage provided all that. I called on a weekday morning and got a same-day appointment with Michelle. The office is a nondescript storefront on Washington Blvd. near Culver City, and looks a bit sterile on the inside, kind of like a dentist's lobby. But don't let outer appearances sway you. I came for one thing only: to get a good massage that was, as Goldilocks would say, not too hard and not too soft, but just right. I got the Sports massage with Michelle. She was great. No-nonsense, very confident and calm, not chatty when I told her I was not a big talker. Great attention to the quirkiness of this particular cyclist's body; competent communication, not one of these massage therapists you find in chiropractic offices who go on "auto pilot." It took me a little while to relax and I got there with Michelle. The music player in the room even had a dock so I could hook up my own iPod and listen to music that I found relaxing instead of what was playing. Also, it wasn't overly air-conditioned, but spare and clean and neat and mmmm I just melted into the massage and emerged blissed out. I will definitely be returning to LA Sports Massage again. I've paid as little as $39 for a massage at other places, and this $90 was definitely worth it. more

Renzo is the best! 10/11/2010

LOVE this place!! Thanks to Renzo... I had the best sports massage. He certainly knew what he was doing and has a good read on people. He was very helpful and knowledgable. I will definitely be coming back with my tight calves. Thank you, Renzo and Dennis! You guys are awesome! more

LA Sports Massage 7/26/2010

Renzo really knows how to work on your problem spots. He did wonders on my tight calf muscles and made some good suggestions about other steps I could take to help with the tightness in my calf muscles. I would recommend him for any serious athlete! Pros: Great sports massage Cons: None more

my body thanks me. 7/25/2010

I have been put through the ringer. and I mean this in the best possible way. Seriously. If you want a massage that can really pinpoint areas given by very well trained sports massage specialists, then this is your place. Do you have to be an "athlete" to come here? Hell no. I know many an athlete that has benefitting from visiting this place, but your average, everyday mortal can also benefit from these targeted techniques. Is it going to be all "trickling fountain in the background, time to go to sleep"? no. Are you going to feel some serious work being done to problem areas? yup. Sean (Shawn? Shaun? - sorry!) spent time on the areas I had noted in my form and really made notable progress on alleviating some tightness. He found some new spots where I did not know I was tight, but I think it brings joy to massage therapists to find those happy little spots, don't you agree? He showed me a little stretch I could do for my fasciitis tendon that will help me as I put in longer miles in training. He spent time on my very abused lower back and my even more abused shoulders. I finished the session feeling a bit sore, but for the better. This place is clean, there seems to be ample parking, it is easy to get to (right across from Rainbow Market) and I look forward to my next session. Pros: knowledgeable, experienced Cons: no fluffy robes and slippers. ;) more

Renzo Rocks! 6/25/2010

I had my first massage with Renzo last night and it was amazing. Having had massages before but never a sports massage, I had no idea what to expect. Five minutes in and I knew I was being treated to something special. After little instruction, he honed in on all of my problem areas with firm yet gentle touches. After an hour, I was hooked. I walked out feeling like million bucks and even better today. I would highly recommend LA Sports Massage to any athlete, novice like myself to elite. Treat yourself, you will not be disappointed. Pros: Skill, technique, communication Cons: None more

Great for sports injuries 6/16/2010

LA Sports Massage is great! They treatment is effective and not as painful as I was imagining. After 1 treatment I noticed a significant decrease in pain/ tightness. Dennis works other muscles that he feels may attribute to the problem and this makes a big difference. Pros: Very effective Cons: only 1 night availbale for late appoitments more

Highly Recommend LA SPORTS MASSAGE 6/8/2010

I'm very happy to have re-connected with LA Sports Massage at their new location on Washington Blvd. I had requested very specific work on deep-seated,hard-to-reach muscle groups. Dennis and Jason were 'spot-on' with their work. As a cyclist, I have seen an improvement with leg speed and power based on massage work. LA Sports Massage staff are true professionals with progressive knowledge in sports massage. We're lucky to have them on the westside! Location is convenient and parking is abundant. Pros: Experienced Massage Staff Cons: none more

LA's best sports massage 3/30/2010

Dennis at LA Sports Massage has just started working on my calves and hamstrings - muscles I've pulled over and over for years. They already feel better! He's also super easy to talk to, nice and professional. I can tell he's just as committed to my health as I am. I'm really glad I found LA Sports Massage. Pros: Nice, Professional, Effective, Miracle workers Cons: None more

Lifesaver for endurance athletes 1/4/2010

I heard about LA Sports Massage from the coaches at Team in Training. I hadn't been running very long when I developed horrible pain in my right knee due to IT Band tightness. I rested, stretched, used the foam roller, went to a physical therapist, and strengthened but I still couldn't run a mile even. Finally, I made an appointment at LA Sports Massage. After one massage, I was able to run noticeably better than before. After two massages, I had no problem and ran five miles three days later. A week later, I made it to eight. The massage isn't exactly enjoyable (I had bruises to prove it) but the staff is very professional and made me feel very comfortable. I cannot recommend this place enough for anyone with lingering injuries that they just can't fight. Pros: Works like a charm Cons: None! more
