Reunion location was good 5/19/2010

Back in town for a high school reunion. We got wrist bands, and open bar for three hours. It was a good atmosphere to see old pals and I had a great time. I had never been here before but I liked it. Food is suprisingly yummy. more

Good bar food 9/28/2005

The food at John Barleycorn is exceptionally good for bar food. It's definitely worthy to be called a "restaurant." The fish and chips are great. They are served with freshly-made chips (not fries). The Greek salad is also very good - always made with fresh ingredients. The drinks are on the expensive side but they often have drink specials. The main room is typically very dark. The backroom is very clubby. Ladies...the restrooms are top-notch! Usually very clean and they even have the automatic toilet seat covers. more

Barleycorn 8/11/2005

If you like loud and rowdy bars, this is the one for you. The place is completely packed on weekends, and is frequently a place where singles go to find other singles. The drink selection here is on par with other bars, and the prices are decent. If you want to have any sort of an audible conversation with someone, though, I'd go elsewhere. more
