Best

I always have my pedicure done by Chau. She is a fantastic person and technician. I always enjoy my time with her at inSpa!

Worst

Inspa is not the place to go if you are really looking for pampering. It has kind of an assembly line feel. The prices are very reasonable and the no tipping policy is great for...

Not in the U village at least! 4/9/2006

I think the prices are pretty good here - but I have had more than my share of cranky employees at this location! Add that to the day that I went in for my pedicure and they somehow no longer had me scheduled for an appointment (and basically just said oh too bad - we have openings next week) and I won't be going back to this inspa location! more

Cold and Unfeeling 4/2/2006

INSpa in the University Village is hardly deserving of the term "spa" at all. The setting is more like a doctor's office (the walls, the employee's attire, the products are all stark white!) than a spa. While other spa's are minimalist in terms of atmosphere, but still provide great service, this spa is lacking in pretty much every category. I was dismayed when receiving a facial that they kept me fully clothed and thus, extremely uncomfortable, during the entire service (which is not proper spa etiquette). The high prices were not reflective of the atmosphere, employees, or services.... rather, you leave INSpa feeling as if you have just had a visit to the doctors rather then a relaxing spa. Take your hard-earned money elsewhere to get pampered. more

No thanks. 3/25/2006

I had a really terrible experience at InSpa, which was unfortunate. My husband bought me a gift certificate for a facial, and I was eager for my appointment. When I arrived I was briskly chauffered to my facial room, where I was told to get in the bed. I asked where I should change first, and they said that all facials are performed in your street clothes. I was bummed. Had I known I was going to be in my clothes, I would have worn sweat pants, not jeans. The service itself seriously left something to be desired. She was peforming extractions on very sensitive tissue and it was making my eyes water. She told me to, "Hold on, I'm almost done". It was excrutiating and not what you pay almost $100 for. I noticed little to no improvement in my skin, and will never be back. more

Massages: Cheap and Tasteful 3/9/2006

My first time ever getting a massage was at InSpa. I was extremely shy and unsure about the whole process. However when I walked in the door I was instantly relaxed. The staff walked me through the process and asked me what areas were my worst. I have a lot of stress at my job and they were able to pin point the exact area that needed the most help. The half hour massage was cheap and they require NO tipping. I highly recommend this place if your new in the massage world and want to try it out. more

No Frills Here 8/30/2005

Inspa is not the place to go if you are really looking for pampering. It has kind of an assembly line feel. The prices are very reasonable and the no tipping policy is great for clients, but probably does not draw the best clinicians. I have had several services here, waxing, manicures and pedicures, and each was "okay", but not great. If you are looking for pure maintenance - must wax that unibrow or else - Inspa serves its purposes. However, if you are looking for a true "spa experience", look elsewhere. more

You get what you pay for 6/14/2005

Wedged in a corner by Barnes & Noble, this place offers up no frills services in the spa genre. The only problem with that -- a spa isn't the time to look for "no frills". You should be relaxing and enjoying whatever service you're getting. The services here are inexpensive, so they may be worth it for some people. This place is easy to get to, they can get you in and out rather quickly. However, most people I know would rather not skimp on these types of services. In the end the place seems very forgettable. If you've *ever* been to an upscale spa, this place will leave you feeling unfulfilled. more

Editorial
  • In Short
The atmosphere lacks the sometimes snobbish attitude at more sophisticated spas--which is nice. But it gains a retail feel as part of University Village. Bottles and jars of InSpa products for man, woman and child fill the shelves in the light-filled foyer. The spa offers massage, facials, waxing, manicures and pedicures. If you want a pedicure, book far in advance, especially in the summer.
