I am only giving this shop one star because I have to - I would rather give it zero stars.
I bought my wedding dress at IDB, and when I came in to get fitted for the dress, they took my measurements and recommended a size for me - they told me to go with the size that would be a little big on me, so I could be sure to sit comfortably, and we would just tailor to top parts a little.
well, when my mom and I went to pick up the dress, I tried it on. It was so tight that I couldn't breathe!!! And I know that I didn't gain any weight since the fitting, especially in my ribcage, where it compressed the most. The girls at the store told me not to worry, I could get the sides let out a little, just enough to make this "bigger" size dress comfortable. Well, that was a huge lie.
I took the dress to a tailor, who told me that we can't let out the sides because the embroidery on my dress went over all of the seams. She suggested I put in one of those lace-up backs, which doesn't match the style of my vintage-y dress at ALL. So I said no to that, and we went for a MUCH more time-consuming alteration, opening up the back lower so that I can breathe on my wedding day.
In addition to the "bigger" dress being too small, I found that the length is wrong - yes, my $100 "Custom" length requires that I wear 4-inch heels, so that I don't step on my dress. They even measured me in heels!!! WTF?
When I called to inform them of the mistakes that were made, they said that I am responsible for the dress size- they just make "recommendations," but it is up to me to make the final choice. Now why on earth would that be my final choice? They are supposed to be the "experts." Well, clearly they don't know what they are doing. Had I known that they employ people with an IQ of a gerbil at this store, I would have insisted on checking the sizes myself.
I asked for some kind of refund for what will inevitably be a huge alteration bill, and they refused. I have a good mind to report them to the Better Business Bureau.
