they really deserve zero stars 9/14/2009

I am only giving this shop one star because I have to - I would rather give it zero stars. I bought my wedding dress at IDB, and when I came in to get fitted for the dress, they took my measurements and recommended a size for me - they told me to go with the size that would be a little big on me, so I could be sure to sit comfortably, and we would just tailor to top parts a little. well, when my mom and I went to pick up the dress, I tried it on. It was so tight that I couldn't breathe!!! And I know that I didn't gain any weight since the fitting, especially in my ribcage, where it compressed the most. The girls at the store told me not to worry, I could get the sides let out a little, just enough to make this "bigger" size dress comfortable. Well, that was a huge lie. I took the dress to a tailor, who told me that we can't let out the sides because the embroidery on my dress went over all of the seams. She suggested I put in one of those lace-up backs, which doesn't match the style of my vintage-y dress at ALL. So I said no to that, and we went for a MUCH more time-consuming alteration, opening up the back lower so that I can breathe on my wedding day. In addition to the "bigger" dress being too small, I found that the length is wrong - yes, my $100 "Custom" length requires that I wear 4-inch heels, so that I don't step on my dress. They even measured me in heels!!! WTF? When I called to inform them of the mistakes that were made, they said that I am responsible for the dress size- they just make "recommendations," but it is up to me to make the final choice. Now why on earth would that be my final choice? They are supposed to be the "experts." Well, clearly they don't know what they are doing. Had I known that they employ people with an IQ of a gerbil at this store, I would have insisted on checking the sizes myself. I asked for some kind of refund for what will inevitably be a huge alteration bill, and they refused. I have a good mind to report them to the Better Business Bureau. more

Nicest staff! 3/21/2009

Good: Fun staff, Best selection that I had seen anywhere, Prices were as low or lower than David's and MUCH nicer dresses and experience.. Improvements: Bigger! Although I liked the intimate experience and charm of the store.. more

Satisfied Bride 10/30/2006

I had such a great experience here! I didn't plan my wedding very far in advance and had a difficult time finding a dress, well a dress store to be honest that I liked. My friend who had bought her dress here a few years ago scheduled an appointment to go try on and I am so glad! We had a lot of fun with the girls that work there and really enjoyed ourselves. The first dress that I tried on here was "the one" but, I tried a few more just to be sure. I was able to buy the dress that they had in the store and take it home the same day which helped my stress level A LOT! The location was very convenient for me since I just got a condo in the neighborhood. I really appreciated the patience and low pressure sales at this store. I am recommending them to anyone that I hear getting married! My husband cried when he saw me on our wedding day and really loved my dress. It made me so happy that I just had to share! 3 Cheers for this happy place! 9/17/2006

I had the best experience buying a gown from this local boutique. I had previously bought my gown in Montana when I was home visiting family and the store there went out of business and left me stranded without a dress. I went to I Do Bridal down the street and the gal that helped me was so nice and listened to my whole long, sob story. I found a beautiful gown there that fit really well and bought it and took it home that day. It was such a good and happy experience it made me forget (at least for a while) about the stress of my situation. I found the store to be very organized and the staff was very cheerful and fun. Not the stuffy and snobby experience that I had expected. I recommend them to anyone I know getting married! more

Great reasonable selection, but be careful... 9/16/2006

I bought my dress from I Do Bridal, and yes it was beautiful and very reasonable compared to other stores. The only caveat was that they do not have an alterations department. You can use the lady that comes in once a week, but it's hard to get an appointment after work for us working ladies. Also, I wasn't happy with my alterations. My dress didn't fit very well at all, and now I have picture after picture of my wedding with me pulling at my dress. A friend of mine had basically the same experience. Be careful gals, alterations are VERY important. more

Happy Bride 7/6/2006

I had such a great experience at the shop when I was searching for a gown. I am not a very frilly girl so, I was worried about doing the whole "Wedding Dress" thing. The staff was so nice and even thought it was really busy (and a little crowded) I got very good help and attention and found the perfect dress. The price was very reasonable and they let me purchase the one off the floor so I didn't have to wait for my dress to arrive. They also had the best selection of shoes and bridesmaid dresses that I had seen anywhere. Not just in miniature sample sizes either! I would highly recommend them to any bride looking for a laid back shopping experience and beautiful dresses! more

Great gown selection & service 12/30/2005

I Do Bridal is a store I routinely refer brides to when they want a reasonably priced dress, great selection and friendly service. Make sure to make an appointment, so you're assured a dressing room since the store isn't huge, square-footage wise, but the knowledge of the owner and her staff is excellent and you're guaranteed to be treated well. more

The Best Place for Brides! 8/21/2005

After searching at a few different fancy "upscale" boutiques for a wedding gown, I went to I Do Bridal because it was down the street from my house. What a wonderful find! I wished I had never wasted my time going anywhere else. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Unlike other bridal gown shops, I never felt condescended towards by the staff. I also never felt like bait on a hook, which is a nice factor in a business that is usually commission driven. The selection is wonderful and ranges from affordable to pricier. There is a bridal gown to suit any bride's taste here. In addition, there is a great selection of bridesmaid dresses, flower girl dresses, shoes, veils and headpieces, etc. I would advise any bride to check here first when looking for their gown, you may find you will not need to go anywhere else. It really offers everything you would want as a bride. I visited the store several times before making the decision on exactly what gown I wanted to wear on my wedding day and was welcomed every time by the lovely staff. We also found the bridesmaid dresses there. I Do Bridal is a great neighborhood gem! more

Excellent bridal shop.... 8/18/2005

Overall I DO has a huge selection of bridal gowns and a large supply of bridesmaid dresses as well as accessories and shoes. The staff is extremely courteous and patient and offer a no-pressure environment to make your decisions. Weekends get quite busy, but weekdays are very quite. The store is a little small so bringing a large group is not recommended. more

No pressure sales 8/9/2005

Unlike many bridal shops, you can try on the wedding dresses without a store "helper" in the room with you. There is no sales pressure, and you are free to come back and try on a dress as many times as necessary to reach a decision. There are a large number of dresses available to try on (but only in one size - usually a fairly small one), as well as wedding accessories. For those who crave princess treatment, it might disappoint, but for those of us to prefer a lower-key, more private experience, it's a welcome relief. more
