cream vintage has the opportunity to be a good vintage store in austin, but i have a few complaints about where they are now. it seems there is never any attention payed to the appearance of the store. i know it's on the drag, and it's supposed to be ""funky"", but it just looks rather trashy. the inside of the store is jam packed with an array of over priced lame vintage finds. i would rather go to feathers and pay more for a gorgeous real vintage piece that seems special in a store that excludes bad clothing than dig around at cream for that one good piece at the same price. if i wanted to do that, dig, i would go to saver's. also, it seems like they have new items once a month rather than once a week... this is very sad. vintage shoppers expect new and exciting things often at a vintage store. \r
i wonder about their claims of music events... it seems that only happens during SXSW, and everyone in austin has a band at their store during that. \r
the one good thing, the alterations. the seamstresses are sweet and detail oriented. \r
overall i suggest not wasting your time at cream, there is better, and classier vintage to be had in austin. \r
