Coasters, formerly The Thirsty Eye, is a SE Portland neighborhood bar with a down-home feel to it. The interior is clean but ""lived in,"" the food is decent and tasty but not fancy, and the patrons are mostly neighborhood folk in for a drink after work. Bob, the owner, is the nicest guy around and he spends a fair amount of time on site. The staff turnover is low, which is a good sign, and the service is generally very good, as is the cooking (especially breakfast). Prices and portions are good.
The clientele is on the older side (40s-60s), with a loyal customer base of regulars who have been patrons for many years. Mostly friendly people.
Great jukebox, several video games and a pinball machine, and a half dozen or so of poker machines.
Pros: The patio out back is fantastic! Free pool on Sundays
Cons: If you're not into sports not the place to be on game day
