Chestnut Street Cleaners is, without a doubt, the least competent cleaner I have ever conducted business with. For weeks, I used Chestnut for dry cleaning and wash and fold. The service for the former was good enough to maintain a relationship; but the wash and fold -- which is done on the premises -- was a horror. At first, it was just a few articles of clothing that went missing. Or I would find clothing that didn't belong to me. Irritating, but a price I was willing to pay (on top of the financial cost). \r

Then a bomb drops. I dropped off a large duffel bag, bulging with articles of clothing. When I return to retrieve the wash, the bag had about one-third of clothing I had dropped off. The cashier tried to convince me that the sagging duffel bag had all the clothing I had dropped off. As he was the person I gave the bag to, I reminded him of how packed and heavy the bag was. He then suggested I look in other bags (the blue paper ones used to wrap washed articles). I found several items that belonged to me in several bags owned by others who had dropped off their wash. After discovering this, I gave up in disgust. I was quite disturbed by the carefree, slovenly work habits of the employees and the refusal of the prevaricating cashier to accept responsibility for the loss of hundreds of dollars worth of my stuff, which clearly ended up in the homes of complete strangers. \r
Two thumbs down for these bottom-dwellers!
Pros: While inserting the knife in your back, the employees smile.
Cons: Incompetent Service
