Very relaxed and homey 10/18/2008

I love going to CVP. I found it a few months ago and I go there to watch the game every sunday I can. Maybe it's because I'm a young female, but all the regulars were very friendly to me from the start, and the drinks and brunch are very well priced for going out to watch a game. I've yet to be harassed here, or given a bad attitude. I just wish it had a pool table. Pros: Relaxed, cheap Cons: Small more

Go to The Den instead 9/5/2007

If you like being surrounded by a bunch of drunk losers, this is your place. If you like food that comes out of a dirty, mouse-ridden kitchen, this is your place. If you like scoping out ugly babes that one wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole, this is your place. Lastly, come support an owner that could care less about his employees. Unfortunately, their best waitress was tragically murdered a few months back. To one's dismay, the owner was nowhere to be seen at the funeral. What a guy! Pros: serves alcohol Cons: serves alcohol more

Underwhelming, but not terrible 1/28/2007

CVP is, first and foremost, a bar - and not a particularly classy one. Accordingly, their menu consists of not-particularly-classy bar food, served in a manner that seems to say ""oh well, you're here getting drunk anyway; we may as well give you some food while we're at it"". Since I live just a few doors down, it's a convenient place to grab a sandwich or a baked potato and salad while I'm running errands, and though I've never left the place with stars dancing on my tongue, the food is usually serviceable. Make sure the wait staff knows you're there, though; they don't go out of their way to look for work to do, and tend to lounge around at the bar doing crosswords and chatting with the bartenders unless you get their attention. Pros: Reasonable prices; kitchen is open late Cons: Service can be less than enthusiastic; limited options for vegetarians; food is strictly utilitarian more
