My current car died on the lot of Carmax, I felt I had no choice but to purchase from here. Upon walking in with trade in mind and cash in hand, I extended my hand out for a formal introduction with the salesman, only to be passed up so the salesman, PHIL (who has been there since 1993) could shake my boyfriend's hand who stood behind me. Carmax is a good place to look for used cars if one does not have good knowledge of these machines. This paticular place is a very big with many used cars where you can easily find one according to your pocket. Staff is friendly as they get commission on sales but if you can find some reference or some older staff you can negotiate better. I brought my Carmax car to a mechanic immediately after purchase to get it checked out - they said the motor mounts were bad as were the front struts and needed to be replaced, along with a few other things. When I told the charmax folks this, they said there was no problem - I told them I'd give the car back, then, at which point they offered to change the front struts. Almost exactly one month passed, and with normal driving the motor mounts broke down. Carmax replaced them under my warranty. Carmax is better than any other used car dealer but be savvy and dont take their word for it. PROS: No hassling, no haggling CONS: You must still be a conscious consumer more

This place is amazing. the cars are all sorted by what they are, then what color. the prices are reasonable and they will buy your car, even if you dont buy theirs. more
