A Nice Neighborhood Italian Restaurant 3/21/2006

When I used to live in Fenway, it was a refreshing treat to walk over to Canestaro to get italian food. Beware of all the Fenway tourists though and opt to visit on a weekday. Their bread is great as well as their pizza and pasta. The pizza crust has a gourmet olive-oil taste to it, making it an interesting selection. The employees and service is normal and the atmosphere has a nice, warm glow to it. more

Not as Fancy as other Top Notch Italian Restaruants 3/10/2006

This restaruant is like a up scale pizza place. Its is more fancy than the pizza type diners but is not as fancy as some of the Italian restaruants in the Boston North End. The people here a nice and in my experiences here the food is made quickly and is quite good. more

Romantic and Friendly 2/13/2006

This is one step above the everyday pizza place. Quite a few pasta dishes (including linguine primavera, basil gnocchi, and tortellini with chicken) are offered in addition to the pizza. The service is exceptional and friendly. There are great values for wines, appetizers, entrees and desserts. more

Great Italian in the Fenway Area 2/3/2006

The North End isn't the only place in Boston for great Italian cuisine and pizza. Canastero is located in the Fenway district of the city and is of a great place to go for a meal especially if don’t want to hike across town. The pizza here is outstanding and is available for both take out and eating in the restaurant. The atmosphere is extremely inviting with warm lighting and comfortable dining spaces in the restaurant. The bar is also a great place for a casual meeting or after work gathering offering many wines by the glass from their list. The service here is very experienced and super friendly. They are always nothing but friendly and inviting. more
