Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum 4/14/2006

This has to be one of my favorite museums around Austin to visit. I wish my children were older so that they could appreciate this museum more. My favorite part of the museum is the IMAX theater which I always enjoy . They change their shows frequently which is nice. As a teacher I went on many fieldtrips to this museum and the children thoroughly enjoyed all the information provided. The leader of our tour was awesome! She was so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The museum is located close to the University of Texas campus which is nice to tour as well. more

Excellent for Visitors 3/24/2006

I loved the first time I went to this museum. It's big, it's over the top and it's got some great unknown trivia facts about Texas. They also always have a changing exhibit. Make sure to check out their IMAX too. I've gone to see a couple of movies there and it's excellent. Their cafeteria is not too bad or overpriced either. This museum is excellent for out of town visitors, specially if they're out of state. It exemplifies everything that Texas is about. It's a bit on the pricey side if you've got a mid to large-size group but you'll have such a good time there that it's totally worth it. Tip for the tight-budget: Austin has a yearly Museum Day (usually in September) and most museums in Austin are free that day. Take advantage of this great event by going to museums that have an entrance fee. more

Great Learning Experience for all ages! 10/14/2005

We (as a family) enjoy going to Museums around Texas and the Bob Bullock Texas History Museum is one we can visit over and over again. My kids are all into history and they always learn something new when we go. The building is huge with 3 floors of exhibits, that change fairly often. There's also an IMAX theater, Cafe and Museum gift shop! If you live in Texas, learning about Texas is the greatest gift you'll ever get. more
