l felt very happy when i ordered delivery from bangkok 16 . their food was\r so fast. it only took them 30 minutes to get to my house. i ordered pan fried noodles with chicken, chicken coconut soup, and imperial rolls. it tasted like i was having an authentic thai meal in thailand, but i was in my living room!!!!! and too top it off the meal was so cheap, i had good food with out having to break the bank!! and thats always a huge plus for me!!\r \r i loved everything about this place and i havent even yet set foot into the restaurant. All i can say is that i am only ordering thai food from this place from now on.. Pros: Delivery ,good price ,good food more

A couple of okay dishes, but overall, poor food 11/25/2007

Went here based on the reviews I read, and the fact they have miang kum. Fortunately, that was good! And, the thai crepe was interesting. Everything else was not so great. The thai iced tea was too sweet and watered down. the pad thai was nothing special. the tom kha gai was ok - the soup itself had a nice flavor, but the chicken was overcooked. Not enough flavor in the basil chicken - plus my brother thinks the bell peppers in the dish were starting to turn... Too many pumpkins in the pumpkin chicken curry, and the flavor wasn't that great anyway. \r \r The only saving grace was we were the only people in the place on a Saturday night, and they had funny karaoke videos on! That, and the service was very good. Also, it did help that Bi Rite creamery was a few blocks away - always a good way to end the night and make any meal better!\r \r If you want thai in the mission - go to Suriya thai - they have a lot of dishes you can't find in different places, and some really nice food. Pros: service Cons: food more

Wonderful and Delicious 10/26/2007

Best tom yom goong. I am so happy to have dinner at this place. The menus is hugh and have a lots of selection. Nice and fresh ingredient. You don't have to go to Thailand . They make spicy as you wish ( don't forget to ask) . The place is nice and clean and they have big screen TV on the wall . See you again soon Pros: parking delivery Cons: friendly service nice deco more

Delicious gai tom ka 8/20/2007

The first time I went here was several years ago and I have been going back ever since. The prices are very reasonable and the service is extremely friendly and very attentive. I am Thai and the food here has never disappointed me. Dishes such as the Gai Tom Ka are full of flavor and you can ask them to make it a little more sour, sweet, or etc. depending on your tastes. I also really enjoy the fried rice dishes and Meang Kom which is always fun to eat and surprising not very easy to find at other Thai restaurants in the city. The menu is long but if you need help, the owner is always ready to lend a hand. Pros: tasty dishes, great service Cons: closed mon and tues more

Found this on citysearch. It is nice and clean. The food is so good and the service is friendly. I love the fish-cake and meang-kom. The coconut chicken soup is delicious, Papaya salad ( i asked for thai spicy) so tasty and yellow curry chicken is great. I definitely be back again and again and will bring all of my friends. Pros: great food, great price, friendly service Cons: delivery ,parking not bad more

Its ok... 3/10/2007

The place was ok. The food wasn't really all that great, the Chicken with Basil was the worst I've ever had, all you can taste was the basil and oil, the flavor of the chicken was well... oily and taste like basil, I couldn't even taste the chicken. The beef and meat ball noodle soup was like out of the package. It seemed like they didn't even take time to make it, the broth was bland, seemed like it sat there all week long. I had to add a lot salt, soy sauce, and even fish sauce to even get some flavor in there. The barbeque was good, mixed vegtables with tofu was good, but the tofu pieces are so small, barely had any tofu in it. HOWEVER, the service was GREAT! But, I don't think I will ever return. Pros: Great service! Cons: Bad food... small seating, no elbow room. more

Great customer service 1/21/2007

Had a wonderful dinner last night. Food was not greasy at all as some of the Thai dishes offered in the area were. Servers are very polite. This place comes highly recommended. more

best thai food in sf, this place is unbelievable 1/3/2007

wow!! this place is absolutely amazing i have been going to thailand for as long as i can remember and nothing in the city compares to authentic thai as does bangkok16. honestly those who complain dont know real thai food. this place wonderful i have been 8 times already and i will continue to remain a faithful customer for years and years to come... if you need help ordering just ask the owner terry if he is there he will definitely steer you in the right direction (the man knows his food) -for starters i usually get the shrimp wrapped in rice paper, the chicken satay or if your feeling really adventurous i would recommend meang-kom and kari- pop. i also love the gai-tom-ka soup or the tom-yum-goong soup (be careful its a little spicy) and for entrees i love the green chicken curry or the red pumpkin curry with brown rice. the chicken pad thai is great and the pad-siew with brocolli and tofu is even better. and lastly for desert thai pancakes (roti) it is mouth watering, i guarentee you will wake up in the morning dreaming of this...i know i do. it is hard to go wrong at bangkok 16 so give it a try im sure you will all fall in love just as i have... Pros: service, quality of food, atmosphere, delivery Cons: parking, crave it way to often!! more

In terms of authenticity, the food is bland 12/30/2006

I spent three weeks in Thailand and fell in love with authentic Thai food! Since traveling there, Thai food has become my favorite of all cusines. While the food from Bangkok 16 tastes ""thai"", it lacks the intensity of flavor I fell in love with. The tom yam gai was very bland - neither hot nor sour, and the chicken pieces were unedible (the leftover pieces from other chicken dishes, I presume - cartilage and such). Even in Thailand, they use thinly sliced white breast meat for this soup. This dish should be bursting with flavor, but sadly it tasted watery. I also ordered fresh imperial rolls, which are supposed to be wrapped in rice paper - instead thery were wrapped in a doughy flat bread (like you get at an etheopian place). The pad thai was dry and the noodles tasted pastey. The food rates slightly above average on my scale - I've had much worse Thai food in the city. They have fast, free delivery and overall it tasted fresh - just not very flavorful. There are definitely better Thai places (Marnee Thai, Ploy 2, Kon Toke, Thep Phanom) --- and worse for that matter. more

Unquestionably the best Thai food in SF 12/21/2006

I've been coming to this place for 3 years now. I've never been dissapointed. Everyone of their beef and pork dishes is delicious. Every once and a while I spoil myself and order the Ta-Lay Thai plate. It is a seafood dish but the the spicy chili curry sauce sets it a part. The owner is very friendly and always goes out of his way to make sure that your experience at Bangkok 16 is a great one. Great place to take a date, or have a great meal before a night out in the mission. Its impossible to only eat here once. It's that good. Please increase your delivery zone and I'll be calling you 3-4 times a week!!! more

Best Coconut Chicken soup- and free delivery! 11/12/2006

I loved the coconut chicken soup here- it was fresh, and delicious!\r We also ordered the pad thai which was a little dry but still tasty.\r On a second try at this restaurant I tried the sweet and sour chicken soup and the chicken was werid rubbery chunks, not so good, but the broth and vegetables made up for it. I also ordered a salad which came with cucumbers, spinach, tofu and POTATO Chips!\r weird combo, but drizzled with peanut dressing everything tastes good! Pros: free delivery Cons: not consistent more
