definitely an awesome burger, but not cheap! This is where Carl's Junior got their six dollar burger slogan from. Expect to pay about $15 for a cheeseburger, fries and a drink. more

Must agree with the reader that called this place a rip-off! The cost here is astronomical given the flimsy offerings received: an average burger, less than average service, in a well below average ""room"". Much better places to eat better food, served by nicer people, for less money. Go elsewhere! Cons: Bad Food, Bad Service, Bad Bad more

The burger is good, not great, not exceptional, just good. However, at $5.45 for the ""steakburger"" it's also a rip-off, not just overpriced, not just a tad expensive, but a real rip-off. All and all, In-N-Out is 10 times better than the ""Pan."" Oh yeah, the servers are not nice people. Something you might want unless you go to Ed Debevics. more

I love this place. been going there for over 30 years. burgers are great. (hickoryburger is the one to get) Fries are good too (ask for 'em crispy). The Pies are to die for. The burgers are easily beaten by places like Carl's Jr. Fries are excellent. The deserts are why you would come back. The atmosphere is cosy barstools with plenty of people lining up for your seat while you eat. Pros: dessert, friendly Cons: overcrowded, ho-hum food more

Worth the wait at lunch. 9/15/2002

I dont even need to write this review, they have their own loyal customers that will go there till the end of time - evidenced by the usual wait to get a table at the counter. The burgers are absolutly delicious. The fries are good. Its quick. Best of all, its WORTH EVERY PENNY. Its not a fast food joint, so dont expect fast food prices. more

I have been going to the Apple Pan for 30 years and have never tasted a better hamburger in my life. In fact, after my first trip to Europe, where I was gone for 6 weeks, the only stop I wanted to make on my way home from LAX was to the Apple Pan. After all the wonderful food I had in Europe, I still missed my hickory burger. No question about it, people aren't standing in line at all hours for just another hamburger. more

No idea why people like this place. Food is average, tastes like a burger from any diner and worst of all it's expensive. In and Out burger is much better and without the wait. Save your money and order a #1 Animal Style more

If you are in the mood for a great hamburger with no pretensions and no delusions of grandeur, then the Appe Pan is the place to go. If you wonder if the food is truly that good, just ask any of the people you see standing around(waiting sometimes 20 minutes for a seat), it is simply worth the wait! Pros: Best Burgers, Fabulous Fries, Low Prices Cons: Little Parking nearby, Can be Crowded more

Messy-Good-Fun 8/11/2002

I think I was four and it was my first dining out experience of going out for dinner with my mom and dad. At first I didn't understand eating with other people, especially right next to you but it was fun. I just remember pressing my little face up against the window to get a really good look at the pies that were so warm and bubbling. I couldn't wait! I am so grateful said I could not have dessert until I had some real food because I have an addiction to the steakburger. At 35 I still go out of my way or at least find a victim to pick me up that dreamy, juicy, sweet and salty Steakburger. Gotta go ..........A steakburger is awaiting. Pros: consistent, inviting, good service Cons: Crowded, no crowd control, no-parking more
