Very Bad experience - poor customer service 8/21/2010

We got our pool built in 2010 with Swim Mor. Construction phase went ok but we had several issues then after with a new pool and it is nightmare dealing with them. Their customer service is really poor and don't care about the customers. \r \r We never expected to have so many issues with a new pool - to name few: leakage in pool, cracked tiles, missing grout line on entire one side, cracked grout, missing valve which caused flooding in backyard, spill over waterfall from raised spa not falling as a sheet, stone veneer coming off loose etc. \r \r Whenever we called to complain either it went to voicemail or left a message that was never passed and no follow-up or return call was received. You're never given time estimate or date other than taking the message, so you need to keep calling unless one day they might show up !\r \r Swim-Mor doesn't really care post sale or believe in customer service and are extremely rude. I wouldn't recommend them - in my opinion, SAVE YOUR MONEY. more

Amazing Pool, Fast Construction 8/19/2010

Swim-Mor just finished my Pool and Spa and it is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. When my wife and I designed it with the pool Designer, Bob Lang, I never thought it would turn out this nice. Between the stone work on the wall, the Caribbean Blue Quartz Plaster, and the water spouts shooting up from the decking, it is awesome. When I bought the pool in June, between permits and construction, I never thought I would be swimming this summer but he said we build them in less then 35 days, joyfully my kids jumped in for the first time last week. I was referred by a friend who built a few years ago and said this was the only company to with, and he was right. It could not have been better. more

Horrible experience 8/16/2010

The BAD reviews are true! This is an absolute awful company. DO NOT BUY A POOL FROM THEM! They were nice as can be up until the point that they got the check. Then they treated you like trash! Not returning calls, never following through (which they did up until the point that they were paid) Even the owner is a jerk. They actually installed the pool in the wrong place (3 feet into the yard too far). They told me it was my responsibility to make sure that the pool was in the proper place. I though that is what I was paying them for. They told me it was going to be 15 feet from the property line, not 18 (I trusted them...big mistake). Now since it's only 3 feet, no big deal, the point is their response. They never gave instructions as to what to do with the pool during the off season. They just charged to close the pool and left. Never told about making sure the proper chemical levels were correct during the winter. After the second year, I had to have my pool ac more

Excellent All Around 7/21/2010

Swim-Mor built my pool 3 years ago and all through construction, the last three years, and even the service call I had last week things have always gone smooth. I find the negative service reviews here hard to believe. The service department has always been courteous and responsive whenever I have needed help understanding and servicing my pool. I was referred to Swim-Mor by two of my neighbors who are very happy as well. Working in customer service myself in which online reviews are common I know that there is always two sides to these stories and the only one you get to hear is the customer who didn't get there way, whether it is a valid complaint or not. I always tell my customers to check out a qualified site such as the Better Business Bureau. more

Accurate Reviews 7/16/2010

The reviews could not be more accurate. The workers who do the install are great. The sales people are great. The owner and the managment are horrific. As longa as you pay and there are no issues things are great, the moment there is a problem, or a repair request you are treated like trash. more

Swim- Mor Pools Negative Experience 6/8/2010

We had our pool built in 2002. Our experience with Swim-Mor has been very negative. Our pool is only 8 years old; the plaster is cracked, most of the tile and concrete backing has fallen off and the coping is lifting off the pool. This has been going on for 5 years. Warranty or not, excuse or not, this pool is a disgrace. Feel free to see a sample of their work on You Tube. I would not recommend this company, they are not service oriented and they certainly don't stand by their work. \r Based on my experience and the money that I invested in this pool, this company is a disgrace. I had to supply a star for me to post this rating, so I will go with one star. I feel strongly enough with this post to stand by my convictions. Also, no response in all the years that we contacted Swim-Mor, so let's see if they respond to this. Perhaps, they should have enough integrity to see our pool in person instead of hiding behind their written warranty that's not worth the paper it's written more

Swim-Mor Pools, Mt. Ephraim, New Jersey 6/7/2010

I purchased a Swim- Mor pool 8 years ago. Through the years, we have had one problem after another. Can never get them to come out, have even been yelled at by the customer service people. We have lost tile through the years and now most of the tile has fallen into our pool. The coping can be lifted off and there are cracks in the plaster. Not once has the owner of Swim-Mor had enough regard for us to see the pool in person. \r The man at the counter is very rude and unprofessional. (Yelling is not a way to do business with customers) I can say that this company does not stand behind their pool. During warranty they will make every excuse not to come out. They have been awful to deal with and I would never recommend Swim-Mor. This is an honest review of what I have experienced. I have posted a video of my pool on You Tube that represents what this pool has meant for us through the years. We are into a pool that cost nearly $30,000 , and 8 years later we have estimates towards $15,000 to fix the pool. Nothing they say is an excuse for such workmanship. In fact, they like to do a lot of yelling and fighting when you try to get them to even take a look at the pool. Again, at the very least I would think the owner would want to see first hand what our pool looks like. We have maintained our pool properly and have used all the proper chemicals as I have seen in many other posts that Swim-Mor likes to blame the pool owner. I would never recommend this company and no matter where you go to purchase a pool, be sure to do a lot of homework. When recently looking over Swiim-Mor brochures I found it insulting how they write in the literature about having a beautiful, long lasting pool, that gives you years of pleasure.. Maybe I should invite them to a pool party at my house and we can play a game diving for tiles. We have hundreds of pieces of tile that we have collected. Also, the terracota coping that is around the pool can be lifted right up by a 5 year old. Is this what a $30,000 dollar pool should look like after 8 years? Yes, it may sound like a bit of anger here, but how in good faith can this company stay in business. I'm looking forward to hearing more of their excuses in response, again never seeing the pool. Remember a picture is worth a thousand words, so feel free to check out the photos of my pool on You Tube. I hope that not one more consumer goes through the nightmare that we have had with Swim-Mor Pools and Spas, located in Mt. Ephraim, New Jersey. I would be glad to e-mail anyone pictures as well. I have documented an excess of 100 photos. I stand by my convictions and can tell you without hesitation to stay away from this company. Pros: Not one. Cons: Poor, rude customer service. Our pool a disgrace. more

Pool Owner 5/20/2010

I also have experienced two years worth of poor customer service. We had the pool put in orginally in 1983 and totally resurfaced, retitle and recoped the entire pool, which cost as much as it was to put it in the 80's. I have waited 2 years to get the many times promised minor touch ups after paying cash for the project two years ago. I have made numerous calls to Northfield and cannot get some to come out and do these minors things. more

Not A Quality Pool & AWFUL customer service! 5/14/2010

i couldn't agree more with the poor customer service comments! we have had nothing but problems with the "customer service". the problems that need to be fixed with the pool are simple and easy to resolve yet getting them to respond is so difficult and when they do they are so incredibly rude as if they are doing us a favor. i find it amazing that they have a business where they can cash a check for $60,000 and then turn around and be so awful leaving the customer with little recourse...UPDATE 1yr later....our pool is now going into it's 6th summer and our Hot Tub is has a leak and the tile and coping are both falling off AND we have to buy an entire new heating system. we were told by the two AWFUL men (the owners son and son in law) that NOTHING is still under warranty....so sad not even 6yrs old! one would think that they would be embarrassed by this and want to correct it. guess i should have listened to the warnings......everyone told us "swim mor....swim less" is what they more

Great Experience, First Class 3/17/2010

My experience with Swim-Mor Pools could not have gone better or been any easier. Each crew that came out was first class, they respected my property (no coffee cups or trash left in the yard) and more importantly did beautiful work. And something that I wasn't used to with other contractors I have worked with, they actually showed up when they said they were going to, I imagine that is because they do not use subcontractors and do there own work, which I did not think was that important until I actually saw the control they have over their crews and schedule and the quality of work that they are able to do by not relying on subs. My pool is now two years old and I could not be happier with the customer service I have received and that is why I still use them for my spring opening (just called today). Having used another pool company at my previous home I can honestly say that I would refer Swim-Mor to anyone looking to build a new pool. more

Suspicious Complaint 12/11/2009

We at Swim-Mor Pools have been the leading pool builder in South Jersey for 42 Years and have always tried to improve our product, delivery, and service. It is suspicious that Tom M. has waited 9 years to voice these complaints since his pool was finished in July 2000. I would hope that after 9 years we would be considered successful if the only complaint with the product is a small stain on the floor of the pool. We have contacted Tom M. and will post the results of our examination in the spring after the pool is opened-up. more

Swim-Mor Pools is the worse. BEWARE 11/21/2009

When I ordered my Swim-mor pool I ordered their most expensive pool they made and with every option. The sales people were all over me. The first day they showed up started the job from hell. I heard a loud crash outside and the dump truck that showed up to dig the hole had backed into my beautiful tree and tore down this long sweeping limb the was the highlight of my yard. When I went outside he just looked at me and said "Oh well, read your contract, we don't cover damage to landscaping". that was the beginning of the worse attitude by any company ever. Then the owner showed up to do the layout. He disagreed with the way I wanted it and suggested another direction. When I hesitated he said "let me lay it out for you and if you don't like it we will change it." He reminded me, in a very condescending tone that once one shovel of dirt was removed I could not change it. The workers laid out the pool and I didn't like it. The owner start SCREAMING at me about how much work they just more

Swim-Mor Pools makes a great pool! 8/13/2009

I bought a Swim-Mor Pool 4 years ago and the pool turned out great. I received quotes from several PBs and Swim-Mor's bid was very competitive and the salesman was very upfront. He explained the allowances for electric and gas so there were no hidden costs throughout construction. The few times I needed service they promptly came out and resolved the issue. They stand by their warranty and beyond. I recommend Swim-Mor to anyone buying an in-ground pool in New Jersey. more

Swim-Mor Pools is the WORST! 8/5/2009

They are the worst company I have ever done business with, and I regret referring anyone to them! We built a Swim-Mor pool five years ago, and every time I have tried to contact them for service, they have given me the run around. Today, after calling 6 times, the service manager, Christopher, who is also the owners son, started screaming at me, cancelled my request for service, and hung up on me! Last year, 2 of our neighbors built Swim-mor pools based on our referral. They are unprofessional and completely hands-off once the new pool construction contract is signed. BUY SOMEWHERE ELSE! more

Swim-Mor Pools is terrible in customer service 7/1/2009

We shopped around and received the best price from Swim-Mor. One of our friends just had a pool built by them and told us they were very good at building pools but very poor at customer service. We thought what did customer service really matter since a good pool is what we wanted, so we went with them. If I had to do it all over again I would not choose them even though the pool is perfect. Dealing with their 2 (yeah only 2) customer service reps was a nightmare. They never answer their phone, never call you back and speak down to their customers. When I tried to talk to their boss, the girl gave me the guy that was just as much of a problem as she was. When I asked for his manager she gave me the owner of the company. When I received his voice mail it was her voice on it, so I am pretty sure he never got the message. If you enjoy calling somewhere every day, every hour then this is the company for you. By the way, a year after my friend was swimming in her pool she found out that her more

By the way, a year after my friend was swimming in her pool she found out that her pool never passed the final electrical inspection and called to complain. The customer service rep shrugged it off like it was no big deal not understanding how fatal electricity and water could be while my friend had her children and their friends in her pool. What a nightmare. If you do go with them do not follow their payment plan and make sure you have your CO before your final payments, because once we paid in full it got much worse. They really make it easy! 1/1/2009

After getting several bids for swimming pools, not only was Swim-Mor very competitively priced, but we liked the people we dealt with. Of course, it was Nov. and our house wasn't even finished, but we wanted a pool by next season. After assuring us that it would be no problem, they lived up to their promises. Our pool was finished before our deck was done, and it is beautiful! Since then, they have always been helpful with any questions that we have. more

Great Experience 6/24/2006

My Swim Mor experience was the complete opposite. It was fantastic, I spoke with a number of people who had installed pools and came up with a list of companies whom I should NOT use, the only company I kept hearing good things about was Swim Mor. The salesman was not pushy and very honest with the prices. I had to spend more $ because of the distance of the electric and gas lines to my equipment from my house so things like that I knew about up front. The salesman also guided me through my saga I experienced with the town, I had to get a variance to install my pool. Once the construction started it took 6 1/2 weeks from start to finish and the only reason it took that long was because we had to wait on various town inspections (ie: electric inspector, building inspector etc have to inspect things at various points and some of them only do inspections 2x a week). The payment process was specified on the schedule Swim Mor provided me with were I pay a certain % at various points of construction. Even then the guys didn't take the check until the end of the day. I never had a problem with the office staff, Lauren answered the phone 90% of the time (rarely got a voicemail) and always returned my calls. Lauren was my ""go between"" person at Swim Mor and she was great, she not only answered my questions, got me answers on things she couldn't, she was a nice kid to deal with. Most of the staff/workers from Swim Mor have many years of experience, 75% of the installation of the pool is done by Swim Mor direct and NOT subcontractors. THey only subcontract things that need licensing such as the electric, gas line and cement. Even these 3 things, the 3 companies they use do most of their business for swim mor and the communication line btw them is great. OVERALL a great experienc and I highly recommed them to anyone who asks me about who I used. Pros: Reliable, experienced, nice more

Love you and leave you! 4/14/2006

I built a pool with Swim Mor and it was one of the worst customer experiences of my life. They made a mess of my driveway and back yard and refused to do anything about it. Pressure in spa is bad, lighting system is dim, and other items were not performed to our satisfaction. They make you pay up front and then leave you hanging. Employees lied to us repeatedly by telling us that they would follow up but never showing up and later telling us that everything was taken care of. All of our concerns are documented. Despite several phone calls and letters to the owner, we received no help. The owner NEVER spoke to us despite several attempts to contact him. I would not recommend that you use this company. Cons: Customer service, Employee integrity, Owner doesn't care more

Expertly Built In-Ground Pools Since 1967

Owner Message
  • Swim-Mor is South and Central New Jersey's premier swimming pool builder since 1967. We offer a variety of pools and spas in countless shapes and sizes to suit your property and your budget. In our 40 years in business, we've built quality pools and spas for the discerning residents of South and Central New Jersey. And at Swim-Mor "we" means "we" handling the job ourselves not only allows us to maintain the high quality standards that our name has come to stand for with pool construction but gets your pool built faster, with technicians that care.

For most folks a pool is a major investment. And as with most major investments, there are concerns about staying power and longevity. At Swim-Mor, we are aware of these concerns. Through our construction process, we address them. We were the first pool builder in the area to use the long-lasting, low maintenance Gunite method of concrete construction. Gunite is pneumatically applied concrete that allows for greater flexibility in the design of pools and spas. It's also twice as strong as conventional, hand-packed concrete-lots more goes into a pool than water.

And we don't mean your friends and family. You see, constructing a high quality pool, one that's durable, easy to care for and fits your needs, is Swim-Mor's biggest goal. That's why we offer the highest quality coping and tile in a wide variety of colors and styles.. * Renovations
