VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE ENVIROMENT!!!! 1/24/2007

I went here to get my lip peirced and personally I think it is the cleanist and most comfortable piercing shop that I have been too. The people there were REALLY nice and AWESOME!!!!! I would reccomend you going here if you want a piercing, Another cool thing is that they give you the stuff to heal up your piercings instead of making you but your own stuff to heal it. REALLY COME HERE IF YOU WANT A PIERCING DONE.\r Brittany Hinnen more

the best piercing experiences anyone could ask for 1/20/2007

I got my upper labret pierced and a about 4 months later i got my septum pierced, both done by separate piercers. Joel is really awesome, he was really friendly and had a lot in common. He made me feel comfortable for my first piercing experience (when i got my labret done). They helped me choose out something, and they were really knowledgable and really knew what they were talking about. \r I love how my piercing turned out, i've had no problems with it\r Getting my septum done was a little painful!! It was so worth it though, I think his name was Nick? it only hurt for a few days and after that i cant even feel it. Its easy to hide when needed and it looks nice on me. \r I highly recommend these guys, they have a lot of books you can look through first too if you prefer to see the piercers work first. They are really professional, i also ordered some plugs through them and they got it two days later.\r These guys are my favorites and im lucky that i came across them because i like their style and they REALLY know what they are doing. Pros: really friendly service, great fun people, good vibes Cons: not very much parking since its located on a busy street more

Best piercing shop in pdx 1/6/2007

I have plenty of piercings but I have always been nervous about the tongue. I walked down to sttp since it was close to me and realized I have stumbled upon the best piercing shop I have ever been to. They are clean, friendly, helpful, and just all around the best piercing shop I have been to. I highly recommend sstp their staff is great! Pros: Ambience, Service more

Best piercing, customer service, etc. 12/24/2006

So I had been thinking of getting my belly button pierced and finally decided to go do it. I looked up places to go on citysearch and I liked what folks had to say about sttp. I went in after work on Friday and was greeted right away by a friendly gal with purple hair (I'm sorry I can't remember your name!). She talked to me about the different types of jewelry and prices, etc. and answered my questions about the procedure. I decided I was ready to do it so she introduced me to Alec, who was really friendly and calm and patient. He explained the procedure again and talked to me as if he'd known me for years. It was done before I knew it, I was expecting much worse to be honest. He explained the aftercare and told me to come in anytime if I had more questions or needed someone to take a look at my piercing to make sure it was healing as it should. The shop was clean and I had no reservations about getting an infection. I was really pleased when I left and will definitely go back when I'm ready for more! Pros: The people, cleanliness, ambience more

AMAZING PLACE!!! 12/22/2006

What can I say? I was set on getting pierced at 13. After having several horrible experiences at the mall, I researched piercing studios and found Straight to the Point. Alec was fantastic. My mom was super nervous, and he totally calmed all of her fears and listed only the facts. They go above and beyond to make sure all piercings are done with professionalism, cleanliness and integrity. All of their jewelry is high-quality, internally threaded. They seriously take care of you. Emily is also awesome. She reopened my septum for free, and made sure that I could flip it up. Nick especially knows his stuff and does a lot of cool custom stuff. His creativity precedes him! Incidentally, all of the piercers there are highly trained. I would never get pierced any where else! Pros: Perfectly clean (you could eat off of the floor), quality jewelry, special orders, friendly staff, informed, great hours, creative, by the book procedures. Cons: There are no cons. They rock! more

Amazing Experience Overall 11/29/2006

STTP was recommended to me by some friends, so I went there for my first piercing. They treated me very well, discussing my options, telling me exacty what was going to be done and how, the materials used, through aftercare instructions. Alec and Nick were extremely knowledgeable and considerate to my needs. I'll def. go back to them!\r Pros: knowledable staff, clean, central location off MAX line more

Awesome first piercing experience. 11/20/2006

So I'm just adding another drop in the bucket of rave reviews. These guys rock! The place is immaculate, the jewelry is pretty, and the staff are friendly, knowledgable, skilled, and very professional. I believe my piercer's name was Tricia (I might be wrong!); but she did a fantastic job, and I felt completely relaxed while she was doing it. They gave good, detailed instructions about how to care for my new piercings, and the H2Ocean spray they gave me is fantastic. A+, 10 out of 10. Pros: Ambiance, cleanliness, friendly, professional staff, all-natural care products! Cons: nada. more

Immaculately clean. Nick Rocks. 11/17/2006

It's best to schedule an appointment I found, but had no problem with getting in soon. I had my nipple repierced last night by Nick at the Troutdale location. The guy rocked. He was very professional and could tell I was a little nervous... but after talking to him for 5 min I was ready to go. I was VERY impressed with how clean the studio was and all the infomation I was given. I wont be pierced by any other studio in the future, I'll be going back to STTP.\r \r Sara\r Gresham, OR more

STTP is the best piercing shop in Portland. 10/25/2006

Everyone was helpful and Nick who did my piercing answered all my questions, calmed my fears and helped me to relax and get my navel pierced. The shop is immaculately clean. This is something you want to see when you are going to get poked. I would recommend this shop to anyone, whether it is their first time or 10th time. Excellent service, and they have tons of patience and I am very happy with my experience there. Pros: Clean and immaculate atmosphere. Cons: None that I can see. more

Impailment never so pretty. 10/17/2006

I went with some friends to go get piercings the other day. we were helped by Joel who was very sincere, experienced, gentle and damn s exy. i went back the next day, and they allowed me to watch a new type of piercing being done so that I could consider it for myself. overall, I was very smitten with the piercers and the shop. Pros: Joel and Marty Cons: the chinese food next door aint great. more

Better than ice cream!!! 9/1/2006

Apparently my annual ritual is visiting STTP for brand new holes. Last night marked that lovely occasion and Nick and I were finally able to finish my rib cage surface piercing. A mere 23.5 hours later, there is virtually no discomfort (unless I run into something, and let's face it, that's unavoidable), the swelling is way down, and they look beautiful! As usual, Nick was the portrait of professionalism, kindness, and talent. I'll also mention that I took it as a major personal favor that he didn't make fun of me for making a noise described by my friend alternately as a porpoise mating call and a puppy being sat on. Nick is so sweet that he only said I made ""interesting"" noises. In addition to all of his other wonderful traits (the least of which are not his love of shoes and contagious smile), he was tremendously quick and barely hurt me at all! I was even able to go play at the Italian festival right after he was finished. In short, I can't even express the amount that I adore STTP, and I highly recommend the shop, and the staff, to anyone. I know I'll be going back as soon as I can think of a good location, or maybe I'll just come back in a year and let Nick have his way with me ;) ! Pros: Amazing people, Fantastic piercings, Unparalleled cleanliness! Cons: Not a thing! more

Fantastic, clean, comforting, professional 8/13/2006

Enough of my friends have gotten piercings over the years that I've visited quite a few piercing places, but I still go to Straight to the Point for all my piercings. They're amazingly clean and professional, completely know what they're doing, and have always calmed my nerves amazingly well (which is impressive). I recommend them above all other Portland piercing parlors. more

Best piercing 8/12/2006

I came across STTP while visiting Portland for work. Having dealt with many nasty infections in the past from piercings done at other places, my experience with STTP was nothing but wonderful. The staff was welcoming and extremely knowledgeable; the shop was spotless and not at all intimidating. Joel was patient and very thorough in the aftercare instructions. This is by far the best piercing experience I've had and if I wasn't living on the other side of the country in New York I would go back there for any and all future work. Pros: knowledgeable and welcoming staff, very clean, thorough care instructions Cons: why can't they also be in New York? more

Straight to the point. 7/30/2006

I have a passion for piercings. I don't mess around with studios that waste my time. This studio respects and appreciates my body and my wants. I've had seventeen piercings done by STTP. This studio is immaculate. I respect and admire the professionalism of the individuals who make this business the only place I go. \r My wife, for an anniversary present, ordered from Alec a 1/4k diamond set in a white gold ball. He helped her in creating a completely unique design to fit into two seperate piercings on my body- a Madison and an Industrial. Alec tediously worked with the special order jewerly company to make this piece absoultely perfect. He has meticulous attention to detail and made sure all the elements were dialed in- the position of the diamond, the setting itself, the level of comfort when worn, the appearance, the purity of the diamond, the angle...every minute detail was taken into account by Alec. Impressive. more

All I have is love for this studio. 7/29/2006

THE BEST. If you live in Oregon or Washington, make the trip to this studio. Phenomenal. Impressive. Knowledgable. PROFESSIONAL. Spotless. Beautiful jewerly. Amazing artwork and studio. Staff is personable, witty, and tremendously talented. I will absoultely never, ever go anywhere else for a piercing or jewerly. They have filled my special order needs for jewerly for two years now. I have gone into the studio with an idea and Alec makes it happen. (thank you!) My wife has gotten about a dozen piercings here, and all have been gorgeous. I bring all my friends and family here when they are in town. These guys are the S**T!! Pros: where do I start? Cons: N/A more

Totally professional. 7/28/2006

Even if you just want to have your daughter's ears pierced, go here and only here. They are so helpful and assure comfort, style and success. There is a difference is quality for even simple piercings. Now that I've experienced this approach, I'll never let anyone I know go any where else. more

Wonderful support, both before and after 7/14/2006

Wonderful people, willing to answer any questions before your piercing, provide brilliant after care, and never made me feel any pressure. (Yes, I yelped, but Emily was fine with it..) I've dealt with everyone who works in there now, and they are all friendly, professional and informative. And yes, the cleanest salon I have ever been in! Pros: Cleanest site I've ever seen! Cons: Just use public transport - you'll be happier more

Nick is Awesome. 7/9/2006

Whenever I consider getting pierced (or un-pierced), I *always* go to Straight to the Point. No question. They are so clean you could eat off the floor, the people are always friendly and engaging, they carry the most *kick ass*/rare/beautiful jewelry, and piercing is their art, not a source of income secondary to tattoos or selling hookahs. And whenever I go to STTP, I make sure to get Nick. Nick is, in addition to being a top of the line piercing artist, so cool. I've been getting pierced by Nick for over 3 years now, and every experience has been wonderful. The first piercing he did for me was this totally unique ear project: a 3-hole orbital with an industrial dissecting it, pierced through a fourth hole. I loved it loved it loved it. It was something that has never been done before (to anyone's knowledge) and Nick said that he wouldn't recreate again, as it was ""my piercing"". This blew me out of the water. His integrity as an artist in this instance sealed my loyalty to him as a customer. \r Yesterday, I went in to get my lobes pierced. I'm 21, and had never had them done. I have to admit, I called around a little to other shops asking about pricing, etc, but was met with pretentious scoffs. Piercing lobes isn't the most interesting thing that a piercer could be doing, but it is still body adornment, and I'd rather not go to the disgustingly unsanitary conditions of Claire's to get pierced. But, at STTP, even though their artists are capable of doing all sorts of crazy sh*t, Nick was totally sweet and more than happy just to pierce my lobes. \r All in all, this place is top of the line. They have a great new store that has the most gorgeous and exotic jewelry I've even seen, and it's definitely worth a trip out there. And lastly: Nick is the best. Pros: Environment, artistry, friendliness, cleanliness, beautiful selection, the list goes on... Cons: parking dowtown can be tough, so ride your bike! more

Best place to get poked :) 7/9/2006

I would highly recommend this piercing studio. I have had two piercings done there soo far and would love to get more. This is the only place I will go to. The staff is knowledgable, helpful, and patient. The studio is artistic and sophisticated but still very down to earth. Very clean! They also have a wide variety of jewelry to choose from. They won't leave you hangin' after your piercing is finished. The staff encourages you to call or stop by if you have any questions or concerns about your piercing. Happy piercing! more

Rockin' Place 7/2/2006

I just want to say that I love this place! The people are great and the atmosphere is cool. I've gone here to get pierced and it's always been awesome. I love it how everyone is so helpful and the place is really clean. (Note to the piercers: you guys rock!!) Pros: clean, everyone was helpful and nice, aftercare was provided and piercers were very knowledgable more
