At the Troutdale location, Jenni changed out my tragus jewelry. (My tragus was not pierced at Sttp but rather a different piercing parlor two months prior and it had been giving me all sort of problems.)\r \r She was super friendly and helpful! Answered a ton of questions I had. During the jewelry change out she was very gentle and took the time effort to make it as comfortable an experience as it could be.\r \r My tragus is doing much better now. It's feeling great! I just moved to Portland and asked around for piercing places and everyone told me that Straight to the point was the best!!!!! Me and my friend walked in with out an appt and we were both pierced and out of there within 20 min. Emily was the one who gave us our naval piercings, she was great she talked us through it with ease. I plan on going back there for all my piercings because they have great piercings for great prices and awesome jewelry :) more

My husband and I decided to get our genitals pierced (we are 46 and 38 not 18) and were a little nervous about going into a place we didn't know. neither of us had anything pierced and weren't familiar with the terminology at all. we went to the downtown store and not only was it very clean with beautiful artwork but Emily , who pierced us, was very professional!!! she explained everything and didn't make us feel stupid or like we were too old to be in there. she gave us plenty of opportunities to ask questions and mad us feel very comfortable with the whole situation. I love my piercing and can't wait to get the next one!!!! more

My sister and I just went to the tanasbourne location and got our noses pierced by Jenni. She was awesome! It's so clean in there, she was able to help us right away and was very efficient! She even offered to stay a little later for us if need be. She did a great job and it didn't hurt a bit! I would definitely go back to STTP more

STTP is the only piercing parlor I have been to that I actually felt calm and comfortable before getting pierced. Usually I feel faint when walking into a piercing shop. The employees there were incredibly friendly and helped me feel at ease. I got pierced where you would think in any situation its going to end up uncomfortable, but I actually felt quite relaxed during the entire process. I definitely recommend STTP to anyone who is going to get pierced anywhere on their body! I promise you will not regret the decision to go here! STTP is the best place to go in portland to get a peircing. They don't act better then you and take the time to make you feel comfortable with what you are about to do. you have any questions they want you to ask. For some time now, my wife had been toying around with the idea of getting her navel pierced(along with a little nudging from me). And then it happened , for a gift to me for our anniversary she decided to have it done !With both of us coming from conservative backgrounds, yet really enjoying tattoos and piercings, she left me with the task of finding a quality establishment that would put our minds at ease. Well... considering the time spent researching both on the internet and on the phone , asking questions and receiving a multitude a varied answers , let me help the rest of you out with four (4) simple letters.... S T T P ! From the very first phone conversation with Jenny at the downtown PDX location , to arriving at our appointment and meeting her in person along with Nick who was to do my wifes piercing these folks are nothing short of amazing !!! During our initial conversation over the phone Jenny was both Pleasant and informative...not abrupt and so-much-better-than-you like I had experienced on so many previous calls. In fact, at one point I had decided not to make any appointment until my wife and I had time to discuss which shop we would be willing to settle for . No settling here ! After speaking with Jenny for a few minutes and answering all of our questions not to mention bring up some of her own that we had not even thought of , I book an appointment on the spot. We arrived a few minutes early and were greeted by Jenny in person (very sweet gal) and were given customary forms/releases to sign and shown a very nice selection of rings to choose from,after picking one out, Jenny informed us that she would take care of the sterlization of the piece while Nick was finishing up with a consultation. In just a few minutes Nick came over and greeted us and again ask if we had any questions or concerns. It was now time for the big moment ! After taking us into to a very upscale yet sanitary room where the procedure is done, Nick went over the basics of the piercing itself all the while putting our minds at ease and being very carefull to maintain a high level cleanliness. After a couple of measurements and some careful preparation and a deep breath. it was in ! My wife could not even believe he had started and Nick was already going over aftercare procedure and cleaning , etc.."" Virtually painless"" per my wife and believe me , if there had been any pain involved, EVERYONE would know about it ! lol ! Needless to say this was a VERY pleasant experience for both of us and what I hope to be the start of many more to come....there have been discussions in our past of other piercings, but only if and when this one went well......She brought up getting another one before we had even gotten back to the car !! After having called several piercing shops I was instantly impressed with how friendly and knowledgeable the staff (namely Emily) was at Straight To the Point. Having been pierced several times I was expecting the normal stand-offish-we-can't-be-too-bothered-to-answer-questions-and-actually-provide-true-customer-service-because-we-are-cooler-than-you-attitude that seems to resinate in most tattoo and/or piercing parlors. \r \r However this was not the case at all. After calling just to check prices I was surprised at not only how nice Emily was, but also how extremely helpful she was too. Asking what kind jewelry I would be wanting, and if I would need to conceal it work or school, and then providing the different options. She went above and beyond what I was expecting just during our telephone call.\r \r I'm happy to say my expectations were definitely met once inside the shop as well. The shop itself had a great vibe, extremely clean and really stylish! My piercing experience itself (septum) was quick and relatively painless. I have gone into sttp a couple times and everytime im there they are so kind. i have told all my friends who have even mentioned getting anything done to go here. they are so good at what they do and everything is so clean. it was a painless experiance for me and i will no doubt get all my piercings done here. I had such a great experience at Straight To The Point!! I just went in to get my ears re-piecred because I had troubles in the past. They answered all my questions, did an amazing job doing the piercing, and the studio was incredibly clean. They only use the needles once and take them out of the packaging right in front of you. I was recommended to Straight To The Point from a close friend of mine to get my daughters ears pierced. Of course, I thought to myself, ""Typical body piercing shop probably wouldn't cater to me."" Wrong! Besides having a gorgeous studio (almost overwhelming), the the staff was super nice to me, and they were great with my 11 year old! She was a bit nervous which is normal, but Emily was very patient with her and walked her through the whole process. It was so easy for her to get pierced I'm afraid she'll want so much more done now lol! I've been to STTP numerous times, and I must say that the service I received has been great! I've dealt with a few different piercers, and they've all been wonderful. I walked in the store and ordered one bead for my earring (that they actually made and fitted perfectly to me) This order took place a month and a week ago and still no sign of the product in the mail, and continuing reassurance over the phone. I've ordered things online from England and it got here quicker. My excitement over my earring tip has all but faded away. Never again. I never want to see a needle near my body unless it's in the hands of a STTP employee! I've certainly been in to other piercing shops in the area, but never one with the same comfortable atmosphere and pressure-free environment. Whether you are searching for new jewelry for your existing piercing (they have an awesome selection, and help you figure out what will work best for you) or getting pierced for the first through 1000th time, this is absolutely the place to go. I've been into the shop countless times, it's always extremely clean and propitious, the piercing is done in a separate room which is separated by glass windows, a curtain is available for the more modest of the crowd or the more risque of the piercings. Piercings take time to heal, there have been times with a few of my piercings that I was a bit befuddled on how to best take care of them, one amazing virtue that all the piercers at STTP possess is patience. Every question is answered to the best of their ability, if you would like them to do something as simple as show you the proper way to clean your piercing or need them to change out your jewelry, they are always there to help. I would not hesitate going in with a question or request on a piercing I got two years or two days ago. Most of my piercings have been done by Nick, he keeps a smile on my face and has a great sense of humor as well as professionalism. I've never felt uncomfortable in his presence, even in the more awkward of situations. It's nice to know you are not alone when something goes awry, and that you are dealing with someone who has over a decade of experience under his belt and a prodigious amount of knowledge about his profession. This place is amazing. From the minute I walked in I knew that this was the only place I could trust with my piercings. It is extremely clean and smells like a doctors office. I originally chose STTP for my first piercings because of the amazing interior design. Let me tell you, the place is just as breathtakingly beautiful in person as the photographs are. The atmosphere has that sense of alternative bohemianism that all piercing studios should have, but with it is also a touch of class and elegance that puts it several cuts above the rest. I was a bit timid going in, but the woman behind the counter(unfortunately, I can't remember her name...I think it was Jen or Jenni...) was very helpful and answered any questions that I had. Emily(I'm pretty sure her name was...I'm so bad with names) did my piercing, and she did an amazing job putting me at ease. She was professional and friendly, and I immediately knew that I was in good hands. I would definitely recommend her to other first-timers. The place completely exceeded my expectations. I just went back to STTP yesterday or my 3rd and 4th piercings. I went in knowing I wanted to get my hips pierced, but not knowing any of my options or how they even did it. Within minutes, I had all of my questions answered. I found myself at Straight to the Point almost a year ago, getting ready to get my lip pierced. After that I couldn't help but get more. Since, I've gotten my tragus, daith and just recently my forward helix. I would not go anywhere else. They are incredibly friendly, fun, helpful and it's just a great place to go. I think Emily is the best, she is the only one I would ever let come near me with a needle. Any problem you have with aftercare they are willing to help with, and they will change out your jewelry for you whenever you want and also for free. Inquiring and poking around several times before getting peirced, I was attended at STTP immediately and warmly by staff upon walking in the door every time. My piercing experience with George at the downtown Portland location was very comfortable and I have not had any problems with my piercings so far. The support and aftercare offered for piercings and jewelry was a key factor in my decision to go with STTP. I was also impressed with the sincerity and consistency of all staff, and blown away by the incredible array of jewelry. I have never seen such a variety of quality craftsmanship, from the simplest silver and gold pieces to the extremely high-end, intricate wood and bone carved adornments that looked like they belonged in a museum. I went yesterday to the Straight to the Point in tanasbourne. My piercer was George, and he made me feel so relaxed and comfortable. He shook hands with me and my mom when he was introducing himself.
