Luckily I found Straight to the Point for my first piercing ever, so I've only ever had great experiances. Their store is SO clean, just like it should be. All the staff are awesome, no question is a dumb question, and your well being is top on their list. After getting to see what a REAL piercing shop should be like, I cringe when I hear of anyone going to some hole in the wall. Out of all the places I have gone to get pierced, these guys were the best! They were the most professional piercers I have ever encountered and they make you feel right at home. They have a very clean facility which makes you feel comfortable getting a piercing there. Great selection of jewelry as well. Definately worth every penny!!! I went in to get my nose pierced and the guy who did it, George, was so nice and I felt so comfortable with him! The room he did it in was extremely clean, and he did a marvelous job! If I ever decide to get any other piercings, I will only go here! more

This place is excellent! Completely sterile, professional. It's classy without being snobby at all. This is the only place I will go for piercings. If you are looking for something different, ask about a vertical lobe. It's one of their specialties and you won't find many of them out there. I had mine done at the grand opening of the Hillsboro Store and I love it! I would Also recommend this place for first-timers. Minimal pain but the rush is indescribable. more

As a person who loves piercings, I'm picky about where I go. This place is the only place I recommend!!! The place is very clean, the people are very knowledgable, and the service is top! Emily has done most of my piercings and always keeps me laughing until I leave the shop. Though I've met a lot of great people who work here. I brought a friend from California to get a piercing done in the shop and I highly recommend this place to all my friends. I went here for my first non-ear piercing on a recommendation from my roommate. The whole store is immaculate and sterile without the snobby atmosphere you might expect. I highly recommend this parlor for piercings. The staff take their work EXTREMELY seriously and every part of the piercing process is handled with professionality and a high degree of integrity. My friend (who got his first piercing, an ear piercing, during the visit) wanted to just hop on the chair as soon as I had my lip piercing in, but the piercer insisted on sterilizing everything in the room, including the tops of the jars, before he would start on my friend, explaining courteously about the importance of a sterile field. \r \r They are also great with follow-up. A month and a half after I got the piercing, the ball fell off the ring because I'd been playing with it and I just walked in after work (they are open late, yay!) and they fixed me up free of charge. Highly recommended. I will never go anywhere else. more

GO HERE FOR YOUR PIERCING. If you think that you can't get something special and original, you haven't been to Straight to the Point. These people are known as the best in the world. My friend and I went there and we got four piercings between us. The piercer was quick, friendly and the piercings were virtually painless. I would never consider getting pierced by anyone else. Of course, you might find cheaper prices at places that do not specialize piercing - but you get what you pay for. Sure, I'll buy a package of cheap plastic hangers, but when somebody is driving a big needle through my flesh? I'm going for the best regardless of price. Once I went to one of those places that also had piercings in the back of the store, and the difference is really obvious. The quality of the jewelery, placement of the piercing, and overall experience was much lower in that place (won't say where). I wanted to get consulting on what I should do about that piercing. A friend guided me to Straight to the Point and they were able to help me out, despite the fact that they didn't perform the piercing. It was quite refreshing.\r \r One thing I really appreciate their business is their honesty with the customer. They will tell you the risks of a certain piercing very thoroughly, and not just try to sell you on something. And in the end, it is ultimately your choice, but it is a well-informed one.\r \r I've had a few piercings from them and I've always felt at ease. They are incredibly sterile with their procedures, and the shop is immaculate as well. And they obviously know a great deal about what they do. I always ask a lot of questions, and they are always very willing to answer in great detail - such as, which layers of skin the piercing goes through and descriptions about each layer. I'm a huge nerd and I was impressed by their knowledge. They are like piercing prodigies or something.\r \r They are also great with follow-up visits. They invite you to come by the shop if you have any more questions, and it's not as if you're being a nuisance to them because they genuinely care that your piercing heals and remains healthy. Also, with the piercing comes the aftercare spray, H2Ocean, which in my experience is much easier to use and has better results than traditional sea salt soaks. Pros: Very professional. High quality. Upon deciding I wanted my Tragus pierced, I started researching shops. I got nothing but awesome feed back on Straight to the point. A friend of mine and I visited the 3rd Ave shop, and what a wonderfuly unexpected experiance. Not only was the shop EXCEPTIONALLY clean, the young woman that welcomes us was highly informative and very welcoming. I find this to be pretty important because I have had experiences where because I am a pretty average girl walking into piercing shops or tattoo shops they seem to think I am not a worthy customer. After getting all our info and picking out jewlery for us we were asked to wait just a few moments for the person who would be doing our piercing. Once we met George I felt completely at ease. He was very friendly and professionaly. He got us settled into the rock, where we both got to watch the other get pierced. George was very friendly and professional. Not only that you can tell that the team at Straight to the Point cut no corners. They take every percaution to be sterial. Which when getting a hole poked in your body is something you would hope for. George was great with me, I tend to get worked up with stuff like this, he simply taked to me the whole time. He laughed when I asked him not to make me cry. Plus, I got a compliment on my Tragus, apparently I have perfect ears for this piercing. First time i got a compliment on my ears!\r The best part was, my piercing didnt hurt the day I got it done, I actually slept on it that night and it hasn't give me one problem since I got it. \r \r Thanks George, you rock! I drove by the Tanasbourne shop decided to check it out for my 32nd birthday present. Upon walking in, my first impression was artistic. Other piercing places I had visited don't even come to the same level and class that this shop gave me the feeling of. \r I fell in love with the jewelry I first eyed. But I walked away in order to do some comparison shopping only to return within a couple days for my latest addition. No other shop had the same jewelry piece or anything close to it near as beautiful.\r I had no issues with healing and I suspect it had something to do with this new spray product that they gave me two bottles of! NO SOAKING IN AWKWARD POSITIONS!\r He said the jewelry I picked suited me. I thought to myself, ""This guy doesn't even know me. He's just saying that."" I got my ears pierced by a different place. I had trouble with them two months after, they still weren't healing. I contacted straight to the point & asked advice. They gave me some advice over the phone & said to come in so they could check it. I went there and they took really good care of me. The place I went to get the ear piercings used inferior earrings so my ears weren't healing properly. The staff at Straight to the Point examined, cleaned, & put new surgical steel earrings into my ears for me. The only thing they charged me for were the cost of the new earrings they put in for me. They were extremely nice, helpful & professional. My ears were feeling better within the hour, & the next day they were looking better than they had in the previous 2 months. \r Straight to the Point has a very relaxing atmosphere, the people are professional & nice. I turned 50 this past May and wanted to do something a little wild, being a redhead and Irish...Need I say more? Ok I will you talked me into it ;=) I have been wanting my nose pierced and I thought what a better time than now! So I had a close friend look into some places that were up scale I have heard some horror stories. So They directed me to STTP I was very impressed and have not been dissipointed. The staff and the clean shop is very good. I was a bit on edge when I walked into the shop I had Trish she was awesome she put my mind at ease... I was taken back to a room that was spotless and clean,and before I knew it I was finished and it never even hurt. I'm a big baby when it comes to pain and needles.. I went back when they said and my nose is healing well it has been 4 months and I recently bought my birthdstone great work and good gold...So if your wanting to have something pierced then STTP is the place to go I'm going to tell anyone I know who may want this done. STTP is the best and only place I will ever go to get another piercing! 4 months ago Nick pierced a tongue scoop for me, he was super nice and relaxed. He put all my nerves to ease and I love my scoop so much, I took my previous tongue ring out so i can have another scoop pierced here soon. I love gettin my taigon replaced, everyone is awesome and friendly. They all have exceptional service and I even took a whole stack of business cards to hand out. There is no other piercing shop like STTP, they have the best jewelery and their prices are reasonable and you get the best serivce. It's hard to get good service as a stuffed dog, but as soon as I walked into Straight To The Point in Portland, they welcomed me with open arms. Nick was very professional, and made me feel at ease. We both had anchors done and they were great with her, not to mention they agreed with me on why she should not get piercings on her face... I hate needles but love jewelry. I have been debating about getting some custom work done. I live in Chicago and have been to all the piercing shops here. They are all the biker type hole in the wall places. Nobody in Chicago has a clue to do what I want. While waiting in one of these shops to talk to someone I picked up a magazine and read an article about Straight To The Point in Portland. I was particularly impressed with Nick's creativity and knowledge. It just happens that I'm going to be in Portland soon on business so I looked up STTP on the net and saw all the rave reviews. I immediately called Nick. He was very informative and even told me how he could expand on the piercing I want which is even better than what I originally thought of. He put my mind at ease about the needles and told me what to expect. Now instead of being nervous I am so excited! I can't wait to get in Portland and meet Nick and the rest of the staff. I might even come in a day early for this. I am sure I won't be disappointed in my high standard of perfection. more

Being Indian, having my nose pierced the first time (in 2001, in Minneapolis) was a cultural decision and I was so glad I had it done. A couple months ago, I took it out for a couple days and the hole closed. I was devastated! I thought to myself 1)Now where was I going to have it done? 2)Who was going to do it as perfectly as it was done the first time? 3)It?s gonna hurt? again!! 4)There won't be any jewellry I like!\r \r If you can relate to any of my upset, look no further! Alec and his team at Straight to the Point took care of all of my concerns! Their downtown location is quite nice, but they have a brand new beautiful studio in Tanasbourne!! So clean and classy! Alec did a fantastic job, so personable and explaining it all the way through ? he was even ok with me having my sister on my headset to ?hold my hand.? It hardly hurt, there was an awesome selection of jewellry, and the aftercare has been a piece of cake!\r \r I left delighted, and returned a couple weeks later with a friend in tow who wanted her nose pierced. To be honest, I have never been at a better peircing place and have never had a better experience than the experience I had at Straight to the Point. Alek was so nice, and with having it be my 3rd time getting my nose pierced I was a little nervous about the pain factor (I'm a little bit of a baby..) But Alek was fast, it honestly didn't hurt and he was so clean and efficient when it came to telling me all about how to clean it the right way and when to come back in and have them adjust it, etc. After going to the new location, I wont go anywhere else now! My boyfriend and I are completely sold on getting more stuff done there! I went in to Straight to the Point last night very close to closing time. I'm not usually the type of individual you'd expect to have crazy piercings and I'm always intimidating when entering these types of establishments... always convinced somehow I'll be judged. Not only was the service amazing, even with it so close to the end of the day, but George (my piercer) was incredibly professional and comforting. He made sure that I was aware he'd never performed the piercing I'd requested before, and then called another piercer to go over the procedure and make sure everything was set to go. He walked me through everything while he was doing it, let my friend and the apprentice in the room to make sure I was more comfortable. It was so quick and so painless and the total price included my jewelry and the aftercare. I would recommend Straight to the Point to anyone, for outstanding, professional and incredibly clean service. Pros: Professional & clean just like you'd hope from a piercing parlor more
