Should you or your children require piercing in Portland I'd take them to Straight to the Point. Excellent customer service. My then 14 year old has had 2 or 3 ear piercings f/b a nose piercing. My then 10 year old had an ear pierced. On every visit the staff confidently provided a safe, calm experience. No godforsaken, dehumanizing mall I'm grateful to say. They've a spacious, welcome environment. Thorough, clearly detailed follow-up site care was given to the kids, (as well as parent). Respectfully given to the kids. The customer care here is AMAZING! Nick is my favorite. He takes his time to make me comfortable and answer my questions. He makes sure that the piercings I receive have a placement that is flattering as well as appropriate for my active lifestyle. My first piercing at STTP was nearly two years ago. I will *NEVER* get pierced by any other shop. All of the piercers ensure that you're educated about the piercing and aftercare. They make sure that you'll be 110% satisfied with your choice by listening to you and putting you at ease when you walk in the door. I was so nervous the first time I visited. The shop was busy, but Alec didn't rush a thing when he was listening to my concerns and answering my questions. He told me exactly what to expect, and it took the fear out of this new experience for me. Yes the piercing hurt... but I thought it would be so much worse from what others had told me! He was so fast, and the piercing and jewelry were both a perfect fit for my body. Aftercare. As if the initial experience wasn't incredible enough, the aftercare surpassed everything I imagined. This means that two years after my initial piercing, I still go in the shop and have jewelry changed, hear suggestions and have all of my questions answered. I've been here three times, for lobe, cartilage and nose piercing, i've had two different piercers, each time I left completely satisfied. The staff are super nice and talk you through every step, they clearly know what they're doing and are very hygienic. My piercing were quick and for the most part painless. For 4 years now I have LOVED going to the Troutdale Straight to the Point. It has always been super clean, professional and relaxing. \r \r I've had my nose pierced, my tregus pierced and two ""collarbone"" anchor piercings and I have received nothing but the best care and information for all of these piercings.\r \r George has pierced everything but my nose and he has a way of making everyone (even the viewers/support) feel comfortable but especially the one undergoing the needle! He is not pushy but encouraging and makes it easy to have a new ""addiction"" to piercings. He is friendly and funny and definitely has a clientele that is increasing daily because of his great attitude and professionalism.\r \r I would never tell anyone to go anywhere else but Straight to the Point because I know that I, personally, can guarantee to my friends and others that they will be SO happy with their piercings from Straight to the Point. I've done my research on this shop using city search and asking other people around town (surprising a lot of people haven't even heard of this place) but i thought id give it a shot. I also did some research into tygon which is what is primarily used in this shop (from what the piercer said) and was amazed that they charge so much for a little piece of tubing that you can get for $5.00 for 10 feet. But that really wasn't the only thing that turned me off, when i was asking questions all i got was attitude and i was made to feel like i was wasting their time needles to say I've been in a few other shops in Portland and i guess its a city wide attitude problem. I got 2 piercings at STTP last summer while in Portland. I didn't realize how great it was until I was going to a Sounders game here in Seattle on Saturday, and decided to stop in a local shop in Pioneer Square to possible buy some new jewelry and maybe get my ear cartilage pierced.... I almost ran screaming..I'll just say that the STTP experience was totally different! My experience was awesome! I had been thinking of getting my lip pierced... When I went in the employees were all very nice and talked to me about the piercing... I went back and the piercer made me feel very relaxed, talked me through the 2 minute process, and gave me tips on proper cleaning etc. I strongly recommend this place for any piercings! Today I visited Straight To The Point at Tanasbourne and got my cartilage pierced by George. I wasn't sure what type of jewlery I wanted at first, but his knowledge of the healing process using tygon quickly helped me decide. I also have a fear of needles, and when I felt uneasy he offered me plenty of water and even bought me taco bell to make sure I felt better. The piercing was quick and painless, and I felt confident about it once it was all over. My friend and I went in last minute on a Saturday evening and they were willing to get us both pierced before calling it a night. They were all friendly, professional, and thorough and by the time we walked out of there, not only did we feel confident about the work that was done, but we also felt great about our expenditure. They guarantee their jewelry for LIFE- which is amazing and you'd be hard pressed to find that elsewhere. Also, they offer free adjustments and they will install new jewelry for free. I got my nipples pierced last night. I first when to a couple of other piercing joints, looked around, asked questions, but didn't feel comfortable until I got to Straight to the Point. Even though it was about 20 minutes until closing time, the staff greeted me with respect and was eager to help me. I was pretty nervous about it all and Nick was extremely patient and did a fantastic job of relaxing me. He is very experienced and confident. He verbally walked me through the entire experience. Ultimately I wasn't sure I was going to get them done last night, but after talking to Nick for about 10 minutes, I was sold. The shop was clean and beautiful also. The staff seems to be committed to providing on-going service after the piercing as well. I would highly recommend this place for a piercing. I had the most amazing experience. My husband and I made several visits to the Tanasbourne shop. The first two were for information. The shop is beautiful, inviting, and professional. Everyone that works there is a knowledge expert in the piercing field. I was immediately impressed and made an appointment. I went in for my piercing and again the customer service was impressive. George, who did my piercing, answered our questions, explained the process, and was patient with my husband who wanted to make sure they would be even. I was totally expecting a painful experience.
