I went with my friend to get my navel pierced. I was so nervous because the last thing I'd had pierced was my ear lobes, and that was at least 10 years ago. Everyone in the shop was really friendly though, which was awesome and very reassuring. I was a bit blown away by the price since I'd been checking out different shops' sites to get an idea of the price range and STTP doubled some prices I'd seen, but I know with piercings and tattoos you don't want to go cheap or you'll pay for it one way or another so that wasn't a real big problem.
The piercing process itself was very quick and not as painful as I'd expected. They were really good about cleaning everything up and spraying down all the counters and cabinets before and after each piercee, which was nice to see and made me feel even better. Everything about it was great, although I was surprised my friend and I weren't given anything to use in the aftercare. We got a pamphlet detailing some of the basics for taking care of our new piercings, and I'm glad I have a physical page I can refer to; I know I'd be worried I'd forget something otherwise. When looking into other shops they all seemed to give at least a little sample of H2Ocean or other piercing/tattoo products, but we didn't get anything here which seemed strange, especially considering how much we payed. Looking through older comments on here it sounds like products used to be given out... If nothing else it would have been nice to have some available for purchase so you don't have to worry about running to a store right away and finding something that'll work and not harm your new art. Thankfully my friend still had some from a recent piercing that she let me take, and so far so good! It's not nearly as tender as I expected. I feel silly having been so nervous before! I'm glad I got it and I'm glad we chose to go to STTP :) If I'm ever back in the area and in the mood for something new, I know where I'll be going for sure.
*The only other mild complaint I'd have is scrolling through the portfolio. Everything looked amazing in it, and it was, as usual, really neat and inspiring to see the work that's been done in the shop, but there wasn't a page letting you know that the next turn would have you face to face with people's genitalia... That was shocking for my friend and I. We still appreciate the work of the artists, and the tolerance of the people who can go through those procedures, but it would have been nice to know there were actually those pictures in there so we could have stopped before arriving at those pages... :/
Pros: Clean; friendly staff; quick piercing
Cons: Pricey; Not much aftercare
