I went in a day ago and got some microdermals done by gorge, GREAT service. He was quick, and made it as painless as possible by talking me through the process. Everything was clean and sterilized. It's a very professional, yet friendly environment. Best piercing experience I've had yet. more

Very Happy Customer! 10/30/2009

I had my belly button pierced by George at the Tanasbourne location. He let me pre-buy the jewelry two weeks before the piercing because I wanted to make sure they had exactly what I wanted when I came in on my birthday. When I got the piercing, I received 5-star treatment. Everything was very clean or new and I was very comforatable and confident I had made the right choice with Straight to the Point. Thank you George and Straight to the Point. I will recommend you to anyone and I will return :o) Pros: Clean! Professional! more

Wonderful 10/11/2009

I went with my friend to get my navel pierced. I was so nervous because the last thing I'd had pierced was my ear lobes, and that was at least 10 years ago. Everyone in the shop was really friendly though, which was awesome and very reassuring. I was a bit blown away by the price since I'd been checking out different shops' sites to get an idea of the price range and STTP doubled some prices I'd seen, but I know with piercings and tattoos you don't want to go cheap or you'll pay for it one way or another so that wasn't a real big problem. The piercing process itself was very quick and not as painful as I'd expected. They were really good about cleaning everything up and spraying down all the counters and cabinets before and after each piercee, which was nice to see and made me feel even better. Everything about it was great, although I was surprised my friend and I weren't given anything to use in the aftercare. We got a pamphlet detailing some of the basics for taking care of our new piercings, and I'm glad I have a physical page I can refer to; I know I'd be worried I'd forget something otherwise. When looking into other shops they all seemed to give at least a little sample of H2Ocean or other piercing/tattoo products, but we didn't get anything here which seemed strange, especially considering how much we payed. Looking through older comments on here it sounds like products used to be given out... If nothing else it would have been nice to have some available for purchase so you don't have to worry about running to a store right away and finding something that'll work and not harm your new art. Thankfully my friend still had some from a recent piercing that she let me take, and so far so good! It's not nearly as tender as I expected. I feel silly having been so nervous before! I'm glad I got it and I'm glad we chose to go to STTP :) If I'm ever back in the area and in the mood for something new, I know where I'll be going for sure. *The only other mild complaint I'd have is scrolling through the portfolio. Everything looked amazing in it, and it was, as usual, really neat and inspiring to see the work that's been done in the shop, but there wasn't a page letting you know that the next turn would have you face to face with people's genitalia... That was shocking for my friend and I. We still appreciate the work of the artists, and the tolerance of the people who can go through those procedures, but it would have been nice to know there were actually those pictures in there so we could have stopped before arriving at those pages... :/ Pros: Clean; friendly staff; quick piercing Cons: Pricey; Not much aftercare more

Awesome Shop 10/3/2009

I want to say thank you to STTP. I had a wonderful experience here. I got my first major piercing ever and was really really nervous. Emily made the experience very quick and as relaxing as you can get getting a VCH. Thanks for such a great experience. I will only go to STTP. They are Awesome. Thanks again Emily!!!! Pros: Clean, Friendly, Helpful, Comfortable more

now i know 9/21/2009

i am new to town and just happen to be walking by STTP. i decided to peek in and get my nose pierced. now that i have experienced the STTP difference, i understand what everyone on city seach is bragging about. if i had done my research (rather than the impulsive drop in), i would have landed at the same studio! george is absolutely fabulous. there is no pretentiousness about him or the studio. i did not feel out of place or awkward (with no visible tattoos or piercings). i was treated courteously and respectfully by the entire staff. george was very informative on the process, the care, and the STTP studio support after initial piercing. i was in and out in about 20 minutes. in a nutshell, this is a cool, edgy studio, but don't let the decor distract you from the reason you are there. these people are well-trained professionals who will take excellent care of you before, during, and after your piercing. Pros: clean, professional, friendly, and knowledgable more

Short and Sweet! 9/20/2009

I got a VCH piercing yesterday at Straight To The Point. Nick was my piercer and was super mellow and non-intimidating. I felt very comfortable upon meeting him and he definitely helped calm my nerves. The preparation did not take long at all - I was in and out in about 15 minutes. Nick explained the procedure and an idea of what the pain would feel like. Last night the piercing location was quite swollen, but not painful at all. Now, less than 24 hours later, the swelling is down quite a bit and there is minor bruising. The pain is pretty minor, and would probably not be noticeable if it were not in my ""private parts"". If I ever have the urge to have a needle shoved through my flesh, I will definitely have Nick do it! Overall a good experience! Thank you! Pros: clean, well-trained staff, good location Cons: cost more

great place for great service and piercings 9/19/2009

I love sttp, because they answer my questions. They are professional and clean. And i've had to come back on several occasions and they've helped me figure out what was wrong with my piercing or they've made great suggestions. Pretty much they rock. Pros: legit Cons: medium priced in comparison to some other joints. more

Best piercing experance 9/17/2009

George was very friendly and professional, he made me very comfortable he went above and beyond any of my expectations. He explained everything I needed to know in great detail, and kept a smile on my face through out the whole expierence. All around great place. Pros: clean, professional, friendly Cons: none at all more

Best piercing place I have ever been too 9/13/2009

I went into Straight to the Point in August. I had gotten a piercing from another shop a few months prior and was having issues with it.\r George helped me out, let me know what was wrong with the piercing, why it was irritating me, what I could do to change it and what he could do to help change it. \r I ended up buying new jewelry and having him replace it right then and there as well as taking ALL of his recommendations for the piercing. \r The store is VERY clean, tastefully decorated, and they are open seven days a week. \r I will be going back to get the four additional piercings that I want to add. Pros: Great customer service & knowledgeable staff more

im wondering.. 9/3/2009

how much would it be to get a tongue pierced? more

Not so great. 8/28/2009

I had to go back a couple times for them to readjust the piercing. Way overpriced, too. I'm kicking myself for not going to Nomad piercing studio. Cons: They didn't explain things very well. more

Great experience again, won't go anywhere else 8/27/2009

Today was my second visit to STTP. The first time I went was in August 2009 to get my rook pierced. I came in today to get a horizontal lobe piercing, and my experience at STTP has been exceptional both times. I thought it might be busy since it's a Friday, but I walked in to an empty shop and Emily was the only one in the store. She asked what I wanted and explained the piercing to me, helped me pick out my jewelry, kept a friendly conversation going and had me fill out paperwork (minimal). Since I was the only one there I got to go into the chair immediately and she put her gloves on and got everything ready. First she exchanged the Tygon in my rook piercing (free) since I hadn't taken care of that yet. She asked if I had any questions and explained that it shouldn't hurt very much, especially compared to the other piercings I've gotten. She had me take a deep breath in, then did the piercing, then a big breath out. Putting the jewelery in was the only thing that hurt--the needle itself was nothing. She asked how I felt and then took me back out to the counter to go over the cleaning process. I liked that she didn't point out every single bullet point to me because she knew that I'd gotten a piercing before; she definitely didn't treat me like I was stupid. I paid her $61+tip...I didn't bother to shop around for cheaper prices and I'm assuming I could have gotten it cheaper elsewhere, but I don't mind paying a bit more for the great customer service I receive there. I've been to another piercing studio in Beaverton that definitely didn't have good service. I was in and out in about 15 minutes with a big smile on my face. I love my piercing and I love the experience at STTP. As I told Emily, I want a lot more piercings and if I ever get any more I will go back to STTP, without a doubt. Keep up the great work, and I'll see you soon to exchange the Tygon! Pros: Friendly, knowledgeable, nice atmosphere Cons: Price probably more

Absolutely Amazing!!! :) 8/26/2009

Today I went to Straight To The Point to get my belly button pierced.. I was soo nervous, but as soon as I was greeted by George I instantly felt better about getting the piercing. He is truly great, along with everyone else there. I am pretty young so of course my mom was pretty nervous too, but after meeting George she felt better as well. She said she wouldn't have changed a thing about Straight To The Point. I would absolutely recommend going here :) Thank you to George and Straight To The Point! Pros: welcoming atmosphere, very professional, george Cons: NONE! more

Sweet and Simple 8/19/2009

emily is graceful and totally talented. went in for a re-piercing and she was able to work with what little scar tissue i had. no pain whatsoever. the glass walls around the room give a feeling of peace rather than a creepy dr's room vibe. well done ladies. i like your style. Pros: rad chicks, tender touch more

Straight is right 8/10/2009

Emily rocks. We, 3 generations of women plus 1 friend, went in with the idea of my daughter, her friend and me getting anchor piercings done. We all did but while we were there, my 60+ year old mom decided to get one too. All the piercers are great, we have had Alec do my surface and my daughter's anchor piercing, Nick changed out a problem anchor jewel and I think by now, everyone but Areon has changed out my tygon tube in the back of my neck. Everyone of them is professional and friendly. When they get to know you and you get to know them, you realize you are part of their family. Emily did all of our anchor piercings the day we stopped in, 8 in all and every single one of them was done quickly and perfectly. I send people to them as much as possible because when you want the best, you go to the best. Alec trains his people very well and takes pride in the business he owns. They know their business inside and out and go 'Straight To The Point' of getting the job done right. Love to them all. Pros: The best in Portland Cons: Not any more

Cleanest facility and Mom Friendly 7/19/2009

I had never had a piercing before and decided to get my nose pierced. My mom had come with me and the staff there was absolutely amazing. George was so sweet and made me feel at ease wven when i got nervous. The staff was both professional and took the time i needed. They helped me with care instructions and did not hesitate to spend extra time with me and my mother answering our questions. Overall a great experience and someday ill head back in. Pros: Great atmoshpere, George more

Even if you've never been pierced before 7/1/2009

Went for my first piercings yesterday during my lunch break. From the moment I entered the stylish studio, Nick was kind, helpful, and answered every stupid question I could utter in my nervousness. Then his calm confident manner relaxed me. The procedure was painless, and it was clear Nick was taking every precaution to prevent infection and make this a successful experience. My only regret was that as a novice in this arena, it took me a while to realize that a tip would have been appropriate; so I returned with an envelope for Nick today. Pros: Welcoming, pleasant, careful protocol Cons: can't think of any unless you want an early morning piercing more

Wouldn't have done it anywhere else... 6/28/2009

I went in to Straight to the Point on a whim a few weeks ago to ask about getting a microdermal piercing just below my left eye. The staff was knowledgeable, but also kind and approachable, something I have rarely experienced in piercing or tattoo shops. They talked me through the whole process, and I left confident that I would return.\r \r George wound up doing my piercing the following Wednesday. He was fantastic - calming and tolerant of my nervous joke-cracking. The pain was far less extreme than I expected, and they were patient with me when I had to hang out for awhile (I'm always a bleeder - has nothing to do with them!). Even my friends who came along for support felt welcome. Four days later, I have yet to experience any major bruising or swelling- just a little puffiness that you wouldn't notice unless you knew me really, really well. I could not possibly have been more impressed with Straight to the Point, and I will be recommending them to all of my friends who are jealous of my pretty new piercing!\r \r Thanks George! I love it! Pros: Kind, friendly, professional staff, clean space Cons: none. more
