New Planet Moving & Storage

I read all the posted reviews before making my decision when I moved from Chicago to Palm Springs. I was dubious about the service I might receive, since NP's price was so reasonable. The estimate generated over the phone from my ""inventory list"" was almost identical in weight to a reliable, reputatable Chicago-based mover, but was $1500 less, so I went for it. My contacts were ALWAYS polite, knowledgable, and available! The 2 packers called in advance, worked until 10 PM to finish my packing (I underestimated the inventory items by 50%) but I upped the total weight as a pre-caution. I was unsure, but flexible, on my delivery date, which eased the process. The actual delivery, when finalized, only took 3 men about 3 hours, /w half the furniture going up stairs to a second floor guest apt. Furniture only suffered minor scratches on a few items. I would definitely recommend this company, despite the negative reviews I read...having worked in retail for over 30 years, some people are NEVER satisfied, regardless of what they get! more

I was honestly shocked to find that moving with a moving company was actually less expensive than moving myself. I had a great experience nothing broke and my price stayed where they quoted me. I will recommend this company to friends and family in the future. It cost me only $1400 to move 2,000miles. more

body \r I just wanted to take a few moments to let everyone know the great customer service I received with new planet moving. After 50 million calls and emails I felt that my phone would not stop ringing. So I buckled down and decided to start with 5 companies. So I randomly picked 5 estimates and then sent my itemized list to them. After going thru the prices of all of them and what they offered I narrowed it down to 2. The thing that won me over about new planet was the customer service I received. Every time I called they had a live person answer the phone. I started out by working with Lesley then I also worked with the dispatcher summer. Summer was the one who told me where the truck was and when I was getting my items. The movers who moved my items were very nice and seemed to know what they were doing. They wrapped everything I needed them to and even threw in a box for free. I was worried about delivery because I didn’t have my house yet but they gave me a week of storage for free. Just FYI she said up to 30days but I didn’t need that long. Once I got delivery the guys that unloaded my stuff were just as nice and unwrapped all of my furniture and like lesley said he did put my tv back on the tv stand and my beds and kitchen table back together. The only thing that broke was a glass from my kitchen. But I guess that is acceptable considering my move was almost 2000 miles. I was initially attracted to this company because when I started to talk to different people I felt like I was in the old days of telemarketing scams. Every other word out of some peoples mouth was ""what's the card number""... So I called back to Lauren at New Planet Moving because she made me feel so comfortable from the first phone call. She explained to me the differences between all of the different companies, she gave me a good rate and explained everything very much in detail so i felt comfortable with her. I did some looking online and their reviews were pretty good, and much better than 4 of the other companies I was comparing. So as I was comparing I finally chose this company. From start to finish I had a good experience. There were no damages to my stuff, the movers did an amazing job and moved everything quickly, and the rate the girl gave me upfront was the same thing I paid at the destination. I am very happy to say that I had a great move. more

Dealt with a guy there named Chris, rude and sarcastic are just a few of this geniuses qualities. He has no idea how to quote a move which to me reflects on the whole company. Any who......everything this clown told me was a lie! Dont be fooled by his sweet tone more

I just want to tell you that we were pleased with your service from beginning to end. The guys at pick up were courteous and efficient. We made contact with Carlos. He was kind and kept us up to date as to when he would be delivering. Both guys were patient and did a nice job. My daughter was a little stressed during delivery and at the end found damage on a Secretary Desk. Carlos took a picture and said they would take care of it. He couldn't have been nicer. Later, I was able to point out that the damage was not on the part of New Planet but at another time period. When she was able to be calm, she had to agree that it was not New Planet's fault. i moved with them they called me afterward asked me how everything went it was good- no issues so i had no complaints and i will recommend them, they did ask me if i had a chance to review them to do so... but they derserve it, afterall i looked them up onlnie in the first place., good compoany good guys no crap im good. more

They gave me a great deal, told me how to prepare for everything, had moving labels on thier website so i could label all of my boxes as needed. I moved from Cali to DC and had no drama with these people. I have a bunch of friends-coworkers relocating, and I already recommended them. Moving sucks no matter what in my opinion, I have moved 3 times and I hate it. But this one was pretty smooth, and I had no issues with the bill, or breakage to my things. more

I live in Atlanta and needed to move my mother to live with me. She is 83 now and as much as it has turned my life upside down and sideways i absolutley had to have her here. The thing was that in Michigan in the little city she was in didnt really have any moving companies that could go out and take a look at what she had. This really concerned me because all I read says only go with companies that can come to your home and do a ""binding quote"" I didnt even know what binding was but I did a ton of research and found that most companies do quotes to and from everywhere so I decided to go through the house with my mom on the phone and have her tell me everything that she had, i gave the same list to Lauren at New Planet Moving and she told me a price that sounded great, she then recommended that i overestimated an additional 500lbs to protect myself from going over. I headed to her advice. She was really nice and whenever i called or emailed her she always got right back with me. The office called me the day before the move to let me know what time they would arrive at my moms. When they did arrive they found that my mom had not finished packing her stuff. The driver called me (which i was so greatful for) I was concerned about the additional fees that could come up and was relieved when he called to let me know exactly what was going to be needed. I am never happy to spend money, but at least he gave me a good rate- all the items were delivered and only a few minor dings here and there. I was quoted a 10 day delivery window and recieved my moms items on day 8. Overall a great experience and I dont know too many people that can say they had even a decent experience with thier move. more

i moved from ohio to nevada and i had a great move. they told me theyd come on the 1st or the 2nd, and they called me two days before to let me know i was moving on the 1st and that was good because i really wanted to leave on the 2nd. the movers were very helpful and gave me a break on the long carry from my apartment in ohio. i gave them pizza and then we went to the scale. i decided to do that so that i could pay my balance then and not worry about it later. my weight was 120lbs over but they said that they would have the office call me to check it out-- well when the guy called he told me that since i didnt add anything, i wasnt going to have to pay more- i was so greatful. i had my items stored for 2 weeks so i could find my new place, and although they moved my items into and out of storage before bringing them to me, all of my stuff was good, nothing was broken. the movers at delivery were also cool and set up all my stuff for me too-. i asked them how i could thank them and they told me that reviews are so important these days (and they are because i looked at a million movers and they all had bad reviews), so i posted one for them. thanks new planet i will recommend your copany more

mayflower will charge you double for the same crap. new planet was upfront and forced me to overquote so i didnt turn into one of the customers that go over- im happy my stuffs all good- and i paid 1200 bucks- thanks more

As an insurance agent I work in a service industry and I know how hard it is to please everyone no matter how within your rights you are. Especially when you have a high volume of customers. I just got my delivery from this company and I had one issue which was a small scratch on my tv stand. Before choosing them I looked up a ton of movers and some were all bad and some were half and half.
