i was impressed 7/21/2010

I was impressed in the manner they packaged my belongings with care. They let me know everything they were doing. more

satisfied 7/20/2010

just to piggy back off what the last guy or gal said i had a similiar experience there were a lot i could have been charged for as well but luckly for me they were really nice and waived a lot of fees. this to is the first time using a moving company and i have learned a lot but in the future there are things i to would do differently.\r 1.make sure your things are properly packed or they will want to repack it and it cost for that.\r 2.make sure your inventory list is correct and dont ad anything on at the last minute i am not sure why this matters but it does.\r 3.if you have glass learn how to crate.\r as of now i would use them again. Pros: they always answer there phones Cons: there were none more

They were so awesome even at the last minute! 7/19/2010

They were so nice, i found them searching online on some website that you can compare quotes on. Shortly after a nice girl called me from there and one of the first things she asked was... do you really need to move tomorrow? I said yes and told her my story, well she got me all picked up and gaev me an awesome rate on packing services too. I just recieved my items in perfect conditiona nd wanted to say thank you and i will recommend you guys to everyone! Pros: They came next day gave me a great deal and didnt change it! more

I totally impressed with the new planet 7/16/2010

I was totally impressed with New Planet moving from the beginning when Trish handled my calls and made my reservations. She made everything seem so simple and she was extremely helpful. more

They did an awesome job for me so.... 7/8/2010

I guess I got lucky? But then again maybe these other people didnt have all of thier ducks in a row. either way my experience with new planet moving was overall great. from lauren in sales to max the driver and joe the dispatcher. I was in storage for a little over a week, and got to know them all pretty well over the phone. They were always available for us, and our move weight went less so we didnt even have to pay as much as we planned. I hope that people will understand that mad customers always speak louder than happy ones. Now i see why they requested that we write reviews online rather than send a reference letter. Thank you new planet! Pros: Great rates, awesome movers and office ppl Cons: Nothing more

I wonder why I was so special 7/8/2010

While we were planning for our move, we did a ton of estimates to compare and try to get the best deal. We came accross New Planet Moving in the Embarq phone book, and moved with them about a month ago. they did awesome from beginning to end, I will admit that they were 2 days later than we expected but hey given the fact that there is no such thing as a guaranteed delivery in this business, that was great. other than that they took great care of my items, my mom and i will recommend lauren and new planet moving for a long time to come and thanks guys Pros: Supoer nice movers, great service on the phone Cons: Took 2 days longer for delivery more

Nice and friendly 7/8/2010

Not only was anyone (i called at very random hours a lot) available who answered the phones able to answer my very specific questions, everyone was extremely nice and friendly. more

NEVER USE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 7/7/2010

My sister used them to have her stuff moved from AZ to GA. On the day of pickup the drivers were about an hour and a half late getting to my house, they did apologize but it messed up my schedule. We were thinking that they would start driving about a day or two after pick up....we were dead WRONG!!!! They didn't start driving to GA until 6 yest that's right 6 days later. It's been almost a month since her stuff was picked up from my house and she's just now getting it! Not to mention they were going to screw her over on the weight and add a total of $400 more to her bill!!!! She decided to meet them at a weigh station and even had to have an officer on stand by so they didn't try any funny business with her. When she finally got her stuff all of her boxes were DAMAGED, she packed them well and even wrote FRAGILE on the top of them. The boxes containing my late mothers dishes were upside down and destroyed!!!! When I called to place a claim the ""manager"" said that ""I wasn't his customer"" and that ""I was wasting his time"" and hung up on me. How professional right?!?! Bottom line if you want your property damaged and you don't care if you get screwed over then use them....if not then STAY THE HELL AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: NOT ONE THING Cons: EVERYTHING more

Professional 7/5/2010

I have been telling everyone how professional, cost effective, courteous and timely your moving company was. Pros: Professional, cost effective, courteous more

Do not trust them at all, even Leslie...STAY AWAY 6/24/2010

So I hired New Planet Moving and Storage after my wife and I both spoke with Leslie on the telephone about the reviews that they had received. I was concerned because there had been some very horrible ones but I decided to give them a chance. \r \r So moving day comes and they show up about 2 hours and 30 minutes late. The day started with a rather akward moment as a mover named Max with a heavy Russian sounding accent decided to open my wifes middle dresser drawer. There were a few items left in the drawer that we wanted to move, mainly my wifes underwear and bras. Instead of asking if we wanted to pack them in the dresser the decided to just reach in and start picking up the underwear and bras just holding them in his hands while he spoke to my wife. I'm sorry but that is not appropriate.\r \r From there on out the day went fairly uneventful though. Fairly close to the end of the move Max came to my wife and I and explained how much cubic footage we had on the truck and explained there was a good chance that we were over our estimated weight. He explained again after calling his office that it would be $ 0.79/lb, yes seventy nine cents per pound for every pound over our estimated weight. My wife and I were completely fine with that as we had signed the contract for services at the price expecting that if we went over we would have to pay more. \r \r So the movers load the rest of the stuff on the truck and get ready to go. They said the only moving station they could use was over 30 miles away, when I live in the middle of Phoenix so I knew this much to be untrue but I figured not a problem and got a copy of the weight information from before they picked up to include the time and date stamp from the weigh ticket. \r \r Well after two days of calling and trying to get the weight of our goods I finally got ahold of Joe from dispatch. He was kind enough to inform us that out good were 500lbs. over the estimated weight. My wife and I were completely prepared to pay the extra money that would be required, no questions asked. For those that do not want to do the math that comes to an additional $395.00. You can imagine my suprise when Joe tells me it was going to be an additional $916.00 over the contract price for our 500 lbs. He then tried to go on about how we used more space than we though and we had more items than our estimate, which we did.\r \r And we spoke with Leslie about how we were not really sure on how much it would actually be, and that our stuff was very light. (We knew that for those that are wondering because we had moved with a different moving company less than 1 year before this move.) Leslie's response was the exact same as the mover's comments, you will have to pay the $0.79/lb for anything over your estimated weight. \r \r So of course we said we were not going to pay that. Joe said he would talk with Leslie because she should have had some kind of management override to even book our job, let alone send out and process contracts. Joe eventually told me later that day about seven phone calls later with no success at reaching him that the owner had our contract and paperwork and would be calling us on Friday. Well here I sit today on the following THURSDAY and I finally get Joe to get on the phone with me. \r \r He decides to let me know that the owner was kind enough to knock $300 off the price that Joe decided we should pay. At this point I of course am completely livid and explain, or at least try to explain that I will be contacting the Nevada Attorney General and the Nevada Transportation Authority. His response to that is to call me a liar about what we had for good to be shipped and to tell me they have been in business for 10 years and he isn't scared of me. Then he let me know he would be telling the manager to take back the discount he offered and to have our lawyer contact them. \r \r Please take my advice...STAY AWAY!!! Cons: Rude, inappropriate, liars, and cheaters more

WARNING!!! STAY AWAY!!! 6/6/2010

I hired New Planet to move me from Arizona to Oregon. Leslie got me all set up and she was really nice. I read alot of good reviews about them online and so I felt that it was ok to go ahead and hire them. I called several times before moving day to confirm the pick up time. 9am on pick up day came and went and nobody showed up. Nobody in the corporate office would answer because it was a weekend. About 2pm the movers finally showed up. Never got an I'm sorry for being 5 hours late just excuse after excuse after excuse. They blamed it on dispatch saying that they were told I was in Prescott, AZ when I was actually in Tempe, AZ. Said there was a fire on I-17 which there was not. They finally arrived and I was off doing some other things in another room of the house, they finished, had me sign the paperwork and left. About 5 minutes after they left I walked to the back bedroom to pick up my purse and computer, and noticed my I-Pod which was sitting on top of my laptop charging was now missing... I had to wait until Monday to file a complaint, and all they told me was just file a police report, get us a copy and we will reimburse you... kinda hard to do when you don't live in Tempe, AZ anymore. So on Monday I started calling at 9am to complain about the movers being so late to pick-up Joe in disbatch avoided my calls until almost 3pm that day. I had to repeatly call, at one point the receptionist refused to transfer me to dispatch, we argued and I eventually hung up and then called back later. So I finally get ahold of Joe and he tells me that my delievery date which I was told was going to be that Wednesday was not even going to leave Las Vegas till Thursday and I would have my stuff by Saturday or Sunday, and then that turned into Sunday or Monday which then turned into Monday. The movers who dropped off my stuff were rather nice, they at least called me to give me a heads up when they got close to the area. Overall my experience was bad, alot of sleepless nights wondering if I was ever going to see my stuff again. They may be cheaper then other moving companies but its for a reason... Beware, Stay away, don't use them! Pros: Leslie, and the movers who delivered mystuff Cons: Joe in dispatch, and the mover who picked my stuff up more

Great Movers 5/10/2010

Great movers! I had lots of glass furniture, nothing broken or scratched. The price was the best quote I got and the mover in charge, Al, went above and beyond to make the move efficient, safe and quick. The customer rep Trish was extremely helpful in explaining all charges and everything I needed to know to prepare for the move. I would absolutely recommend these guys any day! Especially if you get Trish and Al to work with! Thanks guys for making my first long distance move a painless one! Pros: Excellent cutomer service and careful movers more

Sales people will sell you. 4/23/2010

I have to speak on behalf of a third party that was forced into taking the only option out of a very bad situation by their insurance company that denied a claim. This company sub's out all of your moving experiences with them, and the people mentally force you to make a statement and sign documents then tell you ""it's Okay that's why you have insurance"", which is not that true if you read the fine print. But I am taking it upon myself to WARN other victims especially women of this company. DO NOT TRUST THEM OR THE INSURANCE COMPANY THEY DEAL WITH IT IS ONE BIG RACKET. That's my opinion from what I have witnessed first hand, and I'm sticking to it until New Planet takes responsibility to make things right. And for those that have got screwed by them as well please report them to the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU as I would like them to take responsibility for their incompetence. This is not slander , it is factual and I do not recommend ever doing business with these people, ever. Most unprofessional company I have ever seen operate.... David Spall. Pros: Nothing Cons: They lie and tell you what you want to here more

Satisfied with results 3/1/2010

My husband and I moved from CA to TX. We had most of our furniture still in storage (off-site location) and we lived in a small two-bedroom apartment on the third floor. My husband negotiated on how to give us the best estimates. Melissa, contact person of NPMS (New Planet Moving & Storage), was very helpful and courteous to us and provided us with good suggestions before signing the contract. On moving day two guys showed up who were fast and efficient in getting furniture packed and transported to the truck. The offsite location took another good three hours to pack up. Delivery in Texas was prompt with two guys unloading our belongings. The men were friendly and moved fast without damaging any items. We had more damage done to our own furniture moving the first time without using professional movers. This time we had no loss or damaged goods. We were pleased with the experience and feel that using this company made our move a lot less stressful. We would recommend these guys again. Thanks for a job well done. The Reynosos Pros: fast and efficient; kept contract more

Not bad !! 2/11/2010

I used these folks to move my family from UT to FL.. We have moved many times in my husband's career, so I like to think I pretty much know what to expect. I went online & got ALOT of phone calls from moving companies, and decided to see who ""really did"" have the best rate. These guys told me to get United to come look, and they would guarantee my price based on United's findings. So, I did.. I have 15,000 lbs worth of junk (who knew how quick a family could accumulate so much stuff?) and United's price almost made me have heart failure. \r \r I spoke with my girl at this place, and sent her the estimate United gave me, and she beat their price by over 1/3rd !! I was skeptical, at first, who wouldn't be, right ? So I went online & did some research, and got even more scared. After all, who WANTS to be a horror story, right ? But, with money tight, I and with the answers the girl gave me over the phone regarding the bad reviews I found, we decided to take the chance. \r \r I'm so glad we did! The movers that came out to our home in UT were nice, clean, friendly, and professional. They had us fully loaded & were pulling out within 5 hours, which is much faster than we were used to. We got the driver's cell phone number, and confirmed all of our FL contact info & planned on meeting again in about 10 days. \r \r We got a call from Joe a couple days into our trip, and he told us our goods ended up weighing pretty much exactly as what United had estimated, so our price would not change, and reminded us what our total was, and to pay it in cash or money order to the driver at delivery. We had not expected this call, as our girl had promised us a guaranteed rate, but were happy our price did not change. \r \r About 7 days later we got a call from our driver who told us his other customer on his truck he was delivering was unable to take his goods becuase something about his house falling through, and he wondered if we were available to take ours early ? He said we could wait for original date, but was available if we were.. Well, needless to say, we were VERY pleased, as everyone knows staying in a hotel is no fun if you're not on a vacation, especially with kids! \r \r So, our driver & the same crew arrived the next day in the afternoon, and delivery went just as great as loading did. The guys that took our beds & tables apart put them back together again, and we did not receive any major damages or lost items. \r \r So, all in all, I'm not understanding why all the negative comments, and although I'm not normally one to go online to give praise, I feel as though I owe it to anyone out there that might be thinking about using these guys that apparently not everyone has a bad experience. \r \r I would use them again, and will refer them to my friends & family. Pros: Good price, good service Cons: fear of use more

NEVER USE THESE GUYS! NEVER EVER!! 2/6/2010

Everything the others say bad about this company is entirely true and more - much, much more. I'd give this company 0 stars if I could. Before you read the 5-star reviews, look at the top and ask yourself this question: Why are all the reviews but one either 5-stars or 1 star? I don't believe the 5-star reviews were made by real customers but by someone trying to improve the star-rating of this company. It's not logical that they can be so hideous with 1/2 the reviews and glorious with the other half & not have something in between. In order for someone to raise the star ratings of this company, they would HAVE to post 5-star reviews. If after you read these reviews you still choose to use them, then you'll get what the rest of us got and you will regret it. You might as well hire your attorney as soon as you pay your deposit. Pros: NOTHING! Cons: TOO MANY TO LIST HERE!! more

Liars 12/7/2009

Liars, Liars, Liars. Lauren is nothing but a Lying sales woman. They say they use their own employees and trucks (no sub-contracting). That was the first lie. The truck that showed up delivering to my new home was some trucking company out of Miami. The truck was loaded out of the NP&S Warehouse and was litterraly crammed in this trailer with someone elses belongings. It was so crammed it took these delivery guys 30+minutes to figure out how to even begin. Once unloaded, we found multiple, mulitiple crushed, broken and torn boxes with many damaged articles inside, not to mention the broken kitchen chair, end table, futon, and many item with cosmetic damage. Then, of course, they screwed me with the final cost $2,000 + more than estimated becuase of the 'weight"" and of course they hold you ranson if you don't pay before they unload. Criminal and liars....ESPECIALY LAUREN. Pros: The movers who initially picked up my stuff Cons: The end Result more
