I thought i was dealing with professionals,I should have walked out the minute that man gave me attitude.Not only he rude,but he chopped of all my hair when i only wanted a trim. I am stuck with a bad raircut untill i can get a new stylewhen it grow back out!!!! more

New Management and Better Experience 1/26/2012

There is a new look and feeling in the Spa now and you can tell the new management has made positive changes. I am a long time customer of Kim (waxing, facials- GREAT experience). They have specials now that save money and have changed the color scheme to a very soothing feel. If you had a bad experience before, I would give them another shot. more

Upgraded! 1/2/2012

Jolie has definally stepped it up. Im a long time hair client of Hollys (who is awsome by the way) and the past few times I've been the place seems to look better and better. They have painted pretty much everything even the ugly green stairwell. Its now an inviting light blue. Its got an awsome view out the huge window and they always have promotins going on for each month. I think this is a very fun and friendly place and they really try to take care of you while you are there. Its definally a place that I would give a try. more

So-so 7/25/2011

The facility needs a face-lift. It's comfortable but old-looking. Definitely a salon, not a spa. It's not a relaxing waiting area, the changing spaces are like typical gym or public restrooms. The check-in and phone staff were courteous. The masseuse and pedicurist were polite, friendly and didn't talk too much. However, my $65 custom pedicure lasted half as long (about 30 minutes) as a $26 'spa' pedicure at the typical strip-mall nail salon I frequent. The polish looks pretty but it was not indulgent or relaxing. The massage was well done, too, but for my money - I'd rather visit a place that either costs less or gives you more of an experience. Better options out there. more

Worst Bikini Wax 5/30/2011

I have visited Jolie numerous times and always had hit or miss experiences. I left the past time visiting bleeding and bruised. I was visibly bruised and swollen for about a week after my basic bikini wax. The procedure was extremely rough compared to any other wax I have ever received at this spa. Even when asking to be more gentle and to be more aware of my personal space the attendee did not oblige or think my concerns were valid. After a week on a vacation with purple bruised inner thighs and bikini area I visited the spa for a refund and to have a chat about my experience. The manager was a total prick and acted like I was in the wrong. Needless to say I will never be visiting this spa again after 3 years of service. I would NOT recommend this spa to anyone looking for a relaxing, easy, gentle bikini wax. more

Hit or Miss here! 12/28/2010

The first time I went here it was during Spa Week and I got a marvelous massage. After that it was down hill. I have returned several times to get mediocre massages and once I got a nice one from a girl that I never saw again. Yesterday one man even dropped sweat on me several times while massaging me and that was just awful. The manicurist is wonderful and I got my air cut once by some man from Pitt County and it was not worth the money I paid. I would say skip Jolie because it is not very jolie. more

Best Facial Ever!! 6/3/2010

I had a facial done with Valentina. It was great!! she was very careful to get all my blackhead out. I enjoyed the service and would definitely do it again and recommend it . If you want someone to not just apply products but to also help your skin detox and get your pores unclogged she is the one!! Pros: Great service Cons: no promotions more

Sign your privacy and legal rights away to get a facial 1/9/2010

I'm not sure what this company's lawyers are up to, but the sign-in sheet itself is a release of your right to sue the company (make you wonder if a lot of their clients need that recourse). Then there is a two page form, one page asking questions about your medical history, then one page requiring releases for every procedure they do. When I paused at sign-in to read the document, the receptionist tried to hurry me up -- "You just sign right there". I replied that I wasn't in the habit of signing things I hadn't read. Then when I got the second form I wasn't all that worried about the medical questions -- one might share history of back pain with your masseuse -- except that it goes into Jolie's computer with none of the privacy rights that a medical facility would give you. The back page of that form required that I give blanket release for a list of spa services -- at that point I balked. I refused to sign for any of the services I wasn't taking. The receptionist made a big fuss, I offered to leave. I certainly won't be visiting any of the Premier Spa Collections. Pros: location Cons: Three pages of legal paperwork to get any services more

Mary Jo is fantastic 11/19/2009

I have seen Mary Jo for two facials and one eyebrow waxing. All 3 experiences have been wonderful. She is very knowledgeable about what specific types of skin need, and always explains things to me in full detail. The second time I went for a facial, I upgraded to the Signature Facial and it was SO relaxing! She is always leaving samples for me to try and I never feel any pressure to buy. I had gotten a gift certificate from my boyfriend to use at Jolie. I went in for a permanent wave and I definitely did not get that. I had a perm but, it fell out the very next day. I called them back and they did another perm a couple days later. The stylist, she was really friendly, missed parts of my hair and thus some of my hair was curly and some was not. It looked ridiculous. I didn't notice until I got home (another city) and realized it looked terrible. Since I have thick course hair, it was recognizable immediately. I had a relaxer done and that was that. I called Jolie spa a week later to explain what happened and asked what could be done. The manager, Chris, seemed to never come to work and never returned my phone calls. After a week of phone tag, he finally called me back and made me feel as though I was just asking for a handout. Instead of sympathizing with my situation, he made me feel like a criminal and only offered a minimal percentage off the next hair style. I feel that Jolie took advantage of the fact that I wasn't able to come back so they could see the half straight/half curls. Please do not get your hair styled here. I still have over 50 dollars on my gift card and I refuse to go back. Cons: bad management and awful customer service more

Loved It! 2/26/2009

I had my first day spa experience at Jolie. That was about 7 years ago. I was extremely nervous and only went because I received a gift certificate. I had the most relaxing and refreshing experience and now go about 5-6 times per year for a facial with Lynn. I always leave feeling on top of the world. She recommends products when I ask and has offered samples. I have also found Chris to be very helpful and friendly. He always checks with me when I get ready to leave to make sure that I enjoyed my spa day. I always look forward to my next visit and recommend Jolie to anyone looking for an escape from their hectic day! Pros: Love the candles Cons: 25 minute drive from my home more

Accomodating and taking the time for you 2/19/2009

I was looking for a nearby spa to get some waxing done. Looked up on the net and made an appointment. Then it occurred to me to read some reviews! I was honestly petrified to go there when I read the reviews! I thought I will go for the legs waxing and decide if I will let them do the more intricate parts! I went there and was greeted well and liked my aesthetician when she came to pick me up. I agree the decoration is a bit outdated, but they have lots of room and maze-like corridors. She set me up and started nice conversations and she was very gentle, taking her time, and communicating with me as she proceeded. So guess what, I did end up staying for the intricate parts and it went alright! She even worked with me on a breathing technique to reduce the pain! I wish they would do some renovation and make the place look better. I preferred that a girl would answer the phone instead of a guy, and you don't really want the male manager ask you how you felt after your waxing! some little things ... but I am generally happy with the job they did especially that they really put the time for me. more

give me a break with the "disgruntled employee" excuse! that is what every business uses as their excuse for every negative review given. why doesn't managment of this spa spend more time correcting the things that legitimate customers are complaining about instead of writing fake "perfect" reviews about themselves! i logged onto this site to complain about a less than pleasurable (better yet, horrible) massage that i got at jolie spa, but after reading the other reviews, i see that it is a waste of time. how desperate (not to mention, completely pathetic) that the only good reviews written about this spa are written by employees,obviously not the "disgruntled" ones! I for one am extremely surprised about some of the negative feedback. I have been going to Jolie for years and have never spoken (in person) to ANYONE who has anything bad to say. Everyone I know speaks volumes about the spa, management, and staff, and I can tell you from personal experience that the services are amazing! It looks more and more like a few disgruntled employees are probably mad that they couldn't meet the expectations...possibly writing the negative comments? Anyway...this is a great spa, great location, great services, and great staff! Pros: Location and Staff Cons: none more

I've been going to Jolie for about 5 years. The decor in the entry is a bit dated, but the location is convenient, the staff professional and friendly, and they do a great job at a reasonable price- so why go anywhere else? I've gone there for massages, and most recently (over the past 18 months or so) regular lower leg waxes and facials. I have been extremely satisfied with the service. I do see the same esthetician each time, Lynn, who does an excellent job: she is punctual, professional, and thorough. I'm pretty surprised to see the negative comments about the manager, Chris. He has always been cordial, and again, professional, and VERY accommodating when I had to make appointment changes or cancellations. I have not been walked in on while changing, but I do lock the door when I'm in the dressing room- it could happen if you don't! Pros: Location, staff, value more

Enjoyable experience 12/11/2008

Full disclosure: this is my first spa experience, so I have nothing to compare it too, I had a gift certificate to use, but I was extremely hesitant based on the previous reviews. Chris talked me into it and promised a full refund if I wasn't satisfied. I got a facial and microdermabrasion with Brenda. She was soft spoken and pleasant. Before every step, she explained what she was about to do. She asked my permission before doing the "extractions", which were uncomfortable, but not painful. At the end of my session, I was given samples, but no pressure to purchase anything. It does seem that the previous reviewers had terrible experiences, but if you voice your concerns, it seems the employees do everything to ameliorate the situation. Pros: Friendly staff that put you at ease Cons: I could hear people walking around outside during my "mask time". more

Terrible Salon - SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! Awful service!!! 10/30/2008

I'm glad to see all the bad reviews and to know that people felt the same way I did when going into this horrific salon!! The service is absolutely atrocious, the employees were somewhat accomodating, and the facial I got was the worst! It was the most unrelaxing experience I have ever had and the worst part is, SPAS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE VERY RELAXING!! It's really really sad to me that this salon couldn't care less about their customers and how they are being treated. This is by far the worst salon AND worst run business I have ever seen. The manager is a total jack*** and I don't see how he even considers himself a "manager" because he doesn't do anything to assist customers and he couldn't care less about thier experience. This salon is truly a joke, and I would advise everyone to save their money, I really don't see how this salon stays in business.. Worst spa ever! Really - DO NOT waste your money! 10/28/2008

I had the WORST experience I have EVER had at a spa at Jolie! First of all, this was a gift from my boyfriend, which I was very much looking forward to a nice relaxing facial and unfortunately turned out to be the COMPLETE OPPOSITE! I arrived 15 minutes early, was actually warmly greeted by those working at the front desk, filled out my paperwork, then went back to the locker room to change into my robe. After waiting on the couch for the esthetician, she finally came to get me for my facial and was COMPLETELY AND UTERLY rude!!! She spoke 5 words to me, maybe, the whole treatment, never once cracked a smile or looked like she was happy to do her job. To be completely honest, she looked like she was EXTREMELY angry about something and was taking it out on me. And the most unbelievable part of the whole experience was that she failed to explain or even tell me what she was doing to my face during the facial, what products she was using or what they were for. Excuse me, but this was a CUSTOM facial and it was anything but custom!!! Then she popped a few blackheads without even telling me which hurt like hell and I was totally unprepared for. Overall it was the WORST facial I have EVER had and I feel so bad that my boyfriend wasted his money on this! and most importantly, before writing this review, I emailed the manager to let him know what happened, he has YET to email me back and its been over a week! OBVIOUSLY they don't care about their customers, which is why I will NEVER EVER go back here nor will I advise anyone to that awful spa! Seriously, I cannot believe how unprofessional Brenda was in performing my facial, I hope everyone reads all these reviews before they decide to waste their money here!
