Best

There is a new look and feeling in the Spa now and you can tell the new management has made positive changes. I am a long time customer of Kim (waxing, facials- GREAT experience)....

Worst

Recently I purchased a gift certificate at Jolie and was treated like a weasel. All I wanted to do was to purchase a gift certificate for my girlfriend. The staff member handlin...

Worst experience ever! 10/11/2008

I travel for work. I've visited many spas all over the country. This was a horrible experience! I arrived about 5 minutes early. I was told that my services may be cut short because I had to fill out paperwork first. I have never been "greeted" so abruptly at a spa. When I was escorted to the locker room I was placed in the Men's/coed locker room. While I was undressed and before I got my robe on a male client opened the door, he got a free show at my expense and thanks to Jolie's unprofessionalism. I have no complaints about the therapist, they were professional. But the floors in the massage room and the facial room were sticky. While I was receiving my massage I couldn't relax because of all the noise. I heard people walking in hard soled shoes on the tile floor outside my room. I looked for the construction site because it sounded like the walls were coming down around me. When I left I asked to speak to a manager, but he was not available. I waited more than 20 minutes, he never showed up. I will NEVER GO BACK!!!!!!!! Pros: My departure Cons: Choosing this dump more

Terri is my "hair girl" 9/23/2008

I go to Terri for a trim and have been for about a year. She totally gets me and that's really important because "getting me" seems to be an integral part of "getting my hair right". She has a good artistic eye along with the "horse sense" that seems to come natural to a small town girl like herself. She has given me cuts and trims that not only look good the day of the styling, but grow out well until it is time for the next trim. I really appreciate her work and down to earth sense of style- it is tough to find. Pros: pleasant staff Cons: tacky faux painting in stairwell more

Go To Mindy 7/23/2008

I went to Jolie for the first time yesterday; I called a day before and got set up with a time immediately. I told them I'd never been to Jolie before and was looking to get an all-over color from someone in a mid-price range and could he reccomend someone - who was Mindy. When I went there the ambience wasn't as awesome as alot of salons I've been to, but still I liked how it was comfy and not too fussy. I told Mindy what I wanted and she reccomended that I do highlights/lowlights and so I went along with it. It's honestly the best haircolor I've ever had, and I've paid upwards of 150 for haircolor alone before. They also have a great selection of Essie nailpolish that I LOVE. One drawback was that they charged me 25 for a blowdry & shampoo (which you HAVE to do when you get your hair colored) and I've never been charged for that before. But Jolie is definitely going to be my regular hairsalon in Raleigh more

the manager is a complete pr!(K 7/3/2008

I am giving Jolie a 1 star rating - only because that's the lowest rating this site will allow - but in reality one star for this place is an upgrade...the manager looks like a sexually confused 12 year old with gray hair and is very awkward with the customers - he was very condescending to me and acted like he was better than me. Honestly I was happy with all of the staff except him. He needs a reality check if he thinks that this place is something to be proud of. The "spa" was in desperate need of a makeover - starting with the manager. I have been more than once - just to see if he was having an 'off' day (which we all have at times) but this guy's ridiculous attitude remained the same. Thanks to him, I will not be a returning customer - and believe me I drop Money on spas. Pros: the exit Cons: the fact that Cameron Vill has to be disgraced by this "business" more

Mindy did an awesome job and I highly recommend her for coloring!! 5/16/2008

I just got back from getting my hair my hair done by Mindy and she is the first person who actually did what I wanted and I highly recommend anyone who needs help with high and low lites Mindy is the person to ask for. She really pulled through for me as I have been to very, very expensive salons in Raleigh and Nashville and yet she knew what to do compared to the other salons. I was nervous going because of some of the previous reviews but Mindy gave me 100% attention while I was there and was on time!! Too many times I have been to upscale salons where they are always running behind. It is amazing to me that the places I went before always left that orange brassy color and Mindy left the prettiest light brown with some blonde hilights. I only wish the salon had products of Bumble and Bumble in stock but I will not hold that against them as Bumble and Bumble is a nice line that everyone likes. I will be back and will recommend Mindy as that is who did my hair. Pros: Mindy knows what she is doing Cons: Salon needs to keep items in stock more

great waxing experience 5/9/2008

For the past year and a half, I have been getting a brazilian wax every 4 weeks and then once in a while a lip or underarm wax at Jolie's. The receptionists have always been friendly and Chris, the manager takes a professional interest in making certain I am comfortable and happy with Jolie's services. Lynn Kelly is usually the wax professional I use, but everyone there is very good. The price is reasonable. Pros: waxing results and reasonable rates more

Good Experience 4/21/2008

My husband bought me a gift card, we are new to the area. I checked out the place on here just to see what people were saying. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived for my services, the staff was professional and courtious. I have no complaints, I didn't see a little rude dude at all! the place could use some updating, but the service was great. I was on time for my appointment, and was treated with respect. Pros: Professional Staff Cons: Decor needs updating more

Myabe I'm an exception... 3/7/2008

...But I definitely did not have the same experience as a few of the reviewers. I went in for a hot-stone massage and although it was busy, the receptionists were very sweet and quick to get me in my room. I had the masseuse Becca and she was fantastic. She took time beforehand to explain what she would be doing and made sure I comfortable, since a massage with hot stones can be a little strange. I was also very happy that she talked me through it before she started, since trying to have a conversation with only a towel on when someone is giving you a massage can be distracting and a little awkward. The atmosphere was lovely and everyone seemed really friendly. I was surprised when the massage was over that Becca wasn't trying to push me out the door, like they do at other spas. I ran into the manager on my way to pay and maybe I caught him on a good day, but he was very quick to check and make sure my experience was to my expectations. No attitude or anything there. I know it's always different from the employee's perspective, but as a customer, I enjoyed my stay. I'm going back within the next few months, maybe I'll see what the negative thiis next time, but based on my experience, it's worth a second shot. Pros: Great massage, nice atmosphere more

Think this place is terrible for customers? Try working as an employee. Even worse! 3/5/2008

I'm relieved to see all the reviews complaining about the staff of Jolie because as a previous employee, I can assure you that you're complaints couldn't be closer to the truth. I took my first job here working as a receptionist and I only lasted three weeks before I literally ran crying out of there. Overall, the staff was not welcoming or friendly. One lady asked me my name and another lady said she didn't really care since none of the receptionists last very long. Hmm, I wonder why? The main reason is the manager. Some of you call him, "that short guy with the glasses", but his name is Chris and yes, he's a real pain. For instance, I was not allowed to sit or read AT ALL, even if the place was dead. He has an extremely strict dress code which he choses to enforce when he apparently feels like it. No halter dresses were allowed. However, when one of the other receptionists wore one, he did not tell her to change. He let her wear it all day with no complaints. The next day, I wore capri pants (unaware they were against the rules) which were slightly dressy since they were tailored and had flowers on them. He told me to go home and change immediately. I was so confused. Why did he allow her to break the rules but not me? Was it perhaps because her CHEST was about to fall out of the dress? Did he enjoy the show? Probably. I understand that I broke the rules and I was sorry. But I just got to work and I live 30 minutes away and he wants me to turn right around and go home. At least let me go during my lunch break. Or let me wear it today and I won't do it again. So I went home and never returned. I told him I wanted to come in later that day and talk to him, maybe we could work it out. But he said he didn't have any time that day. Ha, interesting. I am your employee and I need to talk to you and you don't have any time? Pros: THE EXIT. Cons: The manager and most of the staff. more

Manager is a joke! 2/17/2008

I went to Jolie to get a pedicure and my eyebrows waxed the atmosphere stunk but I didn't really care because I had just moved to Raleigh for my first year of college and I just needed to go somewhere for a little relaxation. Well when I was trying to check out my credit card wouldn't work, so I called my dad to let him know and try to figure out some way to pay for my services. Then I realized my parents where flying to Los Angeles and would be on the plane for the next 3 hours, already and embarrassed and scrambling to figure out what to do the manager( the short dude with the glasses) told me to move out of the way and motioned with his hands for me to move. He said your in the way and I wanted to say and you're so small I could probably put you in my pocket! It was beyond condescending and rude! So I finally got in touch with my sister who lives in Maui HI and asked her to pay for the service over the phone then he proceeded to tell me that I was trying to scam him or commit fraud! By this point I was mad and said are you kidding me I'm calling my sister across the world to pay for this and you think I'm trying to commit fraud. Needless to say I called him a D$@K on the way out and and never returned! Pros: THE EXIT Cons: Everything more

"Jolie The Worst Spa" - Poor management 1/5/2008

?Relax. Re-energize. Revitalize. Refresh. Transform.? Don?t Be fooled by false statements. This spa is way overpriced for its poor ambiance and lousy services. I received a spa treatment package that started off with a 30 minute massage which was cut in half because of all the paper work I had to fill out before my ?spa retreat?. The staff was unwelcoming, gloomy, and dry. But I don?t blame them, the manager is rude and very unprofessional!!! I do not recommend this spa to anyone. The 5 star ratings on this review were probably written by the staff themselves because I could not imagine anyone enjoying this place, yet alone remembering the staff?s name?s. Money down the drain I left the spa even more stressed than when I arrived. Pros: NONE Cons: Poor Management more

great massage 11/16/2007

i had no problems with this salon, and the deep tissue massage was awesome more

UGLY UGLY 8/3/2007

Usually when I go and get pamperd I expect the best. This "spa" did the worst job on everything. I came with my girlfriend who was from out of town on a girls mani/pedi/facial day. First off, the staff is VERY rude. SO FULL OF THEMSELVES. Anyways, my girlfriend and I got our pedicures and they were ok, but when I smudged my toe when I was being directed to the drying station and asked if they could fix it real quick, the girl said NO because she had another appointment. The facial was ok, nothing really to brag about. I felt like the girl was rushing. It was a Saturday and I know people have other appointments, but I expect to be the #1 priority with my esthetician at that time. Overall, this is NOT Cameron Village standards. The Customer Service was my biggest deal with them. Even when we were leaving, the girl at the front desk gave me attitude. If you really want to go somewhere nice, go to La Therapie or somewhere worth the money. more

Not worth time or money 6/15/2007

Probably the lamest spa I have ever been to. Went in for a pedicure recently and it was a total waste. The chairs were old and the environment was awful. Not a place to feel pampered. I had to go there because I had a gift card and honestly, I would never spend my own money there. There are plenty of other places that provide more for a $65 pedicure. The look and feel of the spa does not deliver at all and the quality of service matched the decor - nothing special. Needless to say, I won't be back. Pros: None Cons: Overpriced, terrible environment, LAME more

If you like Poor Management and Condescending Employees, Jolie is for you! 4/4/2007

The staff and management here are awful. I scheduled an apt. for myself and friend for mani/pedis (for the day before her wedding!) and when we got there, they allegedly had NO record of the appointment I had scheduled. The staff was EXTREMELY rude and unhelpful as I tried to resolve the matter, and the manager was no better. Against my better judgment, I went back some months later to purchase Bumble & Bumble hair products which are sold there. The staff was alternately pushy and condescending, making snide comments such as that a college student like myself may not be able to afford some of their pricier items. A member of the salon then critiqued my current hair color/style and implied that I was the victim of a "botched color job". I have never been so offended. Pros: THE EXIT Cons: pretentious staff, high prices, poor management. more

management a joke! 3/11/2007

Are you kidding me? This place was horrible! I spoke to a man to schedule a spa package over the phone and everything seemed fine. He confirmed I was scheduled to be there at 9am and stay for a couple hours of pampering. When I arrived on my scheduled date, the girl at the front desk said I wasnt on the schedule, so she went to get her manager. When he came out to see me, he apoligized and blah blah blah. He "forgot" to add me to the schedule. How is that possible? I advise anyone who is looking for a nice relaxing spa to go to La Therapie or somewhere actually worth the money. Also the place stinks, literally. I could barely walk up the stair well the smell was so bad. Pros: the exit Cons: everything more

are you kidding 2/21/2006

I think this place is a joke and lucky to still be in business. Apparently they are not aware of the other much nicer and better overall choices in Day Spas in the area. The staff is questionable but the management is LAUGHABLE where did they find these so called "managers"?? The best thing about this place is the EXIT. I had a gift package and feel as though I should pay the money back to my friend that bought it for me! Pros: the exit Cons: you can leave more

Excellent 1/28/2006

Chada is very talented and I received a wonderful haircut from her-- she is a great listener and is capable of doing anything you describe (within the limits of what your hair can do!). Very skilled! Friendly staff, great location, great lighting. Pros: natural lighting, location, talented stylist more

Great Experience 11/16/2005

I had a great first time to this spa; I have been to others before so I have something to compare them to. It was not the nicest inside that I have seen but overall it was a great experience. more

Great Idea! 9/7/2005

I bought my girlfriend a gift certificate months back for a visit at Jolie. She had never had a massage before and was very nervous so she kept putting off going. She finally made it there today for a massage, manicure and pedicure. I have to say, I was kind of nervous when she returned but she was so excited and pleased. She was shocked because the girl who did her massage, Erica was new and my girlfriend said she did not feel awkward at all. We could not be happier! Pros: down to earth, good location, friendly more
