good selection, terrible experience 1/7/2009

If you have a high tolerance for crowds and foreigners, go here. If not, pay full price. It's almost impossible not to leave her annoyed and never wanting to come back, unless you are walking out with that perfect bargain of a find. Pros: cheap, good selection Cons: crowds, crowds, crowds more

Designer suits for less 1/5/2009

I found several designer name suits here including Versace classic, Valentino, Zegna, and others for prices that were well below what you would normally pay. I can put up up with the bad service. Pros: Desinger names, cheaper prices Cons: Service more

i miss Century 21! 12/28/2008

Testing Facebook connect I moved to Berlin a year ago, and despite all the headaches associated with C21 shopping, i still miss the excitement and challenge of it all. If you have a car, head out to the C21 in Paramus, NJ, its much less picked over, less crowded, and its in the Bergen Mall, a fabulously 60s mod construction. Pros: best prices in town, great finds Cons: too many tourists and crowds, rude staff more

Great if you have time to comb through the mess. 12/26/2008

It is one of the most convenient and hence, the busiest, discount stores in Manhattan - the price caters for low to middle income brackets. The range of goods is excellent, but the quality can be questionable at times (the handbags are really, umm, ugly. Some of the Cole Haan bags are quite nice though, although not cheap enough as one would expect in a discount store). The men's attires are really good, but for ladies, well, it is a bit of a mess. You can find anything from cheap $9.90 tee-shirt to $2500+ Emilio Pucci dress. Some of the goods are really outdated, other looks like they belong in a seconds or a donation bin (buyers, beware of wear and tear and broken zippers on some items). Occasionally you will find things that are really nice at a reasonable price (the Juicy Couture selection are recommended). One will really have to spend a considerable amount of time to comb through everything, as it is unlikely anything will catch your eyes on first sight. ItÂ?s a bit of a mess, but hey, it might be worth it! Good luck! more

Not Worth The Time and Effort 12/21/2008

Customer service is the worst of NYC department stores. While shopping in NYC store there was a repeated announcement they were offering free delivery for shoppers who resided in Manhattan. When I requested my purchases be delivered as per their repeated announcement, the clerks insisted there was no such policy. After being referred to various registers and waiting on lines for almost an hour I demanded to see a manager. The manager also insisted there was no such policy as free delivery. At that very same moment the announcement came over the store PA system. The obnoxious manager claimed he was not responsible for an error made on the PA system. I demanded they honor the stores announcement. After another hour, and repeatedlly hearing the announcement for free delivery several times, the manager was able to arrange for the delivery. All the while the store manager complained to me how I was holding up the line. While most of the clerks are friendly, the stores management is not. Frankly, this store is not worth the time or effort. Cons: Consistently obnoxious management more

Outdated store policy: beware of customer ripoff 12/18/2008

I just returned from the store after spending an hour trying to return an item without a receipt. I bought it last week. They attach the sales receipts onto your bag. I guess, my receipt wasn't attached well to the bag, because when I got home I didn't find it there. Too bad the items didn't fit and i had to return them. First of all, if you don't have a receipt you have to fist stop by in the department where you bought it, and get the adjustment slip. Only after that you can go and stay in a pretty long line to return your stuff. When I got to the adjustment desk they told me that they have a new policy of taking 25% off every item, because I don't have the receipt. I said that I bought it last week with my credit card and that the items must appear on my credit card. After talking to a manager, the clerk finally agreed to check my credit card account. She called their office and, sure enough, they saw my purchase on the computer (they dont have computers at the adjustment desks -- they have to call somewhere...). The clerk got my transaction number and all needed info from the guy on the phone. Then she went to print out the receipt for me, however the info he gave her did not go through. She kept trying, however, no luck. I spen my entire lunch hour by the adjustment desk, only to be given an appology and being asked to come tomorrow. I am really outraged at this policy. This store gets too much undeserved credit. Pros: none found Cons: horrible store policy more

This store gets too much undeserved credit. All the other stores I shope at are much more advanced in terms of customer service. Another negative note is most of the stuff they sell appears as it was used already. I felt like I was shopping at a thrift shop. I don't see any reason for myself to return to this store. Testing Facebook connect but love to shop here when I visit NY! Great products and good deals =) The only issue I do have with this is that the details must be between 100-200 characters. Pros: Great clothing Cons: Hard to find products more

Not what I expected 11/26/2008

This department store is basically comprised of designer cast-offs- it's over-rated and over-priced. The selection was dull. I'm not sure what people see in this store. After wasting about three hours here, I came out with two pieces I didn't really like but bought anyways so it wasn't a complete failure going there. I'm sure if you went there often enough you would find some hidden treasures, but considering the messy store was and the low-quality clothes I purchased, I don't see my return happening. Cons: Selection, quality, messiness more

Best prices / great quality 11/13/2008

I went to century 21 for the 1st time here last month. I am extremely picky about the clothes that I wear, but this place is amazing. There is so much to look at and so many different designers, that is extremely difficult to stop buying. Well work just a trip to see it, let me know if you walk out with nothing, I tried, didn't happen. Winter is coming and I will be there again in January!! more
