NYC staple 1/27/2003

Must see for shopaholics visiting NYC. Very crowded and no service to speak of but great selection at unbelievable prices. It's crowded all day long pretty much everyday. Lots of trendy names (Juicy Couture, Seven, Vivienne Tam, Betsey johnson, etc...) as well as couture (gucci, Emilio pucci, Cavalli, etc...) at very low prices. You'll have to look through every rack to find the right size and items in good condition but if you love to shop anyway, this place is a lot of fun and about the only place you can find runway fashions for $150 to $400. Pros: Selection, Low Prices Cons: Crowded, Long Lines more

shopper 1/18/2003

I usually go to Century 21 for 4 things; Underwears, shoes, home products and accessories including their good selection of handbags. Their prices are decent and if you are looking for a gift for man, check out the tie/dress shirts section on first floor. I just bought a Gucci tie for $50 which would normally cost $125 at Saks. But if you are not into shopping, or don't have time for it, don't bother. Pros: Good prices, one stop shopping, luxery goods Cons: service, crowded, dressing room more

A Bargain is WAITING for you! 12/17/2002

What would New York be without our beloved Century 21? Where else can you get $245.00 alligator, Ralph Lauren Shoes for $80.00? Where else can you find designer dresses and suits at a FRACTION of the retail price? But, alas, where else do you have to wade thru the massive crowds and stand on long lines for teeny-tiny, poorly lit dressing rooms? Ah yes, that you would Century 21. Bring bottled water, a snack and your patience (You're gonna need it) and make it a FULL day of shopping here. Pros: Bargains, Designer Labels, Shoes Cons: Crowded, Busy, Clueless Sales Help more

Rock bottom prices! 8/28/2002

At last, designer lingery at bargain basement prices. I simply could not believe the selection of styles and sizes. Found a La Perla bra that originally retailed at 135.00 for 9.99, and in my size! Customer service is a little spotty, but never rude. Forget the shiny upscale shops, I'll stop here first every time. Pros: Great prices!, Great selection! Cons: Very crowded, Stock often jumbled more

it's my heroin! 8/24/2002

..A store you have to frequent often to catch a STEAL! Go on off hours to avoid waits and crowds. Merchandise is always updated - so don't despair! Go to your favorite boutique and then stop by Century 21 to get it cheaper and with no nagging salespeople! Warning: the staff is surly and the patrons are nasty -- good luck! Pros: great buys, lots to choose, can't beat it Cons: crowded, too many tourists, disorganized more

Throw Elbows, Find Bargains 5/20/2002

Like B&H Photo, the City Bakery, and countless other New York institutions, Century 21 best serves those who aren't afraid to muscle their way through a crowd. This well-stocked downtown store, which has reopened after months of post 9/11 shutter, is a favorite of mine for trousers and dress shirts. The bargains, especially on the latter, are hard to beat. It's not unusual to find great Italian dress shirts for less than $30. more
