Good bargains! 7/24/2005

I came here and ended up with 5 polo shirts, 3 pairs of shoes, 7 blazers, and 2 skirts! Its way downtown, literally right across the street from the World Trade center sight. I came on a Saturday and didnt find it all that packed, despite what other reviews say. Everything was a bargain, I got alll my stuff for under $200 total! THey had a good selection, but the location was sort of out of the way. Pros: selection, prices Cons: far far downtown, hard to find stuff more

Bargains galore 2/25/2005

Be prepared to spend a few hours digging your way through the selections but your patience will be rewarded as you find the bargains! I imagine this place can be hit or miss at times so it's probably worthwhile to become a frequent broswer. The actual displays seemed a bit overwhelming and the clothes hadn't been folded or placed back in the proper place after a day of too many shoppers but that all seemed to be part of the madness associated with trying to find a designer dresss at a 300% discount. more

Okay, seriously, what's not to love about Century? It's one stop shopping at its best. The housewares section is fabulous, the purses are wonderful, and the perfume collection is a bit small, but you can still find standards like Clinique and Lancome. I love Century. Basically everything in my home comes from that store and I go back again and again. I'm never disappointed when I got. I've gotten some of my cutest shirts, my absolute best housewares, and my cutest purses from Century. If you life it shop, you will adore Century. Pros: inexpensive, great selection, great housewares Cons: , young sales staff more

I must say I loved the shoe Department better when they were in the main building because it was easlier to find the sales and bargains. Now they have everything spread out and it can be quite a challenge looking for what you want. Find Discounts for What You Don't Need 10/16/2003

This is a great place to find designer labels at discounted prices, especially for items that you don't need. Yes, it's a great place to bargain hunt if you have the patience to squeez your way through the crowds and wait in line. Of course, after all that stress, you'll end up with bags and bags of goodies that you probably don't even need to begin with. I've gone to Century 21 on what I would consider ""off peak"" hours only to find that there doesn't seem to be such a thing here. That said, it's a lot of fun to shop here if crowds don't bother you. What can I say, it's good...just don't go on a Saturday, it was packed! managed to pick up some bargain jeans though ($100) that cost a lot more over here in London..... and if you're looking for undies try here first as they are alot cheaper than anywhere else. That is if you can get past the annoying staff, that insist on pusing you out of the way, as they try to stack shelves. Good time to do it...On a Saturday afternoon! Came here on a Saturday expecting an out-of-control zoo. It wasn't that bad. This is basically a department store with Daffy's, TJMaxx, Marshall's or Filene's Basement prices. The main difference is that you can find some high end stuff at great discounts. For the basics like socks and whatnot, this place is certainly dependable. Otherwise, much of the stuff is lower quality (like at the aforementioned stores). For housewares, you'd get better quality at same prices by using a coupon at Bed, Bath & Beyond. Was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to wait forever to get to a cash register, but the surly and uninformed store workers are just what you'd expect at a discount store. more

NYC staple 1/27/2003

Must see for shopaholics visiting NYC. Very crowded and no service to speak of but great selection at unbelievable prices. It's crowded all day long pretty much everyday. Lots of trendy names (Juicy Couture, Seven, Vivienne Tam, Betsey johnson, etc...) as well as couture (gucci, Emilio pucci, Cavalli, etc...) at very low prices. You'll have to look through every rack to find the right size and items in good condition but if you love to shop anyway, this place is a lot of fun and about the only place you can find runway fashions for $150 to $400.
