\r Very bad experience for my dogs. Had to board them for 4 weeks due to a flooded home. I visited my dogs for the forst 2 weeks, and noticed they were losing weight. I asked them to feed my lab puppy and 11 year old terrier more. I was called out of town for a work project thats when the trouble started. I called to check on my dogs and was told they were fine. I was also told that my lab puppy was injured on his nose and that he was now very ""dog aggressive"" not his sweet lab puppy nature at all. I picked up my dogs today and my 60 pound lab puppy lost 20 pounds during his stay at barkington inn and looks like he has been starved, so does my ELEVEN year old terrier. My puppy was so hungry he grabbed bones from the Barkington inn lobby display. I was beyond apalled and crushed that my dogs had been treated so badly. My dogs are not the same at all, my lab puppy shys away from my hand like he has been hit, something he never did before, I never hit my dogs I use a spray bottle of water and vinegar to discipline. I am worried that he may have lasting damage due to malnourishment. My dogs were so hungry they ate for 20 mins and ate several bowls of kibble, boiled rice, eggs and broth. They were literally STARVING! The manager was rude and told me it was my fault that they fed the amounts I told them to feed. This is impossible, because they have lost so much weight. They had the wrong weights down for my dogs and were feeding my 60 pound dog less than he needed and when I brought this to the attention of staff they said he looks fine. His ribs are showing and his hip bones are so pronounced he looks like a starving street dog! He is lethargic, has a bloody face, and is so scared he is not the same dog. My 11 year old terrier is so thin, I have never seen her look like this before. Both dogs stunk like a sewer and had feces in between their toes, very dirty. Needless to say I would never leave my dogs at barkington inn again and would never recommend that any one leave a pet at this place. I asked for a call back from the CEO today and the manager said it was not customary to disturb him on the weekend, very uncaring. The manager raised her voice to me several times and as the other reviews indicate the rudness is beyond belief. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PETS AT BARKINGTON INN EVER! I have pictures and video of the dogs and the condition in which they left barkington inn ... NEVER, NEVER, NEVER leave your dogs in this dog hell.
