Sunday night I was driving up to school with a friend of mine. At 11:30 in the evening my car broke down on a side road off of 91 just outside the Mass border. We called up triple A and they sent somebody out in a tow truck to pick the car up. We wound up getting back to school at 1:00 AM. The tow truck company also has a mechanic shop there which called me on Monday around lunch time. They said that it would cost at MOST $650 to fix the car because it needed a tune up. They called up later in the day, and then a few times a day each day after that stating that they saw other things that needed work, and this and that. Bill wound up being $1447.18 They tried to get me for new brakes yesterday, which was interesting because I just had them done about a month ago. I went down today to pick the car up because they said it was done. I paid for the car, and took the key from them. I got the car out of their parking lot and the brakes started locking up (I almost went off the road trying to get onto 91 because the brakes locked up) I went up 91 North and when I got around Springfield (exit 10) the car just up and died on me. I called the mechanic shop and they said that they would send somebody out for my car. They never did. State troopers showed up and told me to get my car out of there as it was pulled all the way to the left side of the road. I had been in the fast lane when the car died. The trooper's guy came by with a tow truck and charged me $120 to tow the car out to Enfield CT where the mechanic shop was. The mechanic shop refused to pay for the tow bill. They took a look at the car again, after already having had it for 4 days and said that it was a wire problem and would be another $150 to fix. This wire problem was some frayed wires that were staring them right in the faces. So a fix that should have been $150, they are charging us almost $2000 for. Pros: Nothing at all. Cons: They're not to be trusted.
