Call the US Post office in Enfield who goes to Porcello for truck servicing and them them how crooked they are. They damaged the car window in 2008 plus after a year, the car engine busted and we think they added sugar in the tank when we argued with them about the bill. Our story is below. After reading about all of your stories, I called the US post office and told them to read all the bad reviews out there. I can't believe they are still in business and I can't believe they are still working for the Post office even tho I complained to them about Porcello back in 2006. more

This is by far the WORST experience I have had with mechanics. I read the previous bad reviews and the UNSATISFACTORY rating by the Better Business Bureau. However, I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt hoping my experience was different, IT WAS NOT. They assessed my car and quoted prices for the parts upcharging MORE THAN THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP. When I asked about the discrepancy in prices, I was told that ""this was a business for profit"" and he had the right to do so. more

Stay away from this scam artist! 7/23/2006

On Thursday, July 20, 2006, I took my car to Porcello's, Inc/Gulf Gas station on 710 Enfield Street in Enfield, CT 06082, ph#: (860) 745-7676 to have my A/C problem diagnosed for $34, the price quoted to me by the owner, Matt Porcello. Before I left the repair shop, I told Matt to call us and let us know if he finds anything. Since I hadn't heard from them all day, I called three times to inquire about the status and their only reply was ""the mechanic's working on it"". At the end of the work day around 5 pm, I called again only to find out from Matt that I owe $267 for services that were done without an oral or written consent from me. Matt was given my cell and home numbers and never called for an approval to recharge the A/C for $110 plus computer/scanner work on the Check Engine Light, which is unrelated to the A/C, for about $80, and the rest is the diagnostic fee. How can a bill that's supposed to be $34 turn into a whopping $267 and with NOTHING fixed? Needless to say, I told him to stop working on my car. When I asked Matt why he didn't call to tell me about these ""services"" before he did them, he said he was too busy. On Monday, July 24 at 8 am, I picked up the car after coming back from a weekend trip. Instead of disputing the charge b/c I didn't get anywhere with Matt a couple of days ago, I let the service manager, Andy, know I wanted to pick up my car and asked for the bill. The repair order now showed $150 instead of $267, probably in futile hopes that I will change my mind and let them ""finish"" the job. After 5 minutes on the phone with Matt, he came back and said we could take the car without charge - no bill, no repair order, nothing for evidence. And they sabotaged my car!!When the car was brought in, the window was working and now, while it was in their hands, it is not. Don't trust them - you'll be glad to stay away and tell all your friends!! Pros: Nothing. Cons: They're all cheats! more

Boy I'm p-i-s-sed! 7/23/2006

Sunday night I was driving up to school with a friend of mine. At 11:30 in the evening my car broke down on a side road off of 91 just outside the Mass border. We called up triple A and they sent somebody out in a tow truck to pick the car up. We wound up getting back to school at 1:00 AM. The tow truck company also has a mechanic shop there which called me on Monday around lunch time. They said that it would cost at MOST $650 to fix the car because it needed a tune up. They called up later in the day, and then a few times a day each day after that stating that they saw other things that needed work, and this and that. Bill wound up being $1447.18 They tried to get me for new brakes yesterday, which was interesting because I just had them done about a month ago. I went down today to pick the car up because they said it was done. I paid for the car, and took the key from them. I got the car out of their parking lot and the brakes started locking up (I almost went off the road trying to get onto 91 because the brakes locked up) I went up 91 North and when I got around Springfield (exit 10) the car just up and died on me. I called the mechanic shop and they said that they would send somebody out for my car. They never did. State troopers showed up and told me to get my car out of there as it was pulled all the way to the left side of the road. I had been in the fast lane when the car died. The trooper's guy came by with a tow truck and charged me $120 to tow the car out to Enfield CT where the mechanic shop was. The mechanic shop refused to pay for the tow bill. They took a look at the car again, after already having had it for 4 days and said that it was a wire problem and would be another $150 to fix. This wire problem was some frayed wires that were staring them right in the faces. So a fix that should have been $150, they are charging us almost $2000 for. Pros: Nothing at all. Cons: They're not to be trusted. more
