After swearing off meat, one of the things I missed the most was Chinese food, especially the chicken dishes. Then ShangHai opened in a new shopping development close to my house and my dream of eating delicious Chinese and Vietnamese food again came true! They offer two menus, one vegetarian and the other featuring standard meat dishes.
I have not dined in yet, but I have had take-out twice and both times my experience was wonderful. The restaurant is beautifully and tastefully decorated, impeccably clean, and the employees/owners are extremely polite and friendly.
The food, ahh, the food. On my most recent visit I had the Vegetarian Szechwan Chicken. A most tasty combination of veggie chicken pieces sautéed with green peppers, onions, bamboo, etc., in a spicy sweet and sour brown sauce. It is truly delicious, and my only complaint is that it isn't nearly spicy enough. It of course comes with steamed white rice, but sadly, no fortune cookie.
Overall a great place to eat, and I will return often!
