Associated with Kaiser medical, this is a very poorly run facility, My father in law was transfered to this facility by Kaiser following an auto accident. The staff appears to be well meaning, and the Social Workers appear to really care. However, the Case Managers are bunglers, often contacting us with questions that show they have not bothered to read any of the patients charts, often asking questions we'd answered multiple times before and often failing to write down accurate information. They don't show up to scheduled meetings. These are the people who are really in charge of the patients! The nursing staff seems blase' and lack compassion for either the patients or the families. I've been in and around hospitals and facilities like CCofR before and can tell you this: if you have any choice, don't let your loved one or family member end of there.\r
To top things off, after only 10 days in the facility, the Case Manager decided my father-in-law was ""not making progress"" and he would be discharged in 72 hours. This for an 87-year old, fullly insured man, with a shattered pelvis and broken hip. He can't walk or put any weight on one leg. Therapy was poorly administered and it appears to my wife and I that they overmedicated him to keep him ""calm"". As a result, the man is not at home mentally and we have been forced to assume all decision making for him.
