I only agreed to use Keystone Closing Service because my real Estate agent recommended them. Little did I know then that my agent recommended them because she had to. Yes, Coldwell Banker Real Estate Agents are REQUIRED by their office broker to pressure customers into using their ""affiliated"" settlement company. From what I understand the office brokers (and perhaps the real estate agent) get kickbacks from Keystone for making referrals. Isn't that illegal? What a racket! \r

Anyway, the closing was a disaster. I was overcharged ($200.00) for a ""Settlement Fee"" and did NOT get a ""Reissue Rate"" discount I was entitled to (and promised) on the title insurance. Furthermore, my closing was delayed twice because of some ""title issue"" that was not resolved in a timely manor. \r

My suggestion to home-buyers is: do your homework. Just because your real estate agent is ""nice and friendly"" doesn?t mean that they have your (the customer's) best interest in mind. In fact, real estate agents only have one thing in mind: the huge commission they will reap on your purchase. Shop around and get all figures in writing. \r
