Portions of unusual proportions 9/22/2008

When my wife and I lived in Bellingham Washington, we would make the one and a half hour trek to Mt. Vernon to eat at the Valley Cafe at least twice a month. The gigantic plates, heaped with delicious food, earned it the nickname of ""Big Food Diner"". Pretty much everything on the walls is for sale, the bathrooms are small, it can be very loud at times, and the place looks a little run down... But don't be put off by any of these things, for they do not detract from the absolutely wonderful food. Pros: Low cuisine served in huge amounts that will please the palate and satisfy the gutworm. Cons: The daily hours of operation are short, gravel parking lot. more
