My Girlfriend of two and a half years went to Larco's for Valentines Day about two years ago. I remember a great surf and turf. I mean gooood! One of the best in Detroit. The waiter was always their to get a drink or a new fork. And the drinks were stiff just the way I like them. I'm actually going there tonight to celebrate Valentines day with my girlfriend again. Easily our favorite italian restaurant in Detroit. I feel bad for the Miserable B-day but it sounds like you went to a totally different restaurant. After tonight I'll write again and tell you if it was just as good as I remember.
