misleading service 2/1/2009

For those of you looking for computer help, beware of the Hermitage location. I recently came in for a diagnostic check and PC clean because my PC was a bit dusty. Guy by the name of Mike told me my HDs were failing per their diagnostic check with bad sectors detected and immediately suggested I replace my HD and do a clean XP install through them which would cost over 150 bucks. After being intimidated by insignificant analogies on why its better to go that route. I took my PC back and paid the bench fee and did my own testing to make sure he was telling the truth. After running tests of my own, I found ABSOLUTELY no bad sectors at all. Mike also told me that it is not possible nor is it a good idea to put another hard drive with XP on it because it will mess up the computer setup. He was WRONG as well. There are tutorials online where you can transfer a HD with XP on it to a new rig. Telling customers false issues with their PC is shady business practice and I would NEVER do any business with that store again. I suggest people do the same. Thank you. more
