Zips has saved me SO much money on my dry cleaning bills. Spending $5-7 per garment just isn't an option when you don't have much cash in your paychecks. Zips does a great job...

This Dry Cleaners Sucks Big Time! 10/29/2009

This dry cleaners used to be great back in the day when the cost was $1.25 per garment. I loved it. The cost and the service. But now that has all changed and your lucky if you can get your clothers back cleaned with a slight press. Although I've had problems with this dry cleaners and their cleaning methods in the past I've just recently decided to try them again due to my large cleaning bills and the economy. My recent complaints with them has included: missing buttons from garments, stains they've added to garments, not completely removing simple dirt stains from around cuffs and collars of garments, a lot of wrinkles in garments, and the arrogant and don't care attitude of the management team when you report a problem with their cleaning methods. If they are going to raise the cost for cleaning then they could at least raise the standards and professionalism along with it. If you want another 1.99 dry cleaners try the one a few blocks down from this one. I'm sure they couldn't be any worse. It will probably save you a lot of time, money and disappointment in the future. Plus if this clearners sees that the're losing business maybe they'll try to do better service. I feel the integrity level for this cleaners has gone to pot. Either they are hiring very unskilled workers or they just don't give a damn about the customers anymore and think that you will tolerate anything in this fallen economy. It seems as if its more about the all mighty dollar these days which unfortunately supports the greed theory of quantity over quality. more

Deny Damaging My Pants 2/14/2006

Back on 1/5/06, I picked up a pair of pants from Zips in Falls Church that had many light-brown stains. The stains were not there when I dropped off the pants. In addition, there was no tag on the hanger that said "couldn't get out the stains" when I picked up the pants. Only upon inspection in the store did I notice the stains. After pointing this out, they offered to try and remove the stains. To veryify that this was Zips fault, I even had the staff member I was working with write on my receipt that the pants were damaged during cleaning so there was proof in the future. Three attempts later and some of the stains are still there. The Zips manager, Vivian, is now telling me that it wasn't Zips fault and will try no further to fix the pants. She said the employee was not authorized to determine how the pants became stained so she ignored his signed statement. I really liked Zips until I hit this brick wall of denial. more

Zips saves me a ton of coin 12/31/2005

I love Zips because everything I get cleaned here costs $1.79. I usually only get men’s dress shirts laundered and I’ve been extremely satisfied. I’ve never had any problems with them since I’ve been patronizing this store. Everything comes back clean in a very timely fashion. This place specializes in high volume so if you are looking for a place that focuses on customer service then this might not be the best place for you. more

waste of money 11/14/2005

Agh, just got my dry cleaning back from Zips, and I must say I'm dissapointed. Although their staff is much friendlier than most of the other discount dry cleaners in the area, one of my main beefs with Zips is that my shirts always come back wrinked. I hate ironing, so one of the main reasons I use a dry cleaners is so I don't have to waste a day ironing. Now I have to re-iron all of my shirts. This has happened on several occassions at Zips. The place across from White Flint, although further from me, seems to do a better job. more

cheap 8/12/2005

Advertised as nothing above $1.79, Zips is a great place to drop off dry cleaning for a cheap price. In saying this, you do get what you pay for. While items don't seem to get lost, clothes aren't always nicely pressed - this is only really a problem for collared shirts, as sweaters and woven clothes are usually laundered. By the way, the $1.79 doesn't really apply to everything, but you'll have to check at the store to see what the stipulation is. The place is set up like a big factory, so it's all about volume, which is why the prices are low. Think of it as a Walmart for dry cleaning - cheap prices, medium quality. They will also do alterations that's probably cheaper than most places. However, I did encounter a problem where they actually did not hem my pants correctly, and I had to go back and get it fixed. The customer service isn't that great, but what can you expect for minimum wage workers? Overall, if you have a car, this is probably the best deal around. more
