For a day of pampering yourself, head to Piaf. Be sure to schedule an appointment because walk-ins are unlikely to find some time in their packed schedule. It’s busy because it’s the best. Their specialists are professional and friendly. They know just how you like to be spoiled. Again, though, you will have to accept being turned away without an appointment. Also, it’s pretty expensive, making it good for special occasions and not for your everyday needs.

For pampering, check out The Oriental Oasis (1 Thomas Circle, NW). I *love* this place and have been mani'd, pedi'd waxed, plucked, rubbed and buffed there for nearly 15 years. Not only is the spa peaceful and really pretty, but the staff has been consistent for years. They take groups, have spa packages and, in a pinch, will even take a walk-in appointment...cheerfully! They've recently added two hours validated parking at the garage next door too.

Just moving to the area my first order of business after getting settled in was to find a good spot for my regular manicure and pedicures. Did a local search and there you were "judysbook reviews". I followed up on a few review of www.joysnails.com and to my delight the place was everything I'd hoped for. The atmosphere reminded me a bit of Hawaii and that was a nice start to a very good experience. The conversation was as plesant as the signature mani/pedi I got. When they advertise "Family owned and operated, they were'nt kidding, while I was there the grandson stopped by with his mommy for a visit with Joy! I've fallin in love with this place already. I went to visit my nephew, and she wanted to go to Cornrows and Co. to get her hair done. I had never been there, and neither had she, but this seemed like a good bonding experience. Overall, this place isn't very appealing to the eye, due to its rather sketchy location. The prices were average, and my newphew turned out pleased with the results. So, I would recommend visiting this place if you are in the area.

They have a very nice selection of aromatherapy oils. I love their hair care products. I'm so glad they have opened a shop at the MCI Center area. I plan to shop there soon. The Georgetown staff is friendly and helpful. The staff greets you with a cup of tea which is very comforting on a cold day out shopping.

This was my first time going to a day spa and it was wonderful. The staff is extremely pleasant and you're treated as though everyone knows you. The spa itself is not that big, but the ambience makes up for it. I highly recommend Skin Savvy Spa. Everyone is professional and you leave feeling refreshed and renewed. Not to mention that the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend a trip to Skin Savvy. You can't help but to fall in love with it!

I have had both a facial and massage at Lillian Lawrence. The facial was very relaxing and my face was glowing and radiant. The service provider was a bit pushy about buying products and made some comments about my skin. But she gave me an excellant face massage and took her time with the facial. Massages are a treat at Lillian Lawrence - first you go in a hot shower to lossen up the muscles and then you get a wonderful deep massage.

Capitol City Club and Spa borders the Capitol Hilton Hotel and is a frequent respite for weary travelers who need a relaxing massage or a workout before they head off to meetings. They have a great looking gym with a line of treadmills that face K street through a first floor ground window which can make for some fun people watching during your workout, though the people outside can also look in at you!
