If you are a professional or a novice this is the best place because of the amazing selection and knowledge of their employees. This store doesn’t only sell bikes, if you are need any accessories they are fully loaded.

This zoo is HUGE, but it's also free so you can not feel at all guilty taking it in one bit at a time. If you're visiting DC and will only have one day to see the entire zoo, be prepared for a looong day.
The zoo is pretty convenient to the metro, but be prepared to climb 4-5 blocks up a pretty steep hill to get to the entrance. There's a nice visitor information center/ gift shop at the entrance. The park is well marked, so it's easy to find your favorite animals. There are a couple of food facilities, but when I went on a weekday in May most of them were closed. The food is standard zoo fare, and pretty expensive. I saw many people eating their own food at the picnic tables, so if you can carry it in I recommend that.

This is a one of a kind museum, with a lot of information on espionage. The tickets are slight expensive. Of course, they do provide a lot of information and visuals. They can have more sit-down visuals, rather then standing up and reading displays. Its a lot of information for one day.
I recommend this place, but come early and wear good, supportive shoes.
Customers aren't allowed to take pictures inside. Ofcourse, there is vent inside the museum, which customers are allowed in, and if you can't resist, you can take a picture there.

I’m a big fan of Hudson Trail Outfitters (HTO) because of their wide selection and reasonable prices. This store specialized in gear and supplies for outdoor activities. I’m an outdoor enthusiast so I frequent this store often to purchase items for my biking and kayaking needs. It is amazing the amount of products they have. The only negative is sometimes it is hard to find a store representative if you have a question, but they always have an answer it is sometimes difficult to track one down.

I used to love this place; I even had a birthday party there a few years ago. Now, after all the changes, I love it even more. The setup is perfect, providing plenty of lounging and mingling areas without sacrificing the pool-playing space. The service is really good, though you might end up waiting a bit at your table; it's understandable considering the amount of space the servers need to cover. The food is your typical bar food, which works perfectly for this place. Besides pool, there are outdoor areas, two bars, darts, and tons of tv with all the necessary sports packages. Great place for a group or just for a fun date!

Fleet Feet is the best athletic shoe store in the world. It was opened over 20 years ago by Phil and Jan Fenty who are both serious athlete in their own right. If you're bought your sneakers from the Foot Locker in the past and the fit wasn't quite right, come to Fleet Feet and they will put you into the shoe you need. They know feet and they know sports. They will look at your walk and ask you questions about the activities you do to find exactly the right shoe for you. And they are never wrong in my case and many of my friends who have come here and nowhere else.

More
This is probably one of the best of the Smithsonians (though they're all good). This museum is really large with so many cool and lifesize displays of ancient and extinct animals from different eras. There's insects, modern animals, an aquatic section - all with animal displays. Aside from that, there's a large display of minerals and fossils, with the most notable being the Hope Diamond - the largest blue diamond found.
This museum is located right on the National Mall and is very close to many of the other Smithsonians. It's also close to many of the memorials, so it's a great place to stop and take a look around. Be warned though, because it's got lots of displays and things you can touch, there's lots of kids and families running around.

More
Many of the great works in this still-intimate museum, despite a major expansion, were lovingly and sometimes shrewdly acquired by the institution's founder, Duncan Phillips, who is credited with introducing modern art to America. This is an especially good time to visit the Phillips because 60 of its masterworks, including Renoir's "Luncheon of the Boating Party," have been reinstalled after a four-year tour to museums elsewhere in the U.S. and abroad. Coinciding with the reinstallation, is the reopening of the relocated Rothko Room in the Phillips' Sant Building. Mark Rothko's four large color field paintings are positioned exactly as they were in the former, identically sized space -- "to overwhhelm the walls, saturating the room with color and sensation," according to the museum.

Bicycle Pro Shop in Georgetown is a great bike repair shop in DC. I’ve taken my wife’s bike here before and they fixed her bike very quickly, at a very reasonable price. This is one of the few bike repair shops in the area. I would highly recommend going here for bike problems

More
The National Cathedral is one of Washington's most beautiful and famous non-political locations, and this reputation is well deserved. The Cathedral itself is an imposing gothic building, fantastically tall- that is visible from miles away in certain parts. The gardens are equally impressive and beautiful. This is one great place to take pictures at. Go and visit, even though the assistants are sometimes a little harsh.
