The most relaxing experience you can imagine 11/20/2008

I chose Zen Blend after finding it on Citysearch. It was nearby and I was intrigued by the flotation tank. My fiance and I went in for the Relaxation Day for 2. It is really affordable for all the extras they provide. Kristi is very down-to-earth, very knowledgeable, and she has the gift of healing. My back was a mess and and she found all my tender spots and worked on them one at a time. The hot stones feel divine. The flotation tank seems intense at first but it is so peaceful inside. One hour in there felt like fifteen minutes. they provide everything you will need. Definitely do not shave any part of your body beforehand or it will sting like crazy. I had a small cut on my arm that I neglected to coat with the (un)vaseline they provided and it was really distracting for a while until the pain from the salt subsided. I had the massage first and then went in so I really think that helped my recently worked muscles heal whereas my fiance felt that having the float first made his muscles fully loose and relaxed to get maximum benefits from the massage. So I'm sure there are benefits to doing it in either order. Try it and you'll be back for more. I have recommended ZenBlend to all my friends. Amazing Massage 11/12/2008

I was looking for a new massage therapist online and ran across the citysearch reviews. I am so glad I called - this was by far the most relaxing massage I've ever had. Kristi really makes you feel comfortable and the atmosphere and location are great. I would go every week if I could, but will definitely go every month. I recommend the 1 1/2 hour massage - the aromatherapy, hot towels and hot stone massage were divine. The hot tea, chocolate and conversation helped bring me back to consciousness! Great place to escape and Zen out! 10/28/2008

I am a yoga teacher and I need a massage every couple of weeks. I was looking for someone that I could hand myself to and "let go". When I arrived at Zen Blend, I was impressed with the energy inside. I could feel myself beginning to relax and feel good already. I was there with two other friends and we where scheduled to float, get a massage and hang out in the Zen garden. I started off with the Zen garden, I drank some wonderful mint tea and dark chocolate. I lounge in the hammock and watched the birds and the clear blue sky. I am really glad I got to do my own thing before the massage and float. It gave me some time with myself and I was so relaxed, which aloud me to fully embrace my experience with a clear mind. Then it was my turn to have a hot stone massage. Yummy, that was one of the best massages I have ever received. Kristi has a sweet, powerful and loving nature. I truly felt the love she has for giving to others. After my massage, I was off to float. I was not sure what to expect but was open to try it out. The floatation vessel is quite large and after you have been floating for a while you feel that it is expanding even larger inside. I really loved the under water speakers! The only thing I would wish for is that the water was a little warmer in the floatation tank, although I felt fine, I just prefer to be in much warmer water. If you are looking to get away but can not go too far, take a day to visit Zen Blend. You will feel revitalized and renewed and ready to go back into world. more

a very high end massage with great amenities 10/27/2008

I was really impressed by the skill of my masseuse, she found my major tension spots and worked them out quicker than any masseuse I've ever had before, and I've had countless massages in the past. The environment and the massage both felt very high end but warm and personal at the same time. Prior to leaving I was offered hot tea and a soaking bag full of Himalayan crystal salt to help me further detoxify during my next bath... details like this really made Zen Blend charming. I highly recommend Zen Blend for anyone looking to relax, detox, and for a truly helpful and healthful massage. more

Hands down--the most amazing massage experience ever. 10/27/2008

I 'ran in to' this place here on citysearch, and was immediately intrigued by the float tank. The session I booked was for the 2 for 200 special, for my best friend's 21st birthday. In short, the place was amazing. I was prepared for a small operation, but what we found exceeded my expectation. Like another reviewer said, we felt like we'd been invited over for massages and floats. We showed up at the house, and immediately felt at home. Kristi made both of us more comfortable than we've ever been in any spa. She was friendly, accomodating, and amazingly talented with her hands! I started with the massage, and ended with the float tank. The utter silence you can experience in the tank was exactly what I'd needed, and both my best friend and I can't wait to make it back to visit again. I don't think I've ever been quite this immediately impressed with any place I've found off citysearch, and, already, I've recommended Zen Blend to tons of people. I was incredibly impressed that Kristi's business offers an amazing service (though I think experience is a much better word) at a reasonable price. Thanks, Kristi! There is nothing like a visit to Zen Blend. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is perfect, the mood is friendly and relaxing, the massage is exceptional. So exceptional that my friends and drive 200 miles just to relax with Kristi. I have traveled a lot and often for less payoff than I get at Zen Blend. It has my highest mark of approval. Exceeded my expectations !!! 10/6/2008

I had very high expectations about Zen Blend after reading all the great reviews and I'm VERY HAPPY to say I wasn't disappointed. Kristi is a truly gifted massage therapist (don't even get me started on how great the Hot Stone Treatment was) and the atmosphere was perfect for relaxation. The moment I walked in the door, I knew I was in for something special. Kristi and Zen Blend get my highest recommendation. Do yourself a favor and call them! A single-masseuse operation in an out-of-the way neighborhood. The isolation tank FLOAT and the HOT STONE massage combination was EXCELLENT. An oasis in the city 9/23/2008

My husband and I drive up from San Antonio to experience the relaxing and professional environment of Zen Blend. The massage and float combination seemingly takes away all of the tension and is incredibly relaxing. I believe that the world would be a much better place if everyone did a float session once a day! I cannot recommend this experience highly enough! more

Most relaxing massage 9/22/2008

This spa is amazing! From the second you walk into the room, you are automatically relaxed. The atomsphere is incredibly soothing: great lighting, music, smells. Kristen is a very understanding practitioner and is easy to talk to when giving feedback. She wants to make things enjoyable and beneficial to you! To top it all off, at the end of the massage, you get hot tea & chocolate! What could be better?!?! Pros: Ambience!! Cons: I wish I could go every day! more

Truly a relaxing day! 9/22/2008

I have visited Zen Blend several times and each time my experience wonderful. The massage with Hot Stone Treatment is second to none. I don't think a visit to Zen Blend is complete without the experience of the float tank. Before a massage it puts you in a most relaxed placed to really enjoy the magical hands Kristi. After a massage it seems to take you to someplace other worldly, at least in my experience. Zen Blend, professional, inviting, calming and of course relaxing. The Relaxation day for two is a great way to spend an afternoon with someone you care about but there is nothing wrong with indulging yourself every once in a while too! more

Best massage in Texas. 9/17/2008

I am an avid massage seeker. I have had student massages, myofascial massages, hot stone massages, 4 hands massages on a pent-house rooftop in Manhattan.... I know massages and I must say that the best massage I have ever experienced was at Zen Blend. As if that wasn't enough, Kristi & Brian scheduled me at the very last minute on their day off to accommodate my birthday wishes. The float tank was an incredible experience also. It was perfect for centering and balancing idle mind-chatter. I have to say that I love Zen Blend and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in treating themselves to a day of bliss. A couples experience to beat any spa! 9/17/2008

My girlfriend and I drove down from Dallas on the recommendation of a friend of ours. I have massages on a regular basis in DFW but have never experienced the HOT STONES before. Oh my God! This was the best and most relaxing massage of my life! Couple the massage with the float and you'll never want to leave. In fact, my first comment after the float was "how to I get to live here"! We were a little hesitant at first to be in someones home that we didn't know....but Kristi, and the Zen atmophere, immediately put us completely at ease. We WILL go back....and soon! A massage+a float= a great day 9/16/2008

This place is great! I had a wonderful afternoon with an hour massage followed by an hour in the flotation tank, and then after that I had tea and a conversation with the masseuse herself, who was very approachable and fun to talk with. I felt like she was a friend, someone that would be very interesting to get to know. The massage itself was one of the best I've had and the float was the icing on the cake. more
