Best

Zama has a wonderful accupuncturist, Katelyn Decker! I was involved in a car accident 5mos ago, and started accupuncutre approx 2mos ago in August, and I swear along with the mas...

Worst

I had heard really good things from others about Zama and when I found out they could bill for PIP (auto accident) I decided to check them out when my regular therapist was out of...

First rate massage 4/25/2009

The facility is very nice indeed: quiet, roomy, comfortable. I've been getting regular massages from Kat for almost 2 years now. She's knowledgeable, hard-working, and pleasant. Her background in both massage and natural medecine shows in her work. Pros: Great therapist, great facility Cons: none more

Magic"Lynn" 4/23/2009

Lynn B. at Zama saved me after a nasty cross crash a couple of years ago. Since, her deep tissue/sports massage has kept me whole and going forward. Her Thai treatments though make me weep with pleasure and pain-- I'm not a stretcher, but she somehow makes it happen and puts me back together again. Pros: In-tune, deep, aware, thoughtful, recovery, thai, stretching Cons: none more

Stretch your Senses 4/20/2009

Knowledgeable. Enjoyable. Relaxing Massage. Lynn is a tremendous person. Gives tips and benefits to build on. Pros: Great work. Cons: Zero. more

Elizabeth is fantastic! 4/15/2009

I was referred to Zama and Elizabeth Pond from my husband who is also a chiropractor (Noe Flores) because I have some issues from constantly being hard on my body, pregnancy, holding my heavy son and not stretching! Elizabeth helps me feel good in places where I need more work beyond my chiropractic care. Because I am a full-time working Mom I only have time for 30 minute massages. Elizabeth makes me feel great in that short amount of time. I highly recommend Zama and Elizabeth. It feels so good! Pros: professionalism, location, atmosphere. Cons: when I have to go home. more

Mmmmm...what a luscious massage! 4/11/2009

Jarrod knows anatomy with his heart, mind and hands. He finds the places that hurt and encourages them to relax and let go. He works deeply but never causes any discomfort. His tender, loving nature is conveyed through his hands, so his work is more than mere skill could ever be. The place is lovely and quiet. Each room has its own personality. When Jarrod was away I got massaged by Lynn and by Ambert, and they are great too. I imagine you could be happy with any of the practitioners at Zama. It's a jewel in NE Portland Pros: Jarrod, Lynn and Ambert, and I bet the rest are great too Cons: too bad a massage has to eventually end more

Lynn's pressure for sore muscles is the best! 4/10/2009

I am so grateful to have found Lynn Bukowski. Five or six days a week I do functional training at ImpactJJ, an MMA and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym in Beaverton. My muscles need a great sport's massage after that beating and Lynn sure delivers. Pros: Lynn's strength & knowledge Cons: None more

Experiences ALL Fabulous! 4/10/2009

I have been a client through Zama for a long time, and I have always had exceptional services. I have received deep tissue massages from Lisa (highly recommended!), Thai massage from Ambert (amazing) and nutritional consulting with Ingrid (very helpful for a variety of dietary needs). Their space is set up nicely, creating a relaxing environment right away. Set conveniently on Broadway, Zama is the first to get my business when it comes to massage. In addition, they have a great website so it's super convenient to make and track appointments. Five stars! Pros: professional therapists, great location, relaxing environment Cons: none! more

Autumn is great! 4/9/2009

I had a wonderful massage from Autumn a while ago. I am ready to book another appointment online now. She did a really good job of making sure she worked the places most therapists neglect. I love hand and foot work. The rest of the massage was exceptional as well. Her back work just about put me to sleep. Her neck work put me into a coma. I also like going into Zama because it is a classy place with cool art on the walls. The bathroom is clean and they had a warmer on the bed. Some of the other therapists were there when I was done, they all seemed very nice. All around great experience. If you can't get an appt with Autumn, I heard Jarrod is a good at Thai massage and Lynn does Ashiatsu. Pros: Strong hands, good technique. Cons: Only works one day a week. more

Feeling great after an Auto accident 4/1/2009

I was in a car accident in November. I was rear ended and had some pretty bad whip lash. I had been to Zama before so I came to see Elizabeth after my accident. She suggested a fantastic chiropractor for me and has been working with him to heal my neck and back pain. It's been two months and I'm feeling good as new! Elizabeth listens to what is bothering me and focuses the session that day on those areas. She always makes sure to follow up the next time I come in, and she always gives me stretches and suggests small things that I can change in my daily life to help my back feel better as well. I would highly recommend Elizabeth/ Zama. Pros: STRONG therapists, comfortable atmosphere Cons: none more

Where I go! 3/27/2009

I'm a chiropractor and I love going to Zama. I send my patients, and family there. I sent my wife there when she was pregnant and now that she has had the baby, she needs the therapeutic relief now more then ever. Did I mention the online scheduling? Just go to the website and find a time that works for you...super easy! Pros: Easy to schedule online! Cons: NONE more

Couples massage 3/26/2009

After buying our first home and moving, our bodies needed some pampering time. We found that Zama was the best place to help us unwind and relax. The staff were kind and non distracting. The place wasn't over patchoulied either. We will fit Zama into our new pampering budget every year. You won't be disappointed. Pros: Perfect place to relax with your partner Cons: Massive pic of Buddha upon entrance more

We all really need to get to Zama Massage 3/10/2009

Times are tough, but we had scheduled a couples massage into a busy day--and given the couple dozen massages I've had in my life when I've walked out and said, "That felt good, but I don't think it did much"--the Zama experience will change all that. I asked for deep tissue and got a deep, thorough working-over...and Jeff found troubled areas I haven't felt since college. I felt so great the following day...and the days that followed. Everyone is feeling the budget crunch, but I'm really going to work on getting Zama massages worked into the montly budget. This sets the bar of what a great massage should be. Down to earth, talented massage therapists with a sense of humor and great knowledge of anatomy--and a truly thorough and extraordinary massage. more

Amazing hands, great intuition 1/17/2009

I have been seeing Lisa for her amazing deep tissue massages. Her instincts are right on, and she finds areas that I didn't even know were sore! I always wait to get a massage until I am hunched over and falling apart, and I leave feeling absolutely wonderful, like I have a new body. I have been to many places before for "deep tissue massage", and left feeling the same discomfort as when I arrived. If you have been trying to find a massage therapist that has the actual skills to do deep tissue, go to Zama. more

Massage therapist refered to by Occupational M.D. 1/16/2009

I saw lynn a couple years ago and she was very good. She was refered by a doctor in occupational medicine. I have been back to see her recently after a lower back sprain. She has definetly made a difference in my recovery as well as helped me in other needed places on my body. I have been a trainer for 6 years in the portland area and have been to a few different massage therapist. I will however stay with lynn since she has made the most difference with my tightness and improved my flexibillity. Decent place in NE with a good ambiance. more

Best deep-tissue massage I've ever had! 1/4/2009

Lisa H. at Zama is incredibly strong but also sensitive and responsive to my body. I've had hundreds of massages and I believe I've now found what I've been looking for for years. The environment at Zama is quiet and comfortable and the price was reasonable. more

Mmmmmmmm...... 11/12/2008

I've been going to Zama for massage for over a year. I have had three different LMTs work on me and all have been wonderful: highly skilled, welcoming, attentive, and very professional. Also, I love the convenience of the online appointment system. Pros: lovely atmosphere, convenient location, easy to schedule appointments, skilled LMTs Cons: none more

Ambert is great! 10/25/2008

Ambert is the best massage therapist in town! I have had many massages over the years, and no one compares to Ambert. The whole experience at Zama is great! I recommend him to anyone. Pros: Clean, quiet atmosphere more

Amazing Massages 10/23/2008

I 've had at multiple massage therapists work on me in the North West. Lynn and Ambert at Zama Massage are by far the best I have experienced. I always feel like a new person when I when they are finished. For those people I encounter after a session, they are always so impressed with my accolades that I inevitably end up referring new people for treatments to Zama and all have been pleased to go back many times. more

Great experience! 10/11/2008

I had my first massage there a couple of weeks ago and it was glorious! The atmosphere was great and the therapist was kind and really knew what he was doing. I would definately go back. more

Highly skilled, warm, caring therapists 9/16/2008

I have had massages from several of the therapists at Zama and can honestly say that they are hands down the best in town. You can tell when someone has those 'healing hands' - where not only do you leave feeling more flexible and relaxed, but you feel like your overall energy is better as well. Their skill level and knowledge of body physiology is amazing - one of the therapists was able to tell at a glance that my back was out of alignment just by the way I was lying on the table! I've tried the Thai massage there too, which I'd recommend for anyone wanting more flexibility - it makes you feel like Gumby afterwards (in a good way). Pros: very relaxing environment, lots of street parking, warm & ch Cons: none more
