Awesome massage class 2/18/2008

My girlfriend and I took a couple's massage class at Zama and had a great time. The class was affordable and a solid intro to basic massage technique, including the best areas to get and the best techniques there (i.e. rubbing vs pressure), how to hold your hands and avoid straining your fingers, etc. It made for a great Valentines Day date! I can't speak for the massages there since I didn't get one, but Lynn and Jarrod both seem like they're passionate about it and know what they're doing. Pros: Ambience, price more

Best Massage In Portland! 2/12/2008

I was involved in a car accident in December of '07 and after seaching desperately for a therapist wase fortunate to find Laura Davies at Zama Massage. She is very good at deep tissue massage and has helped greatly with my recuperation. I have seen her for a month now, and have had a great experience every time I go. I look forward to each and every session. Laura has been absolutely fantastic. She is able to target my most stressed muscles, and works very diligently and carefully at releaving my pain. Laura is very sweet, highly knowledgeable and truly genuine. Zama is a place that I have and will continue to recommend. Thank you Laura. more

Well Established Professionalism and Experience 1/20/2008

I've been all over town receiving massages since I've moved to Portland 8 years ago. Zama is now my place of choice for continued therapy. I've had massages from Lynn, Ambert, and Katherine which all proved to be be excellent. They always make me feel at home and always seem to overachieve when I'm there. They definitely set the standard for the Northwest. Pros: Great Atmosphere, Best Location in Portland Cons: none more

Very Relaxing Experience In A Great Space 10/25/2007

I have been a customer of Zama since they opened and I love the place! I am a huge proponent of body work and I am a loyal customer of Lynn, even before she opened the new space. My body depends on the work in order to function properly and I always feel refreshed and relaxed when I leave. I have had even the Thai massage that is awesome. And they have a very clean facility with the ability to shower if you need or want one. For a wonderful experience and an excellent massage Zama Massage is the place. Truly Great Massage! 3/19/2007

I cannot say enough good things about Ambert Dunsmore. I have been his client for years. I have referred several friends (both men and women) to Ambert. THEY are also long-term clients of Ambert's. Ambert has a natural way of making his clients feel at ease. This is critical for an effective massage. Ambert is also highly experienced. He is able to draw on several massage therapy techniques in order to address each client's specific needs. The end result: you feel better for days after your massage. Pros: great price, great service Cons: none! more

I 've had at least ten different massage therapists work on me in Portland. None are better that Lynn at Zama Massage. She is very hard working , through and I always feel great when I leave her office. You will not be disappointed. Lynn gives the best deep tissue ever! 1/18/2006

I first had a massage from Lynn when she was at Finlandia, before they closed down & then changed ownership. After several mediocre massages at Dosha, I was very excited to track Lynn down again. While I admit the massage room doesn't compare with Dosha, I could careless! It's the massage that matters in the end, and Lynn delivers the best deep tissue massage in town, hands down! Fantastic experience every time. 9/6/2005

The staff at Zama deliver the best in deep tissue muscle work; they apply their technical knowledge with skill. They know where the trigger points that need work as if there is radar in their fingertips and know exactly how to apply the right level of pressure. I've never had my muscles get pinched or bruised from deep work - it took me almost two years to find therapists who are able to do consistent work for the 90 minutes I need. If there were a rating beyond "highly recommended" I'd check that box instead. Pros: Easy Parking, Very detail oriented, Easy to contact more

Heaven! 8/4/2005

Zama Massage is fabulous if you are active and want to do something for yourself that will keep your body healthy and fit. Their sports massage does wonders for helping stubborn muscles to relax or when you are working through an injury. The Thai massage is an amazing treat a hour and a half of pure heaven working and stretching something unique and different that I would recommend every dancer and athlete try. more
