1604/culebra: Febreze and Mr. Clean need to visit soon!! 1/17/2011

ZERO star should b an option. my review is based on taste, food preparation and atmosphere. Now, if u are looking for a clean place and great food, STAY AWAY! you will not find GREAT FOOD.. first, I should've left the minute i entered, as it had a mildew like smell. but i gave it a chance. I ordered my food at the front and the waitress seemed like she was having a bad day which did not help. well, she changed my mind a bit when she offered me a free drink, while i was waiting for my takeout food. the bar and surroundings were filthy and the odors were irritating as it smelled like the floors had been mopped with black water, ruinig the atmosphere. it looked like the bar had been wiped down with same dirty water. the odors reminded me of dead water standing on creeks, the aroma of food and mildew were interestingly turning my stomach. Restaurants should be CLEAN and SMELL good as the last place you want odors close to trash is where you go to eat! my food was out fast and the serving was adequate... great ? is not about fast service here, its about QUALITY..and this employees have zero clue... If you r looking for, tasteless, high calory CHEAP food & dont mind getting sick. then this review may not apply to you..sometimes we have to have food and it doesnt matter how it tastes but more on how hungry one may be.....if your standards are high then this is not your place..ever since i moved to san antonio its hard to find clean and great food...its like a culture thing here. so not many san antonians complain about food and quality..... more

It'll make you sick....literally! 12/9/2010

We used to love going to Wok inn until we all got seriously sick from the restaurant. All 5 in our family were sick with an intestinal bacterial infection for over a week. And we found out that they just failed their latest health inspection. BEWARE of this place. It is nasty. more

My favorite Chinese 1/21/2010

I go to Wok Inn all the time! The hot and sour soup is the best I've tried yet. All the portions are huge and everything looks and tastes fresh. Some people complained about the dim lighting but I actually kind of like it, it makes the place seem more like a dive and they're doing the best they can with the building they're in. LOVE this place!! Pros: awesome soupbar, huge portions, cheap, fresh veggies Cons: old building more

Best Chinese and Cheap too! 8/13/2008

Pros: FRESH HOT FOOD AND GREAT PORTIONS! CLEAN RESTRAUNT AND RESTROOMS Cons: >????? more

great food 3/22/2008

I always have great food and service at Wok Inn. The food is always fresh and hot and very affordable. I eat there at least once a week and love the soup bar. You could seriously fill up just on the unlimited soup bar. My favorite dishes are the sesame chicken and mongolian chicken, and though I'm not a big fan of fried rice, I do really like their combination fried rice on occasion. Also, their lunch specials are great and very cheap! As for the last review about delivery, I know for a fact that Wok Inn has NEVER delivered and his bad review is meant for some other restaurant and it should be removed. He clearly had a bad experience with another chinese place and it should be left for that business and he should really know which restaurant he orders from or writes reviews for! As for me, I highly recommend Wok Inn! Pros: delicious food, soup bar, price Cons: old building more

Worst Chinese! 8/29/2007

We moved to this side of town and also looked for a great Chinese food, we eat it often. Wok Inn was great the 1st time only. We order for delivery and the orders got smaller and smaller on portions every time. When they messed up our 1st order, they were happy to give us a full free order for the next time. We thought that was awesome, so went again. Then again, wrong orders, mainly from there on out. The last time they messed up they said we had a credit for an appetizer of our choice, YEA RIGHT. Everything we asked for was told to us...except that one, and nope, not that one either...until we got down to lowest price appetizer and something that neither of us would ever order anyhow. The rice is over cooked, and you get more vegetables than meat. One time I got 7 pieces of chicken and the rest veggies. Not cool! Save yourself the frustration and find another place to try. Pros: They deliver...but so do many others. Cons: They rip you off where they can. more

Worst Chinese ever!!!! 5/31/2007

This has to be the worst chinese food I have ever eaten. Some of my friends love it but my first and last experience was horrible. We tried the location on Grissom and the rice tasted burned and the lemon chicken was a little to pink. (undercooked) Their eggrolls are not too bad but not good enough for me to go back. The low lighting seems to cover the fact that the place is really dirty and smells strange. I heard the new location is much better but I am not sure I am brave enough to give it a chance. more

citysearch disappoints 4/30/2007

I decided to check this place out, because I'm still on the quest of finding a good Chinese restaurant in San Antonio. Alas, I'm still looking.\r \r The first thing one will notice is that this seems to be a fast food restaurant, only dimly lit. By dimly lit I mean that one can barely see inside the building. It seems dirty for sure.\r \r The food is mediocre, definitely not the 9.0 it's rated here. Avoid this place if you want good food. If you're on a budget, well, you get what you pay for and this place is cheap. Pros: Cheap Cons: You get what you pay for more

look no further 9/9/2006

Wok Inn has a new location on Potranco road and the food is still great. The restaurant is amazing too. It has an open kitchen and the service is great. The soup bar is probably the greatest idea. Sometimes when they get busy i find myself full from just the soup! I recommend the Pepper Steak or Shrimp Stir fry.\r \r Pros: Price, food quality, clean Cons: busy lunch crowds and too far from my house!!! more

Great Chinese Food 7/4/2006

I have been a constant eater here for nearly two years. The food is always hot and very tasty. If you have never been here, I would say try the fried rice first. My favourite is Kung Po Chicken, a little oily but good none the less. Pros: great food, clean, great service Cons: price more

The best in town!!! 2/11/2005

I have been dining at Wok Inn for over 10 years now. The food has been consistent and the service has been just right! I eat regularly about 3 times a week at this place and I've tried most of the items and my favorites is the pepper steak, shrimp with lobster sauce and kung pao chicken! The food is cooked to order and the flavor is just amazing. The price is just right and they also have a soup bar (I go through at leat 2 bowls of their delicious Hot and Sour soup) that comes with the entrees. Its a place i would recommend highly!!! Pros: relaxing, inexpensive, clean Cons: none, nada, zip more

Definately the best chinese restaurant!!! 2/11/2005

User review by coyotemom 2/10/2005

I was craving Chinese but not the crowds that usually come with the buffet style place, so I decided to try Wok Inn, it seemed nice, quite and clean. Too bad the service was really lousy and the guy working the register was very rude.I Thought that he was going to tell me ""No Soup for You""(Seinfeld). The food did outweigh the bad service but not by much. Pros: good parking , quite Cons: expensive more

great food and causal enviornment 9/25/2004

This place has the best beef broccoli. I'm not too much of a Lemon chicken person but my wife loves it! Actually everything they make is fresh and tasteful. Also, Wok Inn is a great value if you come by yourself or with the family. They are priced fairly and their portions are perfect, sometimes for two people. They have daily specials and they have an awesome soup bar thats included with the food. The place is located in the Great Northwest Shopping center off Grissiom road and Timberpath. Its about 3 miles down from bandera going to Loop 1604. It may seem like a hole in the wall but the place is clean and they have a friendly staff. Perfect place to sit down, relax and enjoy great food, both for dine in and take out. Pros: convenient, good price, best food more
