Editorial review from Citysearch 8/23/2013

I would like to make a special thanks to Dr. Ahlgrim, VCA Five Corners vet, for her impeccable, honest and caring handling of our dog and me as a customer. Our dog, Ripley, was clearly suffocating when we took her to the hospital in the middle of the night. We found out that her heart is 4X bigger than normal and due to her heart condition, her lungs are filling up with fluid, thus causing her not being able to get enough oxygen. We just went to another vet a month and a half ago, and her condition was completely missed by them. Here, they took care of her and us as well to make it as easy as possible to let her go. Unfortunately, we got here too late to have any possibility of recovery. The vet was very helpful and patient. She got a blanket for us so we can spend some time with Ripley. She helped us through the entire process.Thank you for getting us through this rough times. Ripley is now in doggy heaven enjoying all the treats she can get her paw on. more

Best care ever 9/21/2011

I took my pet to VCA after being taken for 550 dollars at another vet. The first time I took him to that vet, the vet who saw him was afraid of dogs, she was actually a cat vet and barely felt his belly. When they finally checked him his liver was scared and shrunken, it was too late. When it came time to put him down, VCA sat with me and pet the dog the entire time. I have two dogs now and would only take them to VCA. They are caring and gentle, and take time to answer all your questions. more

Unkind 11/7/2010

I thought I was doing a good deed by taking in an injured seagull. I called a few hours later and the girl asked, "Did you bring a seagull in here?". Then she told me they do not give out information on surrendered animals. They wouldn't even tell me if the bird died or survived. Weird policy, and the girl was so uncaring, sounded annoyed with me!! I just wanted to help out, I hope I left that bird in good hands, it could be sitting in a cage with no food or water..no way to tell. Last I checked, HIPAA only applied to humans! more

Unless you have a lot of Money dont go there if you want your pet to live. 4/13/2010

I took my cat to Five Corners Emergency Clinic they wanted $800 or more to stich him up. I did not have $800 on the spot so for $300 the vet put a gause wrap over the wound to cover the wound (Friday Evening) told to take him to my vet on Monday to have the dressing changed. The vet did not tell me that by waitning until Monday there would be so much infection my cat would probably die. I took my cat to my vet Monday and there was so much infection he had to be put to sleep. One other thing the Five Corners Vet did not tell me was how much my cat would suffer waiting to see my vet on Monday. They could have told me the truth then I could have decided not to wait until Moday saving my cat the suffering he endured --- I put my cat down Monday. Unless you have a lot of spare money, a good income and good credit don't go there --- they do not serve those who are uable to pay their extreamly unjustified high price. Money was more important than the suffering of my cat ---I now use the Afte more

A Good Port in a Storm 3/13/2010

I have an excellent regular vet, but my dogs have had a habit of getting sick on evenings and weekends. Five Corners has always been courteous, supportive, and caring. Yes, emergency care is more expensive; but it's not out of line. \r \r Recently I had to have one of my dogs put down, which was a very difficult experience. The vets were very supportive and helped me get through it. \r \r I like my regular vet a lot, but it's good to know that Five Corners is there when my vet is not available. As my remaining dog is also very elderly, this is very important to me.\r \r I have used 5 Corners Vet about eight times over the years and they have always done a great job. more

Pay MORE for less! 1/15/2010

Emergency care was too expensive, I went in after suspecting my aging Great Dane was bloating and left with a $600 bill. All they did was x-rays and medication to induce vomitting. We weren't there more than an hour or two. I had the EXACT same scenario play out last year and it was under $400 at Auburn Emergency. The vet was also VERY insistant on taking her into surgery despite the fact that she is a 10 year old Great Dane with heart problems and a few other health issues. Seemed to me that they were more about the money than the well being of my dog. I had no problem paying because I'd pay anything for her health but it gets to be an integrity issue which they clearly don't have. more

The Very Best Vets 1/13/2010

Wonderful staff and great place to have your pet treated (Burien VCA). You are one of the Family. I just couldn't ask for a more wonderful staff to work with my BIG cat Clancy. more

no money no service 11/6/2009

I am appalled how VCA five corners treated my brother and his dog. First they wouldnt even give the dog surgery they told my brother that he had to pay the entire amount 2,500 right away and they wouldnt let him do payments even when my brother said he could pay in three week .Secondly i did not like the treatment they were giving the dog they made him walk on his leg after they told my brother that they might need to amputate his leg, then my brother picked up his dog and they didnt say one word to him juss open the door for him to leave. Leaving him outside in the rain with a dog in need of medical attention. more

They give you options and explanations during difficult times... 1/21/2008

I've had two experiences there and both I was involved in 100%. I had a chihuahua have a c-section and I also put one to sleep there. they are pricey so I'm telling you now your visit won't be cheap but well worth the money and they hold your hand every step of the way. Kari 206-734-2662. I am a chihuahua breeder and do have puppies availible on occasion. Call me for more information. Pros: Very informative, and 100% involvement is a must Cons: expensive more

Service has gone down hill 9/2/2007

I have two dogs and two cats that I was taking to this place. First they misplaced the test results for one of our dogs, and didn't tell us he had giardia for five months. So we kept trying other things to solve his symptoms. Last week they misplaced our cats lab results. When I complained they said I could find another vet.\r \r I feel that this place has become sloppy, and that could be dangerous. more

I took my dog there - once 7/20/2007

Got an adult dog via rescue. a year later he developed alergy symptoms. Instead of my regular vet I took him to 5 corners as that was where his previous owner had been taking him - not an emergency. They immediately suspected flea allergy. Although I told them that I had never seen a single flea on the dog, they examined him for fleas, found nothing, did skin scrapings and found no evidence of fleas, yet they prescribed flea pill, flea spray, benadryl, and shampoo. 4 weeks later, very little improvement.\r I understand that allergies can be very difficult resolve but I cant help but feel that if they had listened more to me I might have gotten better results for my $600.00 visit\r 2 months later the issue was resolved by changing food and supplimenting with vitacaps more

I was very impressed!!!- a vet with a heart 4/13/2007

I was so happy to find a animal hospital that the veternarians and employees have a love for what they do. This is what puts this veternary hospital on top of all others. They don't think as every animal as just a job, they treat the animal with care and compassion. They came to my rescue late one night and I will never forget it. thank you!! more

Great pet care 11/2/2006

We have had great service at the clinic with Dr. Caviness for the past 10 years. Having had two pets with health issues, it was a relief to find a Dr. with compassion and great depth of knowledge. We were especially grateful for the in home care facilitated when our pets were suffering from a terminal illness. Pros: open 24 hours more

Good vets 9/20/2005

The veterinary staff are all very nice and quite helpful. They do all they can to get your pets well, or to prevent any problems from occurring. They always take the time to explain what is going on and what is being done about it. They are also equally as good with people as they are with the animals. The prices are in the median range. The place is very clean and sanitized; its a nice atmosphere. The only setback is that the wait time is a little long sometimes. Other than that, this is a good vet. more

Great 24 hour clinic 9/17/2005

This Pet Hospital is a wonderful 24 hour clinic. It is great for after hour emergency when your regular vet is closed and your pet needs immediate care. My dog ate some poison and they were able to save his life. They told me upfront what they will do and how much the bill would be. They were really nice and friendly. If our pets have an emergency again I would defiantly take them there. more

Awsome place to go 8/31/2005

I had to find a vet near by my new house. I had to put my old dog down and didn't know where to go. I happened accross them one day while driving to the store and made an appointment. They made my visit comforting and took my dog of 15 years and treated her with respect. They sent my a card a little later with her paw print on it and I will keep it forever. Another time I had to go there was when one of my baby sugar gliders needed to be hand fed and I needed a special instrument as he was very tine and they helped me out then and treated me really good. I will always go there for all my pets needs. And I have a lot of pets. more

Comforting ER Experience 4/4/2005

My usual vet has standard hours. My kitten didn't realize that when she pulled out all her stitches and got an infection... Five Corners provided excellent emergency care; the "kennel-side" manner of assistants and vets was comforting and professional. My kitten is happy and healthy again, and I'm glad that Five Corners turned out to be such a great experience for us both. more

This is a great hospital 3/3/2005

This is a great little animal hospital. I had to take my dog here one day when he was sick unexpectatly. The staff was so great, they explained everything to us without thinking twice, and what I did not understand or in need of more information, they was more then helpful to help me out with it, printed the information out for me so, if i needed to refer back to it later. There staff is great. more

Emergency Vet Hospital open 24 hours 2/21/2005

This is a 24 hour emergency Vet hospital with a very compassionate, caring and professional staff. We went in their with our cat that had been attacked and we weren't sure what the outcome would be. They took excellent care of our cat and us. They made sure we understood the procedures and all the costs beforehand. Our cat is fine now thanks to Five Corners! PROS: This is a phone number you should always have on hand. CONS: more
